My husband and I just moved in. We chose an updated unit. This is our first place since moving away from home as we are newly married we had a great experience with our move-in maintenance and management have been more than wonderful. We moved in here on April 15, 2022, which was the same day we were allowed to view our unit, which was suppose to be CLEANED and ready for new residents. The second we walked through the door there were so many issues. NOTHING was cleaned, the unit looked like it was cleaned out (empty) but absolutely nothing was detail cleaned from the previous tenants. The fridge they left us with had COCKROACHES large and small crawling out of it. The water heater closet must not have been opened or looked at in ten years with roaches, garbage food wrappers and humongous spider webs in each corner. We were buying roach spray out of pocket until someone else came to "spray." Our bath tub water constantly runs and leaks and the front shower completely doesn't turn on. 10 days after moving in we discovered a LARGE WHITE RAT that scurried from the bathroom to my sons bedroom, and eventually to out kitchen in a huge hole behind our stove. Today is day 12 and I found rat droppings on the couch in my sons room. Assuming these were from the previous rat I took videos and moved on for a minute. Turns out I was wrong my son I are currently hiding on my bed from a SEPARATE RAT, a brown one this one I saw while my son was lying on the floor in his bouncer and the rat ran right past his head and into my closet, and then into my sons room. read more

August 2019: First, they didn't have a unit to show me, so Mandee said I would have to pay the deposit in advance (not even seeing it) in order to secure it. The one she showed me looked nicer than either of the ones I was offered. About the $350 non refundable deposit. This means as long as you are paid up and follow the lease you really don't have to clean your apt when leaving. This was evident in the two units I tried in my stint with this location. My first unit was not clean and had many issues. They stressed that once I signed the lease what happens inside the unit is my responsibility. The day I signed the lease the carpet guy was finishing up on laminate by the doorway. I left and returned later in the evening, and the worker was gone, but my unit was left unlocked. What if I had decided not to come back that night? My unit (which I am now responsible for) was available to be destroyed. I was told they like to periodically come by and change the filters and check the smoke alarm. All good things, except neither unit I was offered had a filter. Then I thought, what happens if they once again forget to lock my unit, and I'm at work, but it's my responsibility. There were big waves in the carpeting. Everything needed cleaning including the windows. Property is 25 years old and floors creak badly in all units. No one is allowed to complain about this per the property manager. It's just the way it is. I couldn't stand the creaking so Mandee said we could try another apartment. So, I moved to the second apartment. The second unit I agreed to take ended up to be a former smokers apt. Mandee, the property mgr really did not want to confirm that it had been occupied by a smoker. She said they encouraged tenants to smoke outside. As I was starting to move in, it was evident that it was not true because there were cigarette burns in the bedroom carpet, kitchen and bathrooms. As I moved in, the smoke smell seemed to increase. Washing the woodwork and every surface didn't help. The rags turned black. There was a ring of smoke residue around the dinette light over where the table was. One evening as I was trying to air the apartment, I discovered a couple of smokers lived downstairs because they were outside smoking. As the week went on I came home every night to a stronger smell of smoke in my apt. (I don't smoke btw). I think as my neighbors below were smoking, it was rising and coming into my unit thru the thin creaky floors. An online article said that smoke travels thru walls and floors. The last night it smelled so bad I had to get out. The property kept $485 (1 week rent and $350 deposit) all for my being there 1 week. I moved my stuff to a storage unit. I came back an hour later and the storage unit smelled like the apt. I tried to talk w/the property mgr about it being dirty/smoke smell and Mandee did not want to discuss this. She said we had two different meanings of clean. Be sure to read all the other reviews that are posted online about this place...choose wisely. If you ever rent from them please! please! please! Pay your rent on time, never have a noise disturbance, no complaints whatsoever and you WILL be evicted!!! I didn't renew my lease and was served civil suit papers at my apartment when I was in class at OTC. I was never served!!!! They gave my learning disabled son and myself 5 days to vacate....This place is horrible!! Ive had multiple things stolen, broke from my patio. I have had a toilet that overflows for a year, went without a stove for 3 weeks, only two burners worked since day one, Mold around the windows, high high high electric bills, went without a water heater for 2 weeks and barely had hot water from day one, dishwasher doesn't work, no locks on sliding glass doors and front door lock would not lock. Drug deals daily, cops daily, poor management and overflowing trash all over the grounds. Very disgusting ghetto to call home.....I feel sorry for whoever rents here. The worst experience I have had renting an apartment. The apartment manager and maintenance would come through apartments once every month for "inspection" or to "spray for bugs." I didn't like that because I value my privacy. Even though they sprayed for bugs I ended up with some type of spider bite that put me in the emergency room. While I lived there it seemed like every other day there would be some kind of commotion that involved police on the premises. Living on the bottom floor is horrible. I had loud neighbors above me and I could not get any sleep. When I complained to the manager, she did nothing to resolve the problem. Each year my rent went up $10 from what I had been paying the year before. At the end of my lease I received an outrageous bill claiming that I would have to pay for rugs and vinyl and screens, things which they did not switch out before I moved in. I made a check list when I moved in. They were suppose to keep it on file but somehow they could not find it, thinking they were going to keep my deposit. If it wasn't for me having my own copy of the checklist I would have been screwed. Management is unprofessional and unorganized. My overall stay at this complex was a huge hassle. We moved in at the end of April, and we've had problems ever since. Our stove only had one working burner, and our bathroom sink leaks. We reported the problems the first week, and nothing was fixed. My first electric bill was almost $400! and since then, it's been around $300 a month. We've been trying for 6 months now to get the problems fixed, but they will not do anything. We are still unable to use our bathroom sink, because it floods the bathroom. Our meter spins at outrageous speeds (5x or more faster than everyone else's), we have videos, and they claim that it goes at the same rate as everyone elses. Maintenance doesn't do a whole lot, but walk around pretending to be busy. After much complaining, they finally brought us a new stove that works, but I care a lot more about our $300 electric bill. When I asked if they would move us to a different apartment, they said that I would have to pay a new pet deposit ($300) and a $99 moving fee. They keep telling us that they've sent maintenance down to check all of our appliances several times, but we've never seen him..not even once, and we work nights, so we're home all day. The apartments themselves are nice, but the people that run the place are awful. I wouldn't recommend it. read more
