This restaurant came highly recommended. It is amazing pizza! Reasonably priced, full of flavour and cheese! Real bacon bits and tasty pepperoni. I love how the pizza toppings were on top of the cheese. And that the cheese went all the way to the crust. The pizza was very thick, I could only eat 3 pieces of 6 very slowly. I can definitely see where the other reviewers are coming from regarding service. I ate on the deck on a beautiful sunny day so I was a little more tolerant of slow service than I normally would be, however it is really slow. At one point us patio patrons began talking amongst ourselves as to whether the place was self serve. However, the service was friendly and attentive when present. It seemed as they had two waitresses working all tables on the deck, which caused some confusion with orders but eventually everyone got served. And the food is pretty good! My burger was a classic beef patty, just the basics, and the fries were delicious. Other meals, including the pizza, looked good as well. Prices might be in the high side but within reason, $15 for my order. So with two beers and tip I'm spending over $30 for lunch, hurts a bit! But on a beautiful afternoon in Bragg Creek, there aren't too many patios around for a post-ride meal, and this place is a reasonable choice if your not in a hurry. read more

Went here today during a pit stop on the way to Elbow Falls. Ordered our food to go, since I was traveling with a pug :). I got a veggie burger; my first tip-off that this was going to be a dry hockey puck should've been the topping list that went along with it - mozzarella, mayo, salsa; along with the standard lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. Since I wasn't looking for nacho toppings on my burger, I asked for it without the salsa (as well as sans mozzarella and mayo). I got it with a side of fries. Everyone else got the family style pizza, which had tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, pepperoni and (I think) ham and sausage. They told us the wait would be 20 minutes. I guess that was "Bistro Speak" for almost an hour. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded and everyone that ordered their food to stay seemed to get their food faster. By the time our food arrived, it was handed to us without a smile or any amenities. I asked for ketchup (who gives someone fries without ketchup? Savages.) and then when I asked for napkins I got 2. For four people. Awesome. The fries were okay. When the server handed me the closed styrofoam box, I opened it right away so they wouldn't steam in to a soggy sad mess. The same could not be said for the pizza, which I was told had a mushy crust. Someone mentioned that they were probably cold and perfunctory because we had ordered our food to go and were less likely to give a tip. Sigh. At the mercy of living in Bragg Creek, we come here for pizza now and again. BEWARE: Order pick up / take out. The sign above the cash register reads something along the lines of "good food takes time".....the excuse for usually very slow, very stressed out service. Each of the times we have eaten in, regardless of how busy it is, you wait longer than I can say is natural when you're making a pizza. Before the flood, we tried the veggie burgers - which Tiffany N. said were hockey pucks - and I will second that emotion. Kids chicken nuggets were out of a package and dinosaur shaped. "Good food takes time" to order from Sysco orrrrr..????? The pizza's used to be listed on the menu differently before the flood. Some of them are themed now - like one called the Saskatchewan or something. At any rate, they don't have a vegetarian pizza there anymore so when you order the pizza you have to order item by item and a large pizza ends up costing $30 or more - insanity. The service has never improved - we call ahead now and pick up our pizza. Curiously enough, on a side note, there is a washroom without a toilet. Strange. They have beer and desserts.....some days the server on-duty was too young to serve beer.....THAT was awesome. The pizza is GOOD. Very good. read more

Back in March, we found this little place nestled in Bragg Creek. Hard to find at first, it is in the main plaza there on the right side corner off the highway. We had a great experience, but it seemed that the other couple dining there had one issue? Not entirely sure. But anyway, we had the Irish nachos (great big mountain of goodness!) the large spinach salad and BBQ chicken pizza. The service was friendly, they were attentive and well managed on time. The staff seemed to have a family-type vibe to how they handled things it was pretty nice! Will come back another time to try their sandwiches. read more

Since moving to Bragg last year, my kids and I have been regulars at Mountain Bistro. My kids are quite particular and discerning when it comes to pizza, and they love the pizza from Mountain Bistro. We usually pick up and do take out and the service has always been fast, friendly and courteous. read more

Strange and unfriendly server really seems to hate her job or something. Doesn't matter how good the food is (it was okay), it's not worth being treated like an unwelcome visitor. Decided to try Bragg Creek for Friday night date night dinner. Found good reviews but old reviews of Mountain Bistro & Pizza so we took a chance and enjoyed it very much. There appeared to be a few local families and couples enjoying their meals. We started with beverages, had a very fresh salad perfectly dressed and the large Family Pizza. Brought home half the pizza as it was so filling. Staff were extremely friendly and service was good. We will return. read more

Stopped in here on the way back from Elbow Falls. The sign over the cash register reads, Good food takes Time, Thank you for your Patience" or something along those lines. We sat at 12:33 and ordered fish and chips, and pulled pork. Neither of which should take a long time. At 1:15 we left without ever seeing our food. Wow. We went in for lunch a couple weeks back and were greeted (if you could call it that) by a WITCH of a lady who really did not seem like she wanted to be there. She was very rude and dismissive, as if our money wasn't worth her time. We sat and placed our drink orders and while we waited around 5 minutes for a beer and a water, we were entertained by the in house entertainment, the obviously drunk woman sitting at the bar talking with the lady who greeted us, and the swearing and yelling coming from the kitchen. The lady who greeted and served us spoke very quiet, almost angry sounding, didnt smile, or exchange any sort of small talk or pleasantries, even when we attempted to converse with her. This place was empty and I now know why. Food took long, was very expensive, and NOT GOOD. Might be good enough for the wasted folks who wander in from the bar next door but excessive cheese, grease, and less than dog food quality meat is not my style. AVOID. Bragg creek has many other wonderful establishments, that offer a dining experience that actually matches the price tag. hell, evenCarls Jr. had better service, better food and a nicer atmosphere. read more
