Mount Regis did what they advertised, just with a mixed bag of a lot of small mistakes or screw ups with 1 alcoholic being helped. I want to Mount Regis for Medical Detox and rehab for Alcoholism. I worked, but... 1st, the clinical staff were fantastic and very supportive. I got more out of one on one sessions and small group sessions, then large group sessions. Most of the large group topics applied to coping mechanisms and trauma therapy. (Which for me helped very little) 2nd, the food was 3 star cafeteria food, processed meat (mostly chicken) and ok veggies. The cafeteria staff were great (minus 1) you will definitely form a bond with them (ask for Auntie, he will make you day...and yes it's a guy...you'll get it when you meet him) 3nd, Admission and case management. Very sub par. Grant I was there when they just extended number of patients they could hold. But, first going in went well (minus, me starting to detox while speaking with them. Nothing I of them could do about that). But trying to get information, requests in was extremely difficult. Between lack of availability of the staff in discharge planning and getting a go to the person and that person telling you go to the person you already talked to... 4th, Nursing staff, same as the administration staff, but they didn't even seem to care. They acted like, I'm here for a pay check. Overall, I went there to get help, mission accomplished. But I would recommend a smaller facility. read more

One of their employees driving a company owned car, ran into the back of my wife's parked vehicle causing extensive damage. Everyone at Mount Regis Center is giving me the runaround for contacting their insurance company. This is now day two, and I have yet to speak to anyone that can assist with getting my wife a rental car and speaking with an adjuster to start my claim. I just completed a 45 day stay at Mt Regis and I'm going to have to say that it was pretty horrible. Now I am back home and the wolves are at my door day and night and they didn't give me any ideas as to what I should do for aftercare. I need help now more than I did going into treatment and mt Regis is pretty much a nonentity and I am in my own hanging by a thread! Thanks alit Mt Regis for setting me up to fail! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff was having sex with the patients and hateful to the rest! I can do better by myself! read more

This place is awful. Do not go there if you are an older person or have health issues. I needed to be in a hospital setting. This was not. Beds are terrible. Had to walk for your meds, get vitals every 2 hours. I was in pain & nothing helped. Had to walk to cafeteria to eat with a walker, oxygen tank and it was not possible. Patients tried to help. Not set up for geriatric patients. They would not tell you how to get out. Like prison. Could not make a phone call. They take away everything. I do not recommend this place except for the young. read more

Rehab is not a vacation, so get that out of your head before you check in. You are sick and need treatment, you are not going to club med. There are rule and regiments which are designed to help structure your life back into some sort of order and manageability. After all you checked in because your life was a mess anyhow right? With that said, yes like any hospital like situation there will be some employees there you like and those you do not like. My experience was the latter case was very minimal as the staff and counselors were awesome. It took me a week or so to detox and begin to get out of my victim/"I'm right" thinking mentality and that's when the real healing began. I am surprised to see only one other review on yelp for this place. Maybe people want to be more private about their recovery treatments. Anyhow don't make your decisions solely on one review especially on the internet, either mine or the one before me which apparently did not have such a great experience. When in rehab there were about 1/4 of the people there who really didn't want to be there and they would find all sorts of excuses to make their own life more difficult and try to make those around them as well. For the rest, well they were some amazing fun and pleasant people striving to course correct their lives and were a delight to spend my time with during my stay. Yes some of the counselors will put you on the spot, especially when your excuses are very obvious to the trained eye. This is maybe because we, under the duress of our addictions, can make up some pretty ridiculous stories to ourselves and then live them out thinking we are "right". The direct approaches some counselors take is a way to break you out of that pattern. Unfortunately a lot of people come into rehab thinking they know more than the specialist and maybe they are not ready to be in treatment. If you go into rehab with humility and a willingness to apply what they are saying, you will get the best out of the experience. If not you will leave one star reviews no matter where you spend your time in rehab. Nonetheless I would highly recommend Mt Regis as my stay there allowed me to take the timeout of life's structure and realign my focus and thinking to a better path. I cannot say I am a big fan of all the AA stuff that is part of the treatment because I hold my particular views on that group. But it was part of their program so I walked that walk to try those particulars out while there. But I am not reviewing AA in this post. Mt Regis provided me the education and training on my addiction I never received before. It basically saved my life. Still sober and living larger than ever because of my decision to seek treatment at Mount Regis. read more

There are two good things I will say. One, the cafeteria staff is very nice and welcoming and are more than willing to accommodate you. Two, the building is put together nice as well as the smoking area. Now, with the compliments out the way, I'm gonna tell you the real truth. When people come into rehab it's a big move for them, they're nervous, torn down, and in a shaken state. Some of the staff members (Jenny Faviss ESPECIALLY) will put you on the spot in front of every patient there and embarrass the shit out of you and make you want to leave. (They say it's a technique to "break you down and make you realize things") but no one wants to pay top dollar to be utterly humiliated in front of 50+ strangers. It's not called for, whatsoever. They could do stuff like that one on one if they really have to. Next, after about a week or so of being there, I was finally settling down and getting back to normal. Well, when you act calm and relaxed the counselors and nurse staff will accuse you of being on something and drug test you. They don't think you can just be calm or be in a good mood. Also, while there, me and several other patients were given the wrong medications at least once or twice because the nurse administering the meds wasn't paying attention. One of the biggest disappointments was that they treat you like a child all day every day. There is a wide variety of age differences, and someone who is older doesn't really want to color or do pointless activities. When you need to see your counselor, it's like a wild chase trying to get to them. You have to fight and beg to get what you want in this place, and even threaten to leave. I wouldn't have gotten the proper medications I needed if I wouldn't have threatened to leave, honest to God. Which is ridiculous because I paid a decent amount to be here. Honestly, I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy, much less someone I actually care about. read more
