The physical therapists at The Physical Therapy Zone, especially Sydney and Esteban, are wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. I came to them after another PT failed to make any changes to my pain level. Despite my case being a bit of a head scratcher, Sydney, with Esteban's support, kept discussing and experimenting and not giving up on finding me relief. Which they have! I'm grateful that they didn't give up on me and were willing to dig in and figure it out. I would recommend The Physical Therapy Zone to anyone who needs PT services (and they have a laser and other new gadgets!). When I had a reverse shoulder replacement in late January, I knew that I would want to go to The Physical Therapy Zone for assistance with my recovery. Lori Alexander, DPT, the business owner & my primary therapist, developed a great program for my twice weekly visits to restore range of motion & eventually work on strengthening my shoulder & arm muscles. One-on-one therapy is a hallmark of this practice, whereas many other PT providers have have one therapist for multiple clients. Lori tracked my progress & my surgeon was very impressed with my recovery. Prior to my shoulder surgery, I worried about having a long recovery but within 3-4 months I had made remarkable progress, thanks to Lori & her team. I've never had physical therapy before. I went yesterday evening for my first session at The Physical Therapy Zone and worked with Caitlyn and Janae (sorry if my spelling is incorrect). They are wonderful--I felt like I mattered to them. All my questions were answered, I understood everything they shared with me, and I left feeling encouraged and determined to do the easy stretches/strengthening exercises Caitlyn showed me (I have a complex tear of the medial meniscus in my right knee, along with osteoarthritis). They even offered to show me how to use a TENS unit I bought two years ago and have never taken out of the box. I'm looking forward to my next two visits and to having much less pain in my life. **For future DPT applicants** My sincerest thank you to you, Lori. For the past several weeks, you were kind enough to permit me to shadow you as part of my observership requirement for my application to DPT programs. During my time with you, I saw myself one day as a practitioner, supporting and educating patients in their rehabilitation. I admired the way you cared for your patients, and showed interest in their lives outside of the clinic, asking about their vacations and commiserating on current events. But the most enlightening events were our final conversations, when you decided not to support my applications with feedback required by the schools. This decision, and the reasoning and advice behind it, have inspired me to no longer pursue physical therapy. Of course, I can't give you all the credit for my decision, but I find it hard to believe you couldn't have given me some evaluation, positive or negative, even after personally requesting it. Saying that I wasn't employed by you is not feedback. Even if you told me that you didn't think I was an appropriate fit for PT, that would have been at least some sort of feedback. Having required physical therapy at various times in my life, was I in for a fortunate surprise to go to Lori Alexander at The Physical Therapy Zone! She is thorough, knowledgeable, careful, and totally skilled. Just beginning my vacation, I was confronted with hardly being able to walk due to a calf injury. I can't believe it has taken me soooooo long to write a review! Grab a cup of coffee cause this is going to be a long one! So, last year I busted up my arm pretty good - no idea how - no crazy, awesome story involving a bar fight or wild night on the town - guess I'm just getting old... well, long story, short, I had to have rotator cuff surgery. Eight-ish weeks after surgery, my dr said it was time for rehab - I looked around for a place that would take my insurance and found one - well-rated( on yelp too. I went, for a couple of weeks - and hated it! I felt like a number, the physical therapist (PT) was assigned to work with me and three other patients - what should take 50 minutes took 90 because I had to wait for the PT to finished with other clients and come back to me. I was trying to do this PT on my lunch break and not have to take extra time off from work. After the 2nd week, I felt as though I wasn't progressing - I said something to the PT, but I was just stared at blankly. I finally wised up and began looking for another PT. That's when I found Lori! Lori runs her own shop - she is one on one with her client and I loved that!!! She's a petite thing - and my first day I thought, yeah, she's not gonna have the power to apply the pressure to get my arm into motion, this is a lost cause... boy was I wrong!!! She like a stick of dynamite - and the more I whined, the more powerful she became :) She knew just what to do, when to do it, and how to do it! If I had questions, she had answers! I swear, I would complain and she would smile and tell me to push harder... but, ya know what, within a few weeks, I was moving my arm - I was lifting things - and I was getting back in this game they call life! Haha, just as I was whining less, complaining less, and working the PT harder, she cut me loose! No milking me or my insurance - she ran some tests and said I was where I needed to be - she is on the up and up. I hope I never have to be her client again, ;) but, if I ever do need a PT, she is on my speed dial! Thanks Lori for being awesome and helping me patch myself back up! read more

As a trainer and a group ex instructor, I have dealt with several overuse issues, and attended physical therapy multiple times at another clinic. While my experience at the other clinic was positive and effective, they are difficult to get an appointment with. When I suffered a recent neck injury I decided to try The Physical Therapy Zone because they hand a cancelation hours before and were able to see me immediately. What started as "trying something new" is now "I will never go back to the other guys" -- Lori is kind, attentive, and knowledgable. With her help, I have been able to go from pain that prevented me from functioning in my everyday life, to nearly pain-free in a matter of days. Lori spends time with her patients and truly listens to you. The atmosphere is one of genuine concern rather than "time's up, on to the next one!". I've been going to a physical therapist for my back for a while. Every time the pain threshold starts creeping up, I go back for a few visits. I've been to at least 5 different physical therapy practices. I had a great PT and she moved so I needed to find another. A good physical therapist is like finding a good doctor (difficult). I drove past the Physical Therapy zone and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. Lori is awesome and I highly recommend her.
