We contacted Maria from Mountain Creations a few days before Thanksgiving. She came over on Friday of the same week to look at our property and discuss what we needed. By the next Monday she had a design and proposal for us, incorporating our requests for something low-maintenance and eco-friendly, but beautiful and colorful. After a few modifications (she is very flexible and accommodating) we signed the contract and she got to work coordinating the whole project - brought in the landscaper with whom she works, took us to a wholesale nursery to choose the plants and referred us to the company where we chose the lighting. She even connected us with a gardener who will keep our new yard looking perfect. All this was completed - start to finish, in less than three weeks. Marie did an outstanding job helping my husband and me translate our need for a water wise yet still very welcoming front yard into a postcard perfect entrance to our home. She used a "soft design" approach that allowed us to fine tune as we went through initial design through plant selection (she takes you with her to the nursery to make sure you are part of the process) to plant placement in our yard to make sure the final product was exactly what we wanted and more. We now have neighbors from our entire subdivision knock on our door to tell us how much they enjoy walking past our home and enjoying our yard. And, with all of this, we are saving on our water bill! Maria takes the time to get to know her clients and works with you. She is honest, reliable and keeps coming back until the project meets not just your expectations but her high standards as well. We had a small problem with one section of the re-worked yard. Maria replaced the plants twice and brought her crew back to figure out what was wrong and make sure everything was as she promised it would be. We hired Maria to help us complete our landscaping project. She met with us, and I gave her what I envisioned for the type of look I wanted for our garden. She designed the garden with the exact look I was seeking. She met my husband and I at the nursery and zipped thru, helping us pick the types, colors, and quantity of plants needed for the front and back yards. We even got her discount at the nursery. Then she came to the house, made sure we had the correct soil to maintain long plant life, and placed the plants in the location she knew they woudl thrive. I had no idea that it was possible to hire someone with her expertise to essentially make a house call to consult on landscape design and maintenance until a business associate introduced us to her. Worked with Maria to design a landscape for our backyard. It was quite a challenge since we recently removed seven mature (~35 yrs. old) redwood trees. We hired Maria to help us find a replacement for our lawn and to change our front yard landscaping. Our experience throughout the entire process was fantastic. Maria is very creative, knowledgable, helpful, and patient. She is there every step of the way. We had a number of requirements in what we wanted, drought tolerant, deer resistant, low maintenance, etc. She came up with wonderful designs and if we wanted changes, she was more than happy to modify her design.
