Every day chores became 3x harder because the slightest bit of movement caused shooting pain from my lower back down to the back of my right leg. I couldn't even lift my then one year old child without hurting myself. It felt like I had a spine of an 80 year old, at only 22. I saw various specialists and underwent different procedures but nothing helped to improve my back until physical therapy. From day one at this facility, Dale was attentive to my needs and was always encouraging me. I really liked that she challenged me every session and believed in my abilities when I didn't. She is very knowledgeable and helped me in finding ways to improve my posture, movement, sleep position, and home workout. This surgery is not for the faint of heart. I could care less about the scarring; gaining mobility and the ability to exercise again is the focus. My first session was an indepth consult with Lish. Then right into some PT. I actually look forward to every visit. Why? -The team is so supportive, professional and talented. -Clean facility. -They remember your name - it's like Cheers without the alcohol. -They monitor your progress, cheering me on with every milestone. -They give me realisitic expectations, like telling me when i can start running again. -The most amazing PT videos that i need to do at home. Lish sends them to my email and instead of paper, i can watch the videos and it reinforces the techniques. With only 7 more sessions, I am confident I will be out racing again soon! I think there are like 4 or 5 parking spots so if you come here on rush hour, you're simply out of luck. Sure, you can find street parking, but if you're coming here, I don't know, for PHYSICAL THERAPY, walking around is a tad problematic.

My PT sessions alternated between Maggie and Kris twice a week until late May, when my visits tapered off to once a week until completion of my therapy in mid- to late-June. Both Maggie and Kris are consummate professionals, friendly and engaging but also acutely aware of what I could (and couldn't do) at the various stages of my recovery. Without their help, I would not have recovered as quickly - and as strongly - as I did. They were very knowledgeable, while still being careful, about expanding my ankle's range of motion and building its strength, which in turn gave me more confidence in the progress of my recovery. Because of their prudent treatment and careful prodding, I was starting neighborhood walks by late March, resumed bike riding in early May, and started hitting golf balls again in mid-May. By the end of May, I was taking 25 mile bike rides and playing 18 holes of golf - well ahead of my anticipated recovery schedule. I'm very grateful for their treatment and professionalism, as well as for the work of the staff at Medstar PT Arlington. My treatment overlapped with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the protocols at Medstar were very solid. I would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of PT.

Felt pain with rain and barometric pressure drops. Had five orthopedic surgeons say "you need to get your knee replaced." Was about to agree with them, but sometimes it pays to be skeptical. Dr Hamilton and others came up with a treatment. "Knee replacement?" They were correct. Pain was caused by previous surgery done by another practice, that's no longer recommended as doctors and medical professionals have learned. After six months of PT, I was able to avoid this unnecessary surgery. Thanks to Anderson my knee is now properly aligned, and without the cost and pain either. Definitely go here!

I worked with Alec for about half a year and he really helped me work on getting my range of motion and strength! He asked me questions and conducted range of motion tests to create a plan personalized for me. I saw him once or twice a week and then had the companion app at home to log and do my rehab exercises and he even gave me a theraband to use at home. And after each session, they also have water or snacks for you! Overall, I made some good progress and had a great time here. The staff is all very friendly, especially their dog! The space is clean and decorated with encouraging words, a variety of machines, and theres always good music playing to get you in the zone. I would definitely recommend going here.
