Today, we were here with our friend, our friend bought the wrong flavor of ice cream and tried to return or swap for a different flavor. The same male manager refused a refund because the ice cream was "melted" since it was purchased 30 minutes ago. Our friend didn't know we had tried this flavor before and didn't like it and just wanted to swap it for mango. Here's the "melted" ice cream that we weren't allowed to return. The workers are always so kind and sweet, so is the female manager, but this guy is always hostile and aggressive to selective customers. This place is always busy and packed and many times I see people do the same thing where one person sits when another is on line with the food and seems to be an issue as of recent. I don't know the reason, but I've never had a problem doing this before in the past 2 almost 3 years. We purchase all of our food, sit quietly, clean up after ourselves, I don't see the issue with sitting while another purchases or why we couldn't return an unopened box of ice cream just to swap flavors.

Does it work - you bet! Due to the latest pandemic era that we are all experiencing, have not even been out much let alone write a review for yelp. Who has time for yelp - come on! (Ok, maybe for takeouts, as such.) But this time, yours truly could not help but create a new yelp review for this business. They floored us completely with disbelief - as I will soon tell you why. Let's start off with some background info. Year 2020 - Month: March/April/May - the unprecedented isolation stay-at-home period. Many of us have been quite afraid; to go out, see anyone, touch anything, and so on. Groceries have been purchased online and some random shopper will drop it off in your doorstep, then ONLY to find out that your requested items were sold out or was substituted. On top of that, as days go by, the time slots to even OBTAIN a delivery time has been a nightmare. We went from checking our usual texts/email/social media to what is now worrying for each moment to see if a time slot is available either on Fresh Direct, Instacart, Prime/Wholefoods, etc. And even if you happen to see a time slot in front of you, it gets taken by someone else who was spotting it a millisecond before you. All that has been a totally nerve-wrecking new ballgame for many. So in very hard times like these, we cannot help but to find a silver lining. We value the front line essential workers and all those who risk their lives each and everyday for the community, city, state, country and world. We are to be grateful for all that we do have - as unemployment rate rises and our country's overall morale have gone to record low. Compared to the larger picture, finding an available grocery time frame does not seem so horrible. The reason is because we still have hope and when we have a positive outlook, we find even the smallest things in life to be a huge blessing. This is leading to the business that has been created and reviewed for yelp. The photos all speak for themselves. The order was via email and the entire list was made available the day after. Pick up and packaging was done so fast, and a phone call was made to let you know it is ready. Although there is no delivery option, the pick up factor was worth the freshness, quality and superior service. One thing that stood out most was we were able to witness a true account of another customer who had a cart packed with all the groceries. It filled precariously past the top and an employee helped to saran plastic-wrapped the ENTIRE CART from bottom to the top, except for wheels; leaving nothing exposed. This was done so that none of the germs would contaminate any of the groceries. They did not have to do that, but they did. That touching scene alone, left many of us speechless, it went far beyond any words spoken or anything we are going through at this time - because it shows dedication and generosity to utilize time, plastic wrap, effort, and commitment to help one another. Prices were reasonable, and totally appreciative that there is no gouging and funny business. This is a shout-out to the entire staff and company at Asian Bok Choy for being an exceptional essential business to help our community and entire city. The items available were many types of meats (fresh), basic grocery items (fresh), frozen foods (looks great and is fresh), and of course, fruits and vegetable (once again, FRESH). Please see photos. Since our initial purchase, we have helped to spread the word, and have gotten additional pictures from friends who also placed orders too. So far we know that a friend from Connecticut and also from Long Island, that took our suggestion to also support the business. Further, we are expecting more will soon follow. There is also no minimum purchase (thank goodness)! Simple - email for a price list and submit your order via email. Confirmation comes back in one day and prepared/ready for pickup the next day. Check to make sure their timeline. Customer service was above and beyond our expectations, but also be mindful this is a very busy period as more customers are being limited to their usual supplies. May I also suggest that if you plan to order and pick up - to please honor their time frame and do not come like 2 days later, this is not fair to the owners and workers who have worked hard to put your items together.
