I love Iris Vineyards. Their staff is nothing short of exceptional every time I've been in. Really knowledgeable and helpful, especially for a non wine drinker looking to try new things. The place is cute, and a fun atmosphere to enjoy a glass of wine with some friends. My personal favorite is the sweet amalia wine, it's so different than anything I've tried and I really enjoy it. Plus the prices are reasonable, and I love that. I'd recommend Iris for anyone who enjoys wine or is interested in trying wine! read more

So far, my favorite wine room in the Eugene-Springfield area! We were so impressed by the selection here, including the knowledge of our server. She must have a more suitable title, but I don't know it, so since she served us, I will call her our server. They have a glass for every mood at a nice price, and you can sample several with a generous flight of your choosing. I appreciated that we were offered a pour of wines not listed on the menu to fit our taste! The wine-based cocktails are also classic and looked delicious from what we could see others having. I was most tempted by their French 75. They have the cutest patio seating in the back which really encouraged social connection between patrons. Came to check out their tasting room and I was the only one there. They immediately helped me. Even though I was the only one there at the beginning it was never awkward at all. They made conversation with me the entire time. I ordered a charcuterie board and besides getting a wine tasting, I ordered a drink. Which was really delicious. I am new to the area so they were recommending places that I should check out. The place is super cute. They have an outside area if you prefer to sit outside. I would come back to this place. You do park on the street but there is a parking lot where you pay to park if you are okay with that right next to the place. read more

Iris Vineyards was on my packed Memorial Day weekend gal pal getaway. Neither of us had been here but during my research into Willamette Valley someone suggested this place as a hidden gem, and it turned out to be the wine bar where my wine-loving, Napa-frequenting gal pal bought a whole case to ship back home to California. When we drove in to Springfield, we found it to be a quaint, sleepy little place on a Sunday. However, this turned into an indulgent afternoon of sipping Iris Vineyard's award-winning flight in their warm, sunny back patio, a series of 5 of their feted wine pours that started with sparkling and ending in pinot noirs. Every single glass was delicious and we even got a few splashes of their chardonnay to sample for free. We chatted with the hostess and learned Iris doesn't distribute far outside the bounds of Willamette Valley, but they were optimistic about expanding. My gal pal and I wholeheartedly endorse these wines and their tasting experience, they are absolutely perfect for a warm spring day, or basically anytime! read more

Worst experience ever My family and I are visiting my new found family after 47 years I picked this place to go check out on our last day here and they kicked us out because we had 1 extra person in our group and we didn't make a reservation How pathetic there was no one even in the establishment at the time and we were have only taken up 2 tables so if anyone did come in they could still accommodate I wish I would have gotten The name of the lady she was so rude and as a previous restaurant owner you never TURN paying costumers away!!! There loss we went to Public House and gave them our business instead!! I do not recommend this place or company that would treat customers this way!!!! To the owner I would find out who was working that night and get rid of her and the other one because they turned incoming revenue into your business away PATHETIC!!! We probably would have spent well over $300 or more and they turned us away and mind you like I said no one was in the place at all!! After we left public house we drove by it and they had 1 customer after we spent about 2 hours at public house That's Karma for you!!!! Never ever turn customers away!!! Hopefully a lesson learned for you!!! If you want a great Wine place go to Kings Estate!!! What a great day at Iris! The staff was super friendly. It was my birthday and they made me feel extremely welcome and even brought me extra treats!! Such a lovely space! The back patio has a fire pit and some fountains. Simple but cute. The Halloween decor was cute. Our server told us the tasting notes for each sample and she just seemed very knowledgeable and informative. The bread plate was the perfect snack for us as we had just come from a brunch but had something to nibble on as we tasted. The house call 2020 is probably the best wine for the price! Very drinkable and fruit forward. We will definitely be back! read more

Iris Vineyards Is A Gem As I have said in some other reviews, wine tasting in Oregon is different then if you were to be in Napa. Not all places are open daily and with some it is by appointment only. We were in Eugene on a Tuesday and were lucky enough to find Iris and it was open! We were the only ones there at about 3 PM. A large group had just left. The girl who helped us was nice and knowledgeable about the wine she was serving. The Arete chardonnay and the Arete pinot noir were great. We bought a case and shipped it home. If you get a chance stop in here. read more

Beautiful setting, feels like a little boutique winery in Europe. We enjoyed their wines when we came, especially the whites. It's definitely a fun stop on the way to or from King Estate since it is very different, but still good. The only reason I'm giving four stars is that our service was a bit slow for the wine tasting, which may have been due to a party that was being hosted there. This was my first time at Iris Vineyards even though I have had their wine many times in the past. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to spend some time outside but not be stuck in the car trying to get somewhere. I remembered there were a few other wineries out near King Estate and Sweet Cheeks so I decided to give them a try and this was the first stop. I had no idea how far back from the road it was and how expansive of views it had! I was blown away when we came over the hill and saw the golden vineyards glowing in the sunlight with the beautiful tasting room sitting up on the hill. We decided to share a wine flight and they were nice enough to split each one into two glasses for us without us even asking. Right around 2pm on a Saturday is when everyone showed up and the place started getting busy. The patio is large and you can walk around the property a little bit. Dogs are allowed on the patio on leashes as well which I appreciate. The views are stunning but only 2 out of the 3 old wooden benches had cushions. I hope they replace the other cushion soon because no one wants splinters while wine tasting and I'm sure they can afford it. The tasting room used to be the owner's house before they built their new house (must be nice!) and it was nothing short of beautiful. The staff was awesome and we left hoping to plan a trip back as soon as possible. Also, if you buy a 40$ bottle of wine they will wave the flight purchase. Cheers! read more

If you have ever been to Italy, you will feel like you are in the hills of Tuscany! If you haven't, Iris will allow you that experience. The tasting room, including the bathroom have the architectural feel of a Tuscan Villa. We purchased the Chalice Pinot Gris to pair with Chinese food. Labels with Chalice are grown on the property. The 2012 Pinot Reserve is still our favorite. Take a drive up the country gravel road, it will be worth the visit! read more

It feels like Tuscany as soon as you glimpse the tasting room on the hill above the vineyard. Golden stucco and cypress trees and a vine-covered veranda that overlooks the valley - I was transported immediately. The setting was quiet and had a feeling of privacy that is missing from other nearby tasting rooms. The wine was intensely flavorful with not one bad sip from the flight I had - the only minor downside was that they were sold out of some of their cheese plates by 4 pm, which seems odd for a weekend. The pricing was decent however and the creamy mozzarella and ciabatta we ate was perfection. We will be returning, this time with friends to share the view and splendid wine with. read more

My brother and his girlfriend were in town last weekend and they wanted to go wine tasting. I've been through the area before, seeing that I basically live a mile away from Sweet Cheeks and Silvan Ridge (Hinman) vineyards. However, I never had the pleasure of going to Iris for a tasting. It wasn't for lack of trying, but it always seemed like the place was always closed. All that changed on Saturday, we were driving past and my brother practically drove the car into a ditch because he saw that the Iris tasting room was open. The vineyard is located very far back on the property (I seriously had no idea the place was so big). My brother clocked the travel time 8 minutes from the entrance to the driveway and to the opening of the vineyard. I gotta say, it was gorgeous driving in, the property is absolutely breathtaking, and knowing about how the iris' bloom during the summer, I'd like to go back. The tasting room is very clean, and very Italian. The family occupies the home that connects to the tasting room. The building itself is stunning, a great view, an overhang, benches wonderfully fuzzy with moss. I loved it. I've never been to Italy, but I'd like to think that this is what it would look like. I really enjoyed the wine, I'm not one for bitter reds, so I tend to gravitate towards lighter, sweeter, white wines. I think my favorite would have to be the After Dinner Chardonnay. I like mead, and it made me really happy to catch the aroma of honey and then taste it. My brother bought a bottle for my mother to enjoy, though I've considered sneaking it at some point. The hostess was very nice and very knowledgeable about the wines and gave us generous portions in our tasting. We even got to pick the wines we wanted to taste from a small menu that she provided us. It was nice, I got to avoid wines that I knew I wouldn't like. I despise being wasteful. All in all, this is a gorgeous place, I would definitely come here again. Hell, if I was one for dating, I would convince my date to come here to enjoy a nice glass of wine and take in the view. read more

Wow. Is this the most complete, perfect small winery experience in Oregon? Really good wines, our favorites the Pinot Gris (rated 91 points) and both the regular and reserve Pinot Noir bottling. A brilliant sparkling rose too. Add to this a beautiful tasting room, friendly staff, and a drop dead gorgeous Tuscan style graveled courtyard and colonnade overlooking the vineyard... You could be excused for thinking you'd somehow squeaked into heaven! The nicest place I've seen in the Eugene area for a sunny day picnic, bring your own or buy one of the several cheese/salami plates on offer here. We spent over two hours here and hated to leave! read more

Iris Vineyards recently re-opened for tastings. The tasting room is in an Italian-esque kitchen. Apparently the owners used to live there, but now they live in the cute villa next door. I was told that wild Iris' bloom all over the vineyard in the summer, which makes me want to visit again at that time! I tried a red-wine flight, which was good. I learned that a "reserve" wine is 100% made with their grapes, while "non-reserve" wines include some imported grapes. Very interesting! They set up some cheese/crackers in the tasting room, and the view outside is gorgeous! read more

When are these guys going to re-open their tasting room? Their Pino Noirs are everything a pinot should be, I don't think I ever had a better pinot under $25 dollars. I buy it by the case. We made the mistake of making a special trip out to here from Portland when they advertised they would be having sauser wine ("back this weekend"). I was really looking forward to it! Arrived Saturday afternoon only to find out they were out. If your supply is so limited you can't make it through day 1 of the weekend, at least have the courtesy to 1 - mention that & 2 - update your post. Tasting room is well outside Eugene so save yourself a drive and call in advance if there is something specific you are interested in. read more

I've visited and tasted at this winery a couple of times recently, and found a couple of very respectable Pinot Noirs. What a lovely estate, also, with the charming Tuscan style villa and tasting room, and gorgeous view. I'm adding this winery to my regular rotation in the southern Willamette Valley. (Luckily, I live in the area, so get to take a wine tasting foray around here a few times a year or so). read more

Attended an event there, the scenery was pretty but unfortunately the staff were rather rude and disorganized...food was just adequate. I felt bad for the people holding the event. Also, I do not believe it was handicap accessible... stairs were extremely steep. Had a hard time finding my car as there was no lighting in parking lot and narrow road going in and out was extremely dark. I'm sure with a little training and a few changes it could be a lovely place to hold an event. read more
