Got married here on 9/7/25. The venue was beautiful and comes with minor decorations/lighting, a crew to help on the day and a parking attendant. It was outdoors and near great hiking for those interested and very reasonably priced at $3,500 Fridays and Sundays and $4,500 Saturdays. You get the venue from 11 AM - 10 PM and 1 hour rehearsal that you can schedule. I knew it was outdoors and came with that risk but I do wish we were warned about all the bees as there were so many making it hard to eat. Otherwise the whole crew were amazing and made our day feel so special. read more

Went to the mushroom festival and loved every minute. Great job using full size busses as shuttles! I think this is my third event here and I love how they run things. Parking is great and the space is top notch. Their events always attract a great crowd. The surrounding trails make for a lovely escape from the masses when you need a break and it's incredibly pleasant to wander in all the different pockets of fun that can be set up around the main hall. On non event days it's one of my favorite nearish parks year round. Bird watching early or evening strolls, shady summer walks or a solid hike up the hill, it's never boring. They've got nature events all year round and easily accessable interpretive trails for fun and education. Go check it out if you want to see what appreciating the land looks like. read more

If you live in Lane County, do yourself a favor and buy a Lane County park pass & get you unlimited access to this and so many other of Lane County's natural resources stretching from the ocean to the mountains & Mt Pisgah might be the jewel in the crown. Don't waste time at the pay station! It's also a great gift idea as I know, read on: First time I came here I was very unimpressed & I didn't come back for a year. Luckily, somebody showed me the error of my ways by buying me an annual pass as a gift, and then taking me for a walk in the lesser-known backside of this massive preserve. Most folks, if they're not familiar with this place, or are the grueling trail runners you often see out here, head straight up the steepest sunniest most inhospitable Trail known as number one. This is the least pleasant experience in the entire park. More accessible, and more quickly varied, are the trails running from the Arboretum which offer a wealth of all abilities friendly trails that are fantastic for Nature lovers of all persuasions. Birders, hikers, Walker's, strollers, runners ,dogs, children, slow folks will find beautiful varied local flora and fauna out here with handy benches & well designed educational installations. What a lovely place to hike! If you are in the mood to push yourself or if you are in the mood for a more leisurely stroll, you will find it here. The terrain is varied and exposure levels change, so be prepared for trees and open sun. We spotted many birds, deer, bunnies, and tons of wildflowers and butterflies. Mt. pisgah is the "meca" of hiking close to Eugene. There are several trail all different in difficulty and length that come to the top as well as horse trails. This hike is a little more demanding as it does cover some steep inclines over the 1-7 miles routes. However is is incredibly well maintained and has beautiful sights at the peak. My wife and I do this one regularly and we love it. There is a day fee of 4$ to park here but the 4$ is worth it for the view and hike experience. read more

Mount Pisgah is by far one of my favorite places to go for a walk or hike. You can choose to hike Mount Pisgah which I have yet to do but have heard it's a moderate hike. It's basically uphill the whole way up and then of course an easy walk back down the mountain. Along the base of the mountain runs the Willamette river which in the summer is a great place to take a dip on a hot day or let your dog go for a swim. There is only one area I have found with a small beach to sit on by the river but fills up fast with families. You also need to watch out for biting fire ants in the trees! Ouch! There are a few different trails along the base of the mountain that are mostly flat that walk through the expansive grasslands spotted with trees, plant life, mushrooms, birds, and creeks. You can bring your dog on a leash which is great and parking is only 6$ for the day. I see they have a venue here for weddings which looks nice and they also do a Mushroom Festival every year so keep an eye out for that! There are many little informative nature walks that go on here too. I will be frequenting this place for as long as I live in Eugene! read more

Mount Pisgah Arboretum. Parking $5. To me the term "arboretum" suggests a botanical garden, with collections of labeled plants. Pisgah was more like an open space preserve, with criss-crossing hiking trails. The summit route was nice and challenging, after sitting my butt in the car for so many hours. Trails are well maintained with ground cover. There are benches galore, really nice ones even. The trail signage was at times ample, at other times non-existence. I got a little bit lost at one point. No biking allowed in this place, which is a shame, because these trails would be really fun on MTB. read more

There are so many hikes to do on the various trails here. There is a big map near the parking lot and building, which also has paper brochure maps you can grab. I aimed to hike Trail 1 to the top of the mountain. I found the trails to be labeled well, and there were usually distances included along the way. The top of the mountain (not technically within the arboretum boundaries) is beautiful and is a hike everyone should do in Eugene, despite the rough steep uphill climb. The uphill was harder than I imagined, and I'm not sure if it was because I've been under the weather or because it really just is steep and the gravel makes it somewhat slippery. Based on the signage at the main trailhead, the arboretum has events (for kids too) related to ecology and biology. Parking is $4 with card only. read more

This is one good work out kids! The trail is crushed rock that meanders up a pretty steep incline at places then dumps you to and open meadow at the top with a marker and some of the finest views you will see of the area. Well worth the hike. Going down, it can get steep at places and you can slip so "zigzagging" is recommended. There are benches at about four places on the hike that make for nice places to stop and reflect or catch your breath. Amazing place not far from downtown Eugene. read more

I LOVE Mt. Pisgah! The trails are great. The hiking is wonderful. It's family friendly. There's educational plaques speckling the arboretum and native plant garden. There's ample room to take your well behaved pooch on an off leash adventure. You might be lucky enough to see bald eagles or osprey cruising the river. There are some nice spots to swim in the summer. They have great kiddie camps and adult adventures available. Their restoration work is sustainable and well planned. This place ROCKS! read more

A buddy and I used to hike this trail several times every summer. It's a great, relatively short hike. It can get hot out there because it's mostly a dirt hiking path and grasslands. Not too many trees. So, make sure to at least bring something to drink because there are no shack shops out there. It's a good idea to put on some sunscreen as well. We saw families up there with all kinds of kids, so it really isn't too hard a hike. The view is a beauty though. You can see all the way around once you get to the top. The I-5 corridor up through Eugene and all points facing East. We used to pick up lunch and then eat it once we got to the top. At the base of Mt. Pisgah are very nice areas to picnic as well. So, you don't have to go hiking, but the hike is really well worth it. It's right off of I-5 and then you have to drive in a little. If you're lucky one of the fruit stands will be selling cherries or something. Parking is in a gravel dirt lot, so make sure to lock your cars and don't leave valuables in sight. read more

Went here many times on school trips as a kid but hadn't been back in a while. One of the freakish nice spring afternoons found me longing to check it out again with the family. The four tiered gravel parking lot seemed much the same on arrival but the arboretum has been greatly upgraded since last I was here. The wide open space has indoor picnic tables and facilities and a patio installed outside. For the not so adventurous there are quiet strolls by the river with native plantings and benches dotting the path. The paths meandering through the fields and oak groves were teeming with families and people of all generations on this day. It was beautiful as always and I look forward to making it back soon. read more

Plus other fun things to catch and let go -A wooden bridge from which you can spot toads and salamanders dangling from lily pads -Wildflowers exploding into spring -A gorgeous venue (at once spacious and intimate) that hosts weddings, parties, and the annual mushroom and wildflower festivals -Vast, grassy fields to off-leash your dogs in -The panorama from various points in your hike up Pisgah, which reminds you of a romantic, hazy Hudson River School painting -That one hill with the rope swing. You know the one I'm talking about. -All the small, family-owned farms that dot the road toward Pisgah, and offer passersby fresh, no-spray produce, heirloom meat, and u-pick wildflowers. Fantastic park with well-maintained trails as covered in the reviews below. Two things that you should know, though: 1. If you have a dog who runs off leash through the brush, TICKS! Lots and lots and lots of ticks! Never had a problem with them on my person but every time I took the dog there I ended up having to pluck a dozen or so off of her. 2. The north parking lot isn't the best place to leave your car. Lots of petty theft. Not really the park's fault especially in the winter when traffic is low... but good idea to take all your valuables (or potentially valuables) out of the car. Maybe even leave the windows rolled down as to save an expensive glass replacement bill. read more

I would definitely not recommend this place to get married during these covid 19 times. Me and my fiancé put a deposit down in order to save the place for the wedding. We recently got an email saying that the wedding venue is canceled and we have 2 choices. The 2 choices were to get the elopement package or move it a year out. The problem with that is we have already booked everything, people have bought plane tickets, and everything has been set up. If we choose to do it next year we also have to pay the new fee that is 300 more. So because we didn't choose one of those 2 options we don't get our 250 dollar "processing fee" back. Seems like someone is just out to get every penny they can if you ask me. read more

This place is awesome! We went to Oregon in the summer and this is definitely one of the best hiking trails I've been on. The views of nature are amazing, as you're walking through different trails that go along a mountain path you also get to enjoy a beautiful river that streams peaceful sounds. I was taken by the different birds I saw, many that I didn't recognize, most were very colorful. BEWARE, there are small snakes along the way, I saw two. I recommend you take a hiking stick. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves nature or is looking for a little adventure. Don't forget to take lots of pictures and video. I visited with my family (kids 4 and 8). The parking is $5, there is no admission to the arboretum. I don't know if I would call this place an arboretum, it is more of a hiking spot. There are several beautiful hikes in the area, but they didn't have different garden areas. Or if they did I didn't hike far enough to find them. The benches along the trails are cool. They are carved out of wood and have different themes and sayings on them. We hiked down to the river and the kids really enjoyed skipping stones. This was a nice place to stop for a couple of hours and have a picnic while passing through on a road trip. read more

Yelp Bride Review- Went to look at their event venue. Amid the large shady oaks, and the green lawns (in June) the outdoor landscape was natural, lush and beautiful. The event "hall" is a big, simple framed, rustic building with exposed wood beams, cement floors, sliding walls to allow for open sides, set with large windows for natural light. There was one standard refrigerator and a 4'x3' counter-top in a corner of the open space. Bathrooms are outside in two small freestanding buildings, and a supposed "kitchen" which was locked at time of visit, but I did find a large utility sink outside of one of the buildings. Pros: Beautiful outdoor location; chairs and tables are available on site. Cons: Expensive ($1800 or $1000, depending on the season; cheaper price beginning the 1st of November), especially when coupled with the mandatory parking permit of $3.00 per vehicle; not having the event grounds be "exclusive," as this is a state park and anyone can enjoy it (as is their American right). Also don't want to risk my guests having their car broken into, so .... ...still looking for an ideal party location. On a side note, Mount Pisgah has a bitchin' hiking trail (4 Yelp Star Worthy), 1,000'+ altitude gain in less than 2 miles; making it a great place to get some exercise or train for a backpacking trip, as my parents do. Watch out for poison oak, dog shit on the sides of the trail, and the gads of cackling women who can be heard a quarter mile away, and whose obnoxious perfume lingers among the wafts of scented Willamette Valley grasses and wild June roses. read more

Wonderful hiking for both the novice or expert. Options range from walking along old growth savanna oak meadows, a relaxed stroll along the Willamette River, to a 60°+ strait hike to the top. The view from on high is breath taking and well worth the switch back or strait up jaunt. It is close to home and has both free parking options or park near the Arboretum and pay a very small parking fee to enjoy the educational sites that are frequently open [might want to call ahead of time]. An excellent spot for birding most of the year, you might see some deer that reside there year round, during unique flowers are in bloom relative to the season. They rent out a very nice space if you are interested in having a family reunion or a wedding and the staff is quite helpful. Along the drive out there is a U-Pick flower farm and there use to be a U-Pick corn and pumpkin patch during the right time of year as well [the latter portion you will have to check on. Extremely close to both Eugene and Springfield. All and all, no matter why are you head out that way it is worth the stop. read more

Mount Pisgah is amazing. The hike to the summit is fairly difficult for an out of shape non-hiker. But I'm pretty sure anyone can do it in enough time, because I did! The summit is only 1.4 miles from the parking lot and the trail up isn't the most beautiful trail ever. You will cross power lines on the way up and that is NOT cute, but once you reach the top it will all be worth it. The view is breathtaking (see photos) and it makes the hike up (no matter how much or little trouble you have hiking) worth it. read more

Though the area possesses remarkable beauty, the trails possess maybe 20% signage. Why, I have no idea. From leaving the parking lot I assumed I was hiking to the summit, due to the large Mount Pisgah Arboretum sign and administrative office directly in front of me. As I walk on there was no sign for any trail head, simply a trail. Bizarre. And no route to the summit. No rocket science required....simply mark each and every trail. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but frankly... it's pretty bland. I've never been able to reach the summit (so I can't honestly speak to that), as the trek up has always been too grueling for me, but I've gone all over the arboretum section and found it kind of wanting. A hawk here & there maybe, but that's about it. Spencer Butte & the Ridgeline Trails put this place to shame, in my opinion. read more

The Zig Zag trail is also a great place, and offers more shade. To get there walk toward the pavilion and then left up the valley, then any of the trails to the right. There are ways to even go up to the summit from the south side, on much less travelled trails. In any case, can't go wrong at Mount Pisgah, one of the really great urban parks. read more

Mt Pisgah Arboretum is NOT Mt Pisgah although the properties are side by side. This is a review of the Mt Pisgah Summit Trail. Mt Pisgah is part of the Howard Buford Park Recreation Area (HBRA), a Lane County Park. The Arboretum is a private non-profit organization on a small river side area of about 200 acres. The trail to Mt Pisgah is more like an open gravel road and although dogs are required to be on leash many hikers do not follow the rules and do not pick up their pooches poop or control their dogs. As a result very limited wildlife sightings and some uncomfortable interactions on the popular hike. The top is very trampled because many park visitors don't stay on the designated trail. There are also "rouge" trails up the mountain where people prefer shortcuts and ruin native habitat. If you want a more natural experience hike and walk the beautiful trails within Mt Pisgah Arboretum or the many other trails within the HBRA. If you join Mt Pisgah Arboretum or Friends of Buford Park the membership comes with a parking pass, otherwise the daily fee charged for use of the county park is $4. The Arboretum does not have a separate parking lot, people who use the Arboretum must park in the county lot. read more

We went up to the Mount Pisgah Arboretum for a wedding, and found it to be a lovely place for the occasion. There was an open-air building for the reception that worked out perfectly, with BBQs (had to be rented), bathrooms, etc. They cleared out a lovely area beneath oak (I think) trees, which made for a wonderful setting for the wedding. The only downside was that it was a distance from town, so DDs and taxis were required for the booze-laden occasion (taxi fare was around $20 from downtown Eugene). There were people walking by with rafts and river-related stuff, so I assume there's more to do up there than just get hitched, but for the nontraditional (Hawaiian-themed) wedding we attended, it seemed like a lovely option. Also, for a public park, the bathrooms were in notably fine shape. That's always appreciated. read more
