I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families can make an informed decision. Our family stayed at Timber Trail Lodge, managed by Blue Sky Cabin Rentals, expecting a relaxing vacation. Instead, we experienced multiple safety issues, the most serious of which involved a loaded handgun being discovered inside the cabin. On Friday evening, our 8-year-old son came out of the bathroom and said, "I found something that scared me." He later told us he was tempted to touch it because he had heard a noise and thought it might belong to a "bad guy." Thankfully, he remembered the gun safety lesson taught by his school resource officer: if you ever find a gun, don't touch it, leave the area, and immediately get an adult. That decision may have prevented a tragedy. We went into the bathroom and discovered a handgun on a low shelf that was easily accessible to a child. My husband secured it so our children could not access it while we called for help. We immediately contacted Blue Sky Cabin Rentals' after-hours emergency line. The representative was apologetic but told us she didn't know how to handle the situation. We informed her that we were calling local law enforcement because a loaded firearm had been found inside the cabin. A police officer responded, took an official report, and confirmed the firearm was loaded. According to the police report, it was a Taurus PT-111 G2 with a magazine containing 12 rounds. We expected this to trigger an immediate response from management. Instead, no manager contacted us that evening. Aside from a follow-up call the next morning asking whether we had contacted the police, we were left to deal with the situation ourselves. My husband ultimately had to contact management again on Monday to discuss everything that had occurred. Unfortunately, the firearm was not the only issue with this property. The cabin appeared to have been inadequately cleaned before our arrival. We found dirty underwear and socks left under the beds from previous guests, excessive dust, and dead bugs in closets and beneath furniture. There were also several maintenance and safety concerns: * A nail protruding from a dining chair punctured a family member's skin. * The third-story catwalk railing overlooking the main living area felt loose and raised concerns about fall safety. * One of the beds collapsed under normal use. * We had no hot water on our first night. The company eventually issued a partial refund, and we appreciate that acknowledgment. However, a refund does not change the seriousness of what happened. As parents, we keep thinking about how differently that evening could have ended if our son had acted on his curiosity instead of remembering the safety lesson he had been taught. We are incredibly proud of him and forever grateful to his school resource officer for teaching children what to do if they ever encounter a firearm. We are sharing this review because families deserve to know about our experience before deciding whether to book this property. We sincerely hope Blue Sky Cabin Rentals reviews its cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and emergency response procedures so that no other family experiences what ours did. read more

We rented Cherry Log Sky Bear for a mini vacay. The cabin itself has mad potential. It's very small and quaint. Perfect for our family of four to relax and rejuvenate. However there were a few hiccups: 1) The master bedroom has a ladybug infestation. I chalked it up to season and Blue Sky being unaware until I picked up the visitor journal and noticed several before us also complained. Shame on you guys for not fixing already. 2) Secondary bedroom has a cute bunkbed. Unfortunately the top bunk is not able to be used because the frame has a major split. Very dangerous. 3) The driveway/parking is also very dangerous. We were told we could not enter neighbors property but there is not possible way to enter and leave without doing so. My husband is a farmer and is very use to maneuvering vehicles/equipment but found himself cussing every time we arrived or left. 4) We were issued 4 towels for 4 people for 5 days AND there was no detergent to wash towels. 5) Lastly, the hot water heater gave out after two showers (short showers). This left 1-2 people taking cold showers. As I said, the cabin has potential but the rental company or the owners need to do a better job keeping up with the issues!i read more

Our experience with Blue Sky Cabin Rentals was absolutely unacceptable, and I would never recommend this company to anyone. The one star is only because we eventually gained access to the cabin--otherwise, it would be zero. On our first night, the keypad battery on the cabin door lock died, and we were locked out with groceries and a hot dinner that quickly turned cold. We called the after-hours number, but it took nearly 45 minutes for anyone to get back to us. To make matters worse, the cabin had a lockbox with a backup key, but Blue Sky had previously given us the wrong code--so that option was useless until they finally responded. When I spoke with management, their attitude was dismissive. I was told, "these things happen sometimes." My response was that if this is a known issue, batteries should be checked and changed more regularly to prevent guests from being stranded outside. She asked if I wanted them to change the battery the next day. We said no, since we now had access to the key and preferred to use that for the rest of our stay. Shockingly, when we returned later that day, someone from the company had entered the cabin without our consent and changed the battery anyway--directly against my request. This was extremely unsettling, as we had no idea what was done in our absence with all of our personal belongings inside. It is completely unacceptable for a company to enter a rental property without guest approval. After checkout, management promised to call me, but instead I received a call the following week. Their resolution? A measly 15% off our next stay--assuming we would ever rent from them again. When I explained that we would not, I was told that's all they could offer and to "have a great day." We rent vacation homes 4-5 times a year all over the U.S., and we have never had such a terrible experience. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service from this company is shocking. There are far better options in the area--Escape to Blue Ridge, for example, has always been magnificent. We only booked through Blue Sky because we liked the look of this particular cabin, but never again. Save your money, your time, and your peace of mind--do not book with Blue Sky Cabin Rentals. read more

This was our second Ellijay, Georgia mini vacation with Blue Sky Cabin Rentals, and our first at the Hidden Valley Paradise cabin. The four-day rental was with two other married couples. The cabin had more than enough room for six people with its three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The main level of the cabin contains a spacious living and kitchen area, and there is also a very large game room area on the terrace level. The cabin is also pet friendly, and there are permanent pet accommodations if you decide to bring a furry companion. The main bedroom has a private balcony. There is a trout stream in front of the cabin, and large wraparound decks on both levels of the cabin. The terrace level game room houses a pool table and jacuzzi. Our stay was pleasant as we also enjoyed local attractions such as horseback riding, zip lining and wine tasting in the nearby towns. This is a nice cabin if you want to get away from it all, while it is also close enough to town if you desire companionship. I am sure we will be back for a future visit. read more

Wow the "Mountain Mist" cabin was beyond our expectations :)  The space was perfect for our leadership retreat, and the view in the back was spectacular - enjoyable from the outdoor deck on the main and top floors. At night we could hear a symphony of all kinds of creatures! We had a group of 12, and rented 3 different cabins - I think "Mountain Mist" was the best, and it became the central meeting place.  The outdoor deck on the main floor has a nice gas grill and seating area. Around the corner is another great seating area with fire pit - perfect for hanging out and making s'mores. They also have a nice-size hot tub although we didn't take advantage of it.  Cabin has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths ... you could fit up to 10 people. We had 5 people - so each person had their own room. Main floor has a master w/ large master bath - one queen bed. Main floor also has one powder room, living room incl. big flatscreen TV, dining room, and kitchen. Upstairs has two bedrooms w/ shared bath in the hallway and a nice seating area - one room w/ queen bed, other room with two twin beds. Downstairs has two bedrooms w/ shared bath - each room with one queen bed. Downstairs also has a full kitchen and living area.  Driveway was super steep and they have a parking area that could fit at least 4 vehicles.  The cabin was very clean when we arrived.  Kitchen has all the basics like plates, mugs, glasses, utensils, pans, etc. However they only supply one paper towel roll and just one toilet roll for each bathroom - so definitely bring more toilet paper! Kitchen has tiny dishwashing soap + dishwasher soap - you'll need to bring your own sponge and gloves. You'll also want to bring your own plastic wrap, aluminum foil, ziplocs - if you need them. They have a coffee maker but you'll need to bring coffee and filters. Fridge has a nice water & ice dispenser which was awesome - however I heard the other cabins did not. Bathroom toiletries include tiny shampoo & shower gel, and regular size liquid hand soap. Look for the all-important binder - it includes WIFI info, and instructions for checking out (e.g., take all linens & towels to the laundry room, all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on before check-out, take out trash, etc.).  We will definitely be back! Review of Blue Sky Cabin Rentals - Disappointing Management and Deceptive Policies We have been loyal guests of Blue Sky Cabin Rentals for several years, staying twice a year at a fantastic, well-maintained cabin in a gated community in North Georgia. Given my husband's allergy to pet hair, finding a consistently clean rental was a rare and valuable find for our family. However, due to the company's poor management and misleading promotional policies, we will no longer be booking with them. Recently, they advertised a one-day-only sale in which all additional fees--totaling over $350 for a four-night stay--would be waived. Wanting to take advantage of the promotion, I called to cancel our existing May reservation (fully expecting to pay the cancellation fee) and rebook for a different week in May. To my surprise, I was told that because I was changing dates instead of making a "new" reservation, I would still have to pay all the fees, despite rebooking on the day of the sale. Their refusal to honor the advertised deal in this situation felt deceptive and entirely unfair to a returning customer. I had also planned to book a November stay, but after this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I doubt the property owners we've rented from would be pleased to know that Blue Sky Cabin Rentals is driving away repeat guests due to inflexible and misleading policies. Fortunately, there are plenty of other rental companies in North Georgia, and I encourage others to explore better-managed alternatives. read more

We stayed at the cabin called A Golden Retreat. This cabin was beautiful and amazing. Literally you bring your clothes and the food you want to cook. They have EVERYTHING else, family games, pool table down stairs, jacuzzi, bond fire area, outside fireplace, everything you possibly would need to cook. This is literally a home away from home. Beds were super comfortable. The views are amazing. You have so much you can do, or you can do nothing and just be. Whatever your heart desires. I will be back very soon. read more

I'll start by saying they were aware of these problems as that seems to be their rebuttal. Upon arriving I turned the sink on and the sprayer shot off soaking me and the ceiling. The hot tub had not been turned on and the water was stagnant and gross. Was told the breaker went off but oddly enough didn't go off all week. The dishes were dirty, blender had old water and mold in the bottom. Ice maker didn't work so be prepared to buy ice each day. Filter light was also on so gross. Blue chair on top deck was broken and my son was dumped out of it. Spider webs reminded me of the Adams Family. They did not occur recently, been there quite awhile. Grill had leaked grease all over bottom deck so careful there. Gigantic tree halfway down, leering over driveway. Dangerous. Game table downstairs was dirty, I cleaned it so we could use it. Trash and dead bugs were on the floor, by garbage, beside deck. Toilet paper holder broken. Neither coffee pot worked, one not at all and the other one had a filter cone that was too big. Total paid was right at $3000 but they generously refunded $360, I'm assuming for the loss of hot tub the first 24 hours. The DELLINGER CABIN should not even be on the market until it's actually ready for guest. By far the worst place we have ever been. read more

I stayed with my family at Starry Night Lodge. The cabin is beautiful and very warm and welcoming. Thebookingprocess was easy. Unfortunately, we somehow managed to lock ourselves out on the second story deck at night when the temp was 20 degrees and falling. My kids were in their pajamas. The small locking tab on the door handle must have been turned without us realizing it. There was no exit on the deck. We had to break the lock to get back in. We immediately notified Blue Sky once we were back inside. We then stopped and spoke to Nicole Jones, operations manager, at the office prior to leaving. She was quite condescending when she spoke to us. I had suggested some things they could do to prevent this situation from happening to someone else and she was very dismissive. Luckily, none of us were harmed but it could have ended differently. I will not rent from Blue Sky Cabins Rentals again because they do not make your safety at their cabins their top priority! read more

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and clean, however the company itself, Blue Sky was disappointing. Empathy and communication were lacking here. I called Sunday when I was supposed to check in, to report to them that my dog was actively dying. I was unsure if I could make the reservation. The woman I spoke with said "she'd see what she could do" for that night but the cabin was still mine. My sweet Sadie passed away on Monday night. I initially rented the cabin from Sunday-Thursday. I called again Tuesday AM, as some friends convinced me getting out of town would be a good idea. Again the woman I spoke with said management might be able to do something for the two days I could not come up (Sunday and Monday) because my girl was dying. The woman I spoke with during one of these times was Amanda. I called as soon as I could, which was the Sunday morning I was supposed to check in. I had no way of knowing she would decline so fast. When I checked out I called back to follow up on this conversation and was abruptly told by their manager Hayley there was nothing they could do in terms of a refund for those two nights. One would think during these extenuating circumstances they would extend compassion. I'm a nurse and I do this every day in my profession. It was extremely disheartening the folks at Blue Sky could not have that same empathy. They had a chance to do the right thing for a grieving family and they unfortunately chose not to. It shows their interest in not in the client, but in their own pocketbooks. When did we lose sight of seeing each other as human beings? If you want a wonderful company that truly cares try My Mountain Cabin. I stayed with them this summer and they were absolutely wonderful. EDIT: Hello Brad, I would like the chance to speak with you via phone. You mention that I called the "day of". I am not quite sure how many folks would be able to call immediately with a family member actively dying. I called that morning as soon as I could. ***DO NOT STAY HERE *** They are fantastic.... When nothing goes wrong! UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Around 0900 maintenance came. Great fella but he could not fix the issue. He stated that the air coming out of vent is 60 degrees in most places. At that point he said he will call office to get a company out. We have video but will protect maintenance guy. He was nice and honest. Emily called ugh. No apology for telling us to wait for the cabin to heat up last night and we need to be patient but called to say stay in cabin. ( plans ruined for the day because we had to wait) We had to wait until 1306 for company to come. He walked in and said there is nothing he can do because house temp was reading 70. At this point we had fireplace going. It was only that temp on main floor. Of course we cannot do that at night. Let's see how tonight plays out. I find it funny that manager could never call but Emily and maintenance kept calling them. Emily kept saying wait until the Monday. I am sure nothing positive will come off this post but hoping I can help others. Felt sorry for my Veteran hubby that suffers from nerve damage. UPDATE: Day 2 Emily was very rude and said there is nothing she can do until Monday. No managers on duty. Attached picture. This is how cold it is here. She told us that every one is having heating issue and she cannot give refund if we left. Was looking forward to our cabin getaway. Very disappointed in the customer service from Emily. We called around 5pm to let them know cabin was freezing and blowing cold air. At 2120 we called again to say heat still not working and it is getting colder. Again she said give it time to warm. I was raised in Alaska and spent my fair share of time in a cabin this big or bigger and it never took 4 hours. Customer service very rude. No sympathy, she stated regardless of what is going on, nothing can be done until tomorrow. Thank God we brought our sleeping bags!!! Almost $2000 for 3 nights. I expected better! Lovely setting & house shows well. For the substantial fee & being the house is rural- we expected to have SOME consumable supplies (EX: no napkins- Keurig available but bring your cup filters). Fireplace did not have bellows or brush. Main bathroom door was a folding door with a latch that had you play peek a boo with anyone on the couch in the living room. See picture. Not broken- but not cool for the money. One queen bedroom had an old mattress and guests said it was very uncomfortable and they did not have good sleep. Booking agents who made the deal were followed up by others who took payments- and did Not honor booking agent info- and billed at wrong times and used wrong card. This too was not good! Even after numerous emails and reminders. What a stressful trip from before start til end. Called agency and asked repeatedly for the owner- zero reply. Asked for compensation- got an excuse " we could have brought you toilet paper if you called while on your vacation ". Ya, go tell Wells Fargo why my vacation acct was in the RED! They suddenly said the cabin wasn't available even though it was still listed as available online. (Again, another story of Blue Ridge pretentious behavior.) HOWEVER, it was SO EASY to book with Blue Sky. The cabin exceeded our expectations. You could tell someone really spent the time to ensure everything you could need was available. This is a bogus rental company with the most incompetent, rude manager and office staff. They did absolutely nothing our entire stay, despite notifying them NUMEROUS times throughout our "vacation" they ruined. The place was disgusting and they did not even refund the outrageous cleaning charged, even though cleaning was obviously not done. Greedy rental company deserving of being finally shut down and reported for their scam of a business and unprofessional ways. It's illegal to charge for services not rendered and they will do nothing about any issues, even if renters have to waste their time the WHOLE STAY notifying them of the issues. After months of having a cabin booked here, our cabin was canceled with less than a month notice. We were not given a discount or compensation for the inconvenience & feel we had to pay a MUCH higher price for the new cabin than it was worth. This seems to be one of their normal scams they pull on guests, read other reviews. Upon arrival, the cabin was extremely dirty and we had to even buy soap because the disgusting way the ones provided were left. They were clogged with food and dirt residue. We tried to use the propane grill advertised and the gas line was broken. We tried to reach out to your company since we were charged a service fee for unexpected issues, to no avail., each time. We feel everything that occurred caused an extreme inconvenience and resulted in a less than favorable stay, at an unexceptionally, excellerated price. The beds were extremely uncomfortable also. Riverside Runaway - The trees have not been trimmed for a long time. The decks are under tree limbs, and the spiders were EVERYWHERE. Two spiders dropped down on to one person in our party. You couldn't even walk down the front steps to get to your car without walking through spider webs. They only provide one washcloth per person per stay. That means you will be doing laundry every day. Roaches - need I say more? The bed in the master bedroom is so high off of the floor that I had to jump and pull myself into the bed each night. The mattress on the king-sized bed was a foam mattress. You just sank right down in it. The couch seemed to be missing pillows. The back pillows only came up half of the back of the couch. The refrigerator was not clean when we arrived. The screened in porch was covered in spider webs and dead bugs. It had not been swept in a very long time. All of the screening around the house was dirty. The picture online is not what the back decks look like now. We were so excited about the decks. I am afraid of spiders. So, I didn't enjoy even one night on the decks. Simple things like the batteries were dead in the cable remote, and there were none there. We went to Walmart to buy batteries. The only batteries in the cabin were corroded in the kitchen drawer. Also, the batteries in the dvd remote were corroded. The lower back support is broken in the downstairs recliner. I moved the pillows on the window seat and had an sneezing fit from all of the dust. They cabin smelled like A1 - the steak sauce. I like A1, but I don't want to smell it all of the time. There was mold in the master shower. The kitchen table was dirty when we arrived. Overall, it could have been much cleaner. The furniture was not comfortable. Most of all, the trees need to be trimmed to help with the ridiculous amount of spiders. read more

It was only after I posted a negative review that I received a message offering to compensate me for the dirty bathroom and dusty cabin. I was asked to update my review and I promised the I would after I received a credit. I received the credit after 5 days and Jessica, the customer service representative, was very apologetic and seemed to be genuinely concerned about our experience. She invited us to come back and give us a second chance but after the last experience, I will respectfully decline. The cabin was nice but Blue Sky will hopefully learn to inform their potential guests to be prepared before they visit. If, as in our case, the power goes out you will not be able to cook, drink water, bathe or flush the toilet. Because Jessica was so nice, I wish I could recommend the cabins but as someone that wants to always be truthful I can't do so. I would only use them again if I just had to have a cabin and other companies did not have anything available. We rented the Cartecay Canoe House. This cabin was amazing......except for the beds. We rented this cabin in early spring. We Loved being right on the River but if I rent and pay the money for luxury...... I have to be able to sleep in luxury. The upstairs bedroom had in inflatable mattress that was so uncomfortable. But other than that, which is a HUGE FACTOR, the cabin was phenomenal for 2 even 4 people plus 2 pups. Great location. read more

1 Star because ZERO is not an option!!! I booked a cabin through Blue Sky Cabin Rental for my entire family for Christmas 2022. Approximately 36 hours before my stay, I received a call from BSCR stating that their was an issue with some pipes and the cabin would not be available. I had already booked other activities in the area (UTV adventure, Biltmore House) that were non-refundable. They told me it was my tough luck and they had nothing else to offer me. We were unable to find anything else this late. Funny, if I would have cancelled on them I would have lost all of my money but they have zero consequences. Customer NO Service!!! The staff at Blue Sky Cabin rental will not work with you at all. The Customer Service doesn't care about the renters, just the money. MOREOVER, if you leave a review that they don't like, YOU will receive an unprofessional response telling you that your opinion is not fair. They present that reply "FROM THE OWNER" which is also DISHONEST, because it's the property manager. We rented a beautiful house THROUGH "VRBO" (your MONEY goes to Blue Sky) for my mother's 79th birthday, and the neighbor, their children and 2 dogs all but ruined it. There's a posted "no fishing" sign due to the "fragile eco system of the water ", we understood, however, if that is the truth, why was the neighbor out in his boat with a trolling motor fishing along with other boaters? Why were they out at night with a trolling motor on the fragile eco system fishing? My family was down at the dock watching the stars and satellites, and the neighbor pulled up ON THE WATER, and put a spotlight in my husband's face. Asking what WE were doing, and the neighbor reminded us that there was no fishing. It was dark, and the reminder was given to my husband from the man who was on BOAT IN THE WATER with a trolling motor ! FALSE ADVERTISING !! They released the dogs all during our stay and allowed them to poop in our gravel driveway. Never cleaned up afterward. The weather was beautiful, so we opened the BACK PORCH door after breakfast and enjoyed the day . Their dog came in the kitchen and was eating our food. We had to run it off several times during our trip. When I was able to finally get a return call 5 days after our trip was over, I was chastised for not calling during our stay if it really was a problem. we should have called them while we were there. What a Great idea, that's exactly what we did. The problem with that is everything goes to voicemail. They are not about the renters, just the rental fees. Do your self a favor and go through ANY OTHER COMPANY, if you want to know that you are truly doing business with an honest and trustworthy company. We booked through VRBO and Blue Sky Cabins manages some properties. If you see their name on the listing, keep looking. Don't let them take your money. Why now, 6 months after my initial review is a person I never dealt with named Beth R. responding to the review? I was in constant contact with the rental company about the flea problem. I took pictures of the fleas (so many they were uncountable), pictures of the fleas on my dog, pictures of the fleas on our legs, pictures of the fleas on & in the linen, pictures of the receipt of the flea medication and finally it's receipt. Daughter made a get away trip not knowing the weather was going to bad and that she was going to be sick. Blue sky could care less they got their money. Which is all they are in it for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clear Lake! The cabin was clean, comfortable and scenic! Our main intent was rest and relaxation which was a good thing as it rained heavily all the time we were there. There was plenty of room...although there was just the two of us this weekend, we could easily have had space for the kids or another couple. My wife and three daughters stayed at Majestic Hideaway. She believes there were fleas in the cabin as each of them got bites. We believe that the pest control company used some type of toxic chemical to treat for the fleas. They were all feeling fine when they arrived, but the 2nd day they started having some reaction. By the third day my wife was in terrible condition. All three had varying degrees of reaction to whatever was in the cabin. Within several hours after leaving the cabin, they were all much better. By that evening, my wife was almost fully recovered. That being said, dealing with Blue Sky Cabin Rentals was not difficult and using their website was easy. However, I strongly suggest that you may not want to stay in this cabin. read more

Renters BEWARE! This cabin company canceled my family's vacation cabin rental 4 days before their vacation. When I left a negative review on Google the company came back and lied saying that there was a safety issue with the cabin. That was never mentioned when they canceled the reservation. They only stated that the cabin owner decided to pull the listing. They need a better policy that does not allow a cabin owner to pull a listing days before someone is coming to town on a major holiday week. Vacation planning takes time. People have to schedule time off weeks in advance. I would not trust this company with my families vacation. They do not have good policies in place to protect the renter. read more

For the past five years we've wintered in Florida then on the way home to Michgian we rent one of Blue Sky's cabins. They're always a fun finish to our trip but this cabin was our Favorite of All of them! Often the cabins aren't safe to walk the dogs here we could go for walks without too much danger. The view was amazing, the furniture comfortable, it was clean and the kitchen was perfect, well stocked, labeled (loved the labels) and easy to cook in! We left behind some plastic wine glasses for future guests to use in the hot tub. We loved all the space even tho we didn't utilize it all. We look forward to bringing our kids and grand kids to this cabin someday. The only thing that kinda creeped us out was that we found two hidden cameras outside. We didn't have anything to hide and they weren't pointing at us so we didn't really mind but it made us seriously hunt the inside to see if there were any others!? We rented the "Mountain Whisper" cabin for a men's get-away, and had a blast. Everything was exactly as described, the staff were very helpful and accommodating with some last-minute changes I had to make. Next time we are looking for cabins, Blue Sky Cabins will be the first place I look. The location: Easy to get to, the turn-by-turn directions with landmarks were simple to follow and got us there with no trouble. The cabin was billed as "secluded" and it was great. The property: The driveway was very steep and curvy but our little sedans made it ok. (Just take it slow and pay attention. No rush. You'll be on mountain-relaxation time.) Ample parking, neat and clean exterior, an awesome fire pit, tons of firewood, and a gas stove connected to a large propane tank so we didn't even have to worry about running out of gas. Perfect! The cabin: We arrived to a cabin that wasn't too hot, or cold, had lights on, and even music playing. There were fresh towels and soaps, etc. on all the beds and the kitchen sink had a brand-new sponge and bottle of dish soap. Little touches, sure, but that was on top of everything you'd expect: immaculately clean, and neat. We loved the huge porches, and the hot tub which was in really good condition too. Cellular coverage was spotty or non-existent depending upon the provider, but the cabin had good wifi so we were fine. All the TVs had Rokus and some were also "smart" TVs so watching anything from Netflix to YouTube was easy the couple times that happened. All in all, it was a great stay and I'm very glad I went with Blue Sky Cabin Rentals... if I had gone with something like AirBnB or VRBO I probably wouldn't have been able to switch cabins last-minute due to a change in our group size. Having gone with this company made the switch easy and they didn't penalize me with fees or anything. Really stand-up way to treat your customer, and I certainly appreciated their friendly attitude. (Hence a large part of the motivation to write such a lengthy review.) I'll certainly stop by their website first next time I'm looking for a cabin to rent. read more

Blue Sky Cabin Rentals is fine if you don't encounter any problems, but if you do be prepared. We certainly did on our last vacation to the BlueRidge area and it really made our stay quite unpleasant. The staff was in my opinion almost apathetic to the host of problems we encountered and were not willing to offer anything even as simple as an apology to try to remediate the situation. We stayed at the cabin called "Cold Mountain Pond" lovely cabin well stocked. The cabin was dirty with sticky floors and was very smoky. The TV did not work and the owner came over and cut a tree down to get a signal for the satellite. He did not ask us to move our car and the tree would have hit it if we had not moved it. Some one came in the cabin without notifying us. Blue Sky Rental was disappointing! Empathy and communication were lacking! read more
