My family spent Thanksgiving together in a Mountain Oasis Cabin located in Ellijay Georgia. I must say that it was the great mini family vacation and we all come from different parts of the country. The view from our cabin sunrise and sunset where absolutely beautiful. Now let's talk about the cabin, Upon rival we were greeted by numerous lady bugs and spiders which continued to visit us on a daily basis. On Thanksgiving evening we had the pleasure of having a infestation of ants coming through the kitchen wall. We had three levels a bedroom on each, my daughter and her husband were up above me as I was on the first level. I could hear every single word of there conversation, to trying get comfortable in bed, and using to the bathroom. One morning my son-in-law and I had a conversation through the floor, it was so clear precise it was like he was standing right in front of me. Ridiculous! Let's talk about the beds my particular bed as well as my daughters bed would squeak constantly you could not move your pillow without the bed squeaking if there was a way to put the recording inside of this review I would and it was so bad that I recorded it. You don't expect your mattress to be as comfortable as your own but when it feels like you're sleeping on a piece of plywood, which is what it felt like I was sleeping on daily. My son and his family were on the lower level adjacent to the hot tub. There is a crib in that room that my daughter-in-law felt unsafe using as it was unstable. It was absolutely freezing down there as there is one thermostat which is located on the main level. Therefore when the first level gets to The temperature on the thermostat it no longer provide heat to any area of the house. My granddaughter actually had to sleep in the loft area as it was too cold for her on the lower level. Come to find out there was actually a huge draft coming through the lower level door that connects to the outside. They covered the draft area with numerous towels, which did make it a tad bit warmer. Bathroom showers are all hit or miss might have a hot shower or a cold one...ugh The kitchen was a small U shaped one with dishwasher, flat top stove, and refrigerator. There were four barstools at the counter. Small round kitchen table with stools know chairs with backs. The living room had two recliners and a sleep sofa all where leather. They all need to be replaced the recliners are actually peeling and lumpy and bumpy. The sofa..lol as soon as you sat down in one of the three cushions you started to slide back and get lost within the couch. There is the rug in between the living room furniture that at first glance looks like a normal rug only to step on it or touch it and you realize that it's this hard plastic material that not only hurt your feet but you can't sit on the floor as is hurtful to sit on. Let's talk about the great things about the cabin. Great view, Fully stocked kitchen with pots pans, utensils, dinnerware ,cups glasses, mini appliances washer & dryer, porch swing, and fireplace. My family liked the Jacuzzi even though it was broken and it only worked on one speed and the jets did not work. This seems to be a continuing problem as going onto mountain oasis cabin rental a prior renter of this property had the same issue. Two stars for the view and the porch swing and the fireplace.

I do not like to post negative reviews but want to make sure people know what they are getting for their money. Classic case of online vs. reality, things are not always as they appear. We recently returned from a stay at Carter's Lake Lodge and the cabin condition is not as it appears online, by far. It is clear that property management is not a high-priority for Mountain Oasis as we found several obvious items that made it clear that the property has been neglected for some time. We did reach out to them and made them aware but as a customer it should not be our job to let them know the upkeep is lacking. They did not offer a single apology nor any type of restitution for our troubles and the misleading condition of this cabin. Please see additional items and photos included. -Railing on porch is rotten and posts falling out -Microwave held together by a terrible gorilla glue job and electrical tape -Handle on downstairs sink falling off -Mold in the downstairs shower -Pots in the kitchen missing handles -Bedding tattered and had holes -Numerous chairs by fire pit broken -Pillows old and foul smell -Faulty fire-alarm that abruptly woke us from sleep during the morning of our last day. No fire, no one cooking, the alarm kept sounding for at least 1.5 hours causing us to leave early on our last morning as it would not stop and the property manager could not figure out the issue either We had hoped to enjoy our trip and were not looking for a problem however several obvious problems found us! Maybe if this cabin was advertised for $1000 for three nights it would have been different but we paid $1700 for three nights and did not get what we paid for by far. Beware before booking with this company!

Two different addresses in one email - neither is correct according to Google Maps which works perfectly fine to navigate you there.

We stayed at the Carter's Lake Lodge this past July. My first point of contention was the fact that the rental company, Mountain Oasis Cabin Rentals, could not properly identify the street the cabin is on. Had they simply given us the correct address, we could have shaved an hour off our drive. Instead, the email with directions literally had TWO different addresses (100 Lakeside Park Cir AND 100 Lakeside Trail - I'll try to attach a picture) for the cabin and, once in the cabin, a third address was posted on the refrigerator. The cabin itself was nice though it could use a bit more attention to cleaning details and a few maintenance issues. For example, a couple of the dining room chairs are not safe to use and the pool table is in laughably bad condition. Additionally, the hot tub's jet feature is not working properly. We dealt with the issues in kind; however, we did feel compelled to call about the hot tub issue since it was a primary reason we chose this cabin over others that were nicer or cheaper. Unfortunately my complaint to the management company was met first with silence followed by a blanket statement that they are not responsible for equipment malfunctions. This is ludicrous. They then followed up by telling me they sent a repairman out after we'd departed and he didn't find any problems with the hot tub. This, also, is ridiculous - I am not so simple minded that I can't figure out how to turn on the hot tub but that is what they are suggesting. Finally I'd like to point out how they like to charge by the occupant to the point they imply that they will be watching you to see how many people actually show up. This is just creepy. Are they using cameras? Are the driving by to check up on you? No idea. It should be noted that if you have an extra occupant (say your daughter's boyfriend tags along) they will drop the hammer on you by charging you for the extra occupant AND a penalty fee; HOWEVER, if, like in our case, some people can't make it at the last minute, there is not even a thought about refunding you for the lower occupant count. In conclusion, if you can find another rental company to work with, you should. This one is all about watching out for number one which is NOT you, the customer.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!! This is the message that I sent to them along with the pictures, It appears they don't care at all about their customers!! We stayed at the cabin July 16 to the morning of the 19th. We left your cabin at 0815 this morning well prior to your 11 am deadline as we were ready to be done with it. I had attempted to email you but the internet at the cabin would not send with all attachments. I got an automated response and so I called the number at 706-276-4343 as directed. I spoke with a young female that didn't really seem concerned with our issues but did make an effort to make excuses for what we found. I'm not sure who you utilize to clean but this was ridiculous. I fixed the clogged non working vacuum cleaner you have here as It was not working due to being clogged with years of dirt, hair and dust. I also washed the porches since there was grease and foil caked into the top under the grill. I took the fork that has been under the master bed for what appears to be years and washed it, placing it back in the drawer. Also threw away someone's slippers we found under the Livingroom table while cleaning. I found Hair balls and a t-shirt wadded up behind the small chest in the second bedroom closet. The TV in the second bedroom will turn on, using the button on the set but all you can watch is snow as it has no signal from any source. The glider rocker in the master bedroom had hair balls and dust on the leg floor pads. Found Hair balls and a chocolate candy under the couch in the living room. I also tightened up the door handle at the bottom of the stairs that was about to fall off. Would've loved having a cup of coffee before we had to start cleaning your cabin properly, but alas no coffee filters for the Mr. Coffee maker. I passed on signing your guest book because it appears that any negative comment or review is ripped out anyway

However there were a few hiccups: 1) The master bedroom has a ladybug infestation. I chalked it up to season and Blue Sky being unaware until I picked up the visitor journal and noticed several before us also complained. Shame on you guys for not fixing already. 2) Secondary bedroom has a cute bunkbed. Unfortunately the top bunk is not able to be used because the frame has a major split. Very dangerous. 3) The driveway/parking is also very dangerous. We were told we could not enter neighbors property but there is not possible way to enter and leave without doing so. My husband is a farmer and is very use to maneuvering vehicles/equipment but found himself cussing every time we arrived or left. 4) We were issued 4 towels for 4 people for 5 days AND there was no detergent to wash towels. 5) Lastly, the hot water heater gave out after two showers (short showers). This left 1-2 people taking cold showers. As I said, the cabin has potential but the rental company or the owners need to do a better job keeping up with the issues!i

Our family stayed at Timber Trail Lodge, managed by Blue Sky Cabin Rentals, expecting a relaxing vacation. Instead, we experienced multiple safety issues, the most serious of which involved a loaded handgun being discovered inside the cabin. On Friday evening, our 8-year-old son came out of the bathroom and said, "I found something that scared me." He later told us he was tempted to touch it because he had heard a noise and thought it might belong to a "bad guy." Thankfully, he remembered the gun safety lesson taught by his school resource officer: if you ever find a gun, don't touch it, leave the area, and immediately get an adult. That decision may have prevented a tragedy. We went into the bathroom and discovered a handgun on a low shelf that was easily accessible to a child. My husband secured it so our children could not access it while we called for help. We immediately contacted Blue Sky Cabin Rentals' after-hours emergency line. The representative was apologetic but told us she didn't know how to handle the situation. We informed her that we were calling local law enforcement because a loaded firearm had been found inside the cabin. A police officer responded, took an official report, and confirmed the firearm was loaded. According to the police report, it was a Taurus PT-111 G2 with a magazine containing 12 rounds. We expected this to trigger an immediate response from management. Instead, no manager contacted us that evening. Aside from a follow-up call the next morning asking whether we had contacted the police, we were left to deal with the situation ourselves. My husband ultimately had to contact management again on Monday to discuss everything that had occurred. Unfortunately, the firearm was not the only issue with this property. The cabin appeared to have been inadequately cleaned before our arrival. We found dirty underwear and socks left under the beds from previous guests, excessive dust, and dead bugs in closets and beneath furniture. There were also several maintenance and safety concerns: * A nail protruding from a dining chair punctured a family member's skin. * The third-story catwalk railing overlooking the main living area felt loose and raised concerns about fall safety. * One of the beds collapsed under normal use. * We had no hot water on our first night. The company eventually issued a partial refund, and we appreciate that acknowledgment. However, a refund does not change the seriousness of what happened. As parents, we keep thinking about how differently that evening could have ended if our son had acted on his curiosity instead of remembering the safety lesson he had been taught. We are incredibly proud of him and forever grateful to his school resource officer for teaching children what to do if they ever encounter a firearm. We are sharing this review because families deserve to know about our experience before deciding whether to book this property. We sincerely hope Blue Sky Cabin Rentals reviews its cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and emergency response procedures so that no other family experiences what ours did.
