They have burger specials - I thought yawn - but the criss crossed bacon and the blue cheese spoke to me and the crisp garden salad was a total success - I've gone back for three or four different versions - the staff are all pros and are there to do their jobs. They do the place proud. I go pretty regularly with my mates and sit at my little regular spot till the band comes to play. Then my table in right in the line of fire ! But that's fine it's time for me to go home abd play my synthesizer and make room for the next hungry trio ! Hard to go wrong at this place - the owners have been working at pubs for decades and its shows ! The British Pub Heritage plays out strong at this western style eatery that's been going since the 70's. We stopped in for a bite on our way back to Calgary. My two friends got the steak and said it was pretty good. I got chicken bites which were..ya know..chicken bites. Not much to say about those other than standard! The interior of this place is really cool, so much decor, saddle seats, funny signs etc. Service was good as well. read more

Most of the reviews for this place I am looking at on here are well over a year old. I went tonight after a long hike in the Bragg Creek area. My group showed up right around close and the staff there was considerate enough to let us in and keep the kitchen open for a round of burgers and fries (which both were great). Burgers plus a couple pitchers of beer = great recovery fuel after hiking. Maybe we got lucky tonight, or maybe the staff on hand tonight were amazing! read more

Not sure how this place is still in business, the food is disgusting, the service is brutal and it smells like sewage inside.

We wanted breakfast-brunch & being a holiday, this was the only place serving breakfast. We waited more than an hour for our food. When we inquired they said it was coming. The service was terrible-like they forgot about us, our order and then they comped the meal. They had no explanation as to what the problem was. When the meal came the order was completely wrong. I ordered scrambled eggs and they came sunny side up. My friend ordered bacon and she got sausage. They handed us empty condiments, never came back to see how anything was, nor did they offer us more coffee or find out if we wanted anything else. Not in a hurry to go back there. read more

Worst service ever. An hour after having ordered our food the waitress came to "check" on us, we told her we were hungry and her reply was that she was hungry too. Then she walked away. She came back a while later (still no sight of our food) and asked us if we were still hungry...in the meantime all tables around us (most of them arrived after us) were getting their food. We asked how long we still had to wait and she replied to us that they were very slow in the kitchen. We asked if she could please check on our food and she told us that it was better if she didn't "p@@s off the kitchen workers". After one hour and a half we decided to leave and she was totally unfazed by this. We never had the chance to try any of the food, but we sure experienced the worst service ever. read more

Went out for lunch with a couple of hikers before hitting the mountains. I ordered the taco salad, expecting a small salad. A massive shell came from the kitchen absolutely loaded with fresh veg and covered with cheese and seasoned beef. Probably the best taco salad I've ever had! Couldn't finish my meal! Post hike beer. We head here at least a few times a year since we live in West Bragg. Usually for drinks - the food is just "ok" so we try not to eat there. Standard pub fare,so not the healthiest options. This Saturday there was some live entertainment and a lot of out of towners. The entertainment was mostly instrumental...."Fromage Chaude" (Hot cheese????) mandolin & accordion duo. Played a lot of world music covers. The sound was ok once it was turned down a bit. We ordered a Polar Bear & a Keiths to drink. Ordered Calamari and 1/2 order of nachos for a snack. Our order was not submitted and had to be taken again - probably took an hour of our lives we'll never get back. I wish I would've taken a picture of the nachos - someone put a handful of chips and a brick of cheese in a salamander or microwave and let 'er rip. There was not one chip that hadn't become the consistencey of wet cardboard because it was soaked in oil from the cheese. You couldn't actually see past the cheese and had to dig through it to find chips. I love cheese....but this was gross - couldn't finish the 1/2 order between two of us after a crazy hike. Calamari was burnt. Burned. Charred. Looked like deep-fried baby bellybuttons, tasted like a heart attack. Thinking about them now makes me want to puke. I'll still go back - but I'll have to be drunk to eat the food. Great atmosphere, watch a game here, live bands....eat before you arrive. read more

We were in Bragg creek and decided to stop for lunch. They had some construction going on in their parking lot but no big deal. The service was very fast and the waitresses were very nice. The food was really great! I got a wrap and was really happy with it. The service sizes were awesome. The only downside was be fries. They were soggy and didn't have much taste. The ambience here truly captures the old west! We've been twice and really enjoyed our first visit. Filled with locals, a real country music band, and we had great food! Our last visit wasn't as good, as nobody served us for at least 10 minutes so I went and asked for a server. It then took about 5-10 more minutes for her to come by our table. But she was funny and nice so somewhat made up for it. Food this time was not very good :( We had poutine and it had shredded cheese on it, not cheese curds, so it wasn't actually poutine. Such a great atmosphere and we had such a great time on our first visit that we will definitely return! read more

We always have a great time at the Powderhorn in Bragg Creek. We stop by the Powderhorn Saloon after a solid dirt bike ride to have a beer and food. Food is great and they have a great beer selection. They often have some local musician, which provides great entertainment. I recommend stopping by the Powderhorn Saloon. read more

I'm a fan of those roadhouse-type bars you'll find in the middle of nowhere in Montana and Idaho. Those side-of-the-highway bars that allows the locals to converge for a beer or four. Almost always, there's a lot of character in these places. Throw in a band, and perhaps a pretty good time. Sadly, nothing really like that exists around here. I guess it has something to do with booze + cars + no taxis +highways = bad. Well, one weekday evening the Powderhorn Saloon in Bragg Creek was happened upon. More by default, as it seemed everything else in town was closed. But that's ok. We were thirsty, and we could make it work. Stepping through swinging saloon doors, it did kinda have that rural bar vibe going on. It was almost empty, but still had potential. Only beer was consumed--no food--so I can't judge too much. But I liked being there. A small stage to the side meant a lively weekend evening could be possible. read more

Well I have come to this place pre-covid and always liked it. However after today I don't think I will be going back. I understand everyone has different personal beliefs about COVID regulations, and that's fine you can rant about it on social media. But when your servers have blatant disregard for customers health and safety that's where I draw the line. Especially as someone who works in health care. I could hear the server one table down loudly proclaim to the customer who asked her about why she wasn't wearing a mask that "it's not as big of a deal as they are making it out to be. And if you don't like it, leave". Its our choice to eat at this establishment, yes. And I won't be coming back. She was also very close to customers and talking directly into their face. Is that really necessary?? Could you maybe try to distance yourself the best you can? Very disappointed at this behavior. And had me questioning the typical hygiene practices in this establishment. I take family and friends regularly to the Powderhorn Saloon in Bragg Creek as the food is fresh, home cooked and delicious! Staff are friendly, food knowledgeable and leave a sense of "valued customer". The country decor with branded wooden panel walls and flooring adds to the ambiance. I have never had a bad meal or experience and would highly recommend anyone wanting a little piece of heaven in the country to give it a whirl! My favourite meals include the Powderhorn Burger, Grilled Chuckwagon Chicken burger and Steak sandwich served with homemade potato and sweet potato fries. read more

Came here because we were out for a drive - however - I will NEVER come back here again. Our waitress was soooo dumb! I'm not usually so rude - but that's the only way to describe her. I asked her for a crown float - when she gave me a crazy look - I said it's guiness with cider / she then brought me a glass of cider and a separate glass of guiness - I tried to explain the drink to her / she was stunned and said "we don't do that here". This is the drink I have drank all over North America - first time I've seen that response. The Sunday drink special is called a Cowboy Caesar - basically a Caesar with pickles - an assortment of greens - my husband could not purchase one because he asked that it contain no alcohol- WTF?????? We ate our 1/2 raw - not cooked in the middle so we had raw cheese - for the 2nd time - the first plate she brought out - we showed her the raw cheese / she brought out another plate with the EXACT same issue - Never again read more
