From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warm atmosphere as you are greeted by staff and begin to see and hear and smell the things which contribute to the culture of this facility. The staff obviously share a common mission, purpose, goals and truly care not only for the residents, but for families and for each other. The facility is always sparkling clean no matter what time of day you arrive you find your family member and their surroundings fresh, clean, neat and tidy. In addition there is a lovely secure outdoor area (seasonably available) with a lovely gazebo, which can be accessed from the living room and it is a lovely place for families to visit with their resident. I have witnessed many residents enjoying this area last summer and my mother in law especially enjoyed this area. And finally...Office staff are easy to work with., great about communicating in a timely manner regarding urgent care needs and other matters. ml Thank you Mapleview Manor Staff!

I cannot express the level of gratitude that I feel towards Raluca and the staff. My mom is so much more content, she's more talkative and cheerful, and she's healthier now than she's been for the past few years (I think it's because the food they prepare is so fresh and healthy). Miriam the nurse is so attentive and caring and Raluca really understands the needs of her residents. The whole staff is so helpful and kind. It just feels positive there - it's always extremely clean, it smells good, and all the residents seem calm and happy. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

She had lived at five other retirement and skilled nursing homes over an eight year period so we had ample opportunity for comparisons. We were pleased with the help she received during this very challenging time of her life. We have recommended MC to others dealing with a similar situation. On our visits we always found mom clean, well-groomed and well dressed. Although she often was repetitive, incontinent, cranky or hallucinatory, staff dealt exceptionally well with her. Doubtless they dealt with many similar problems from other residents as well, on a daily basis, but they were always pleasant, patient and caring. During mom's last critical weeks, staff was especially loving. Management assigned extra people to sit with her almost full time toward the end. In addition, management was outstandingly helpful in working with us to get hospice quickly set up when it was needed. MC is arranged in four separate spaces, or "pods." Each pod contains 12 individual rooms and a central living/dining room. We think these smaller groups of 12 residents results in a quieter, less threatening, more family-like environment for memory-impaired residents. Healthy meals are provided in the central room but staff brought meals to mom when she was unable to come to the dining room. Short weekly trips are available to the residents to nearby restaurants and attractions. Mom recently went on a road trip to the Tillamook cheese factory on the Oregon coast. Mom had one or more medical appointments every month but became so fragile in her last year of life that we could no longer take her in our cars. MC helped us by taking her in the residential van, which was equipped with a wheelchair lift. We would meet the van and mom at her doctor's office. The key issue that didn't meet our expectations was a seeming lack of communication among staff about scheduling details for mom's medical appointments. We would notify the staff of the date and call the night before to confirm and still there were several times when MC's van just didn't appear at the appointment. Another issue was MC's care of clothing. We provided nice clothing marked with mom's name, as required by all such residential facilities. Nevertheless, items frequently disappeared; or they would be quickly ruined by rough laundry processes. Clothing care seems to be common problem in assisted living situations. We experienced it at every residential care home where mom stayed. Irritating as these problems were, our overwhelming concern was mom's well-being. On balance, we were well-pleased with the clearly superior care provided by Monterey Court.

I was supposed to be there recovering from surgery but now I had to recover from covid too. The nurses and assistants were rude and I heard one using the F word because she wanted to go home and they still needed her. I had to keep asking to take a shower and once I finally got one the wet towels sat on the floor for three days. When I would call for assistants know one would come so I had to learn how to make it to the bathroom my self. I had knee surgery so it was difficult to move. my bed sheets were only changed once in the 10 days I was there. I even spilled water on my sheets and they just folded it over and said its just water. This place was a nightmare. Please if you have a choice find somewhere else. I didnt have a choice !

Showers don't always happen when they should. Catheter doesn't always get emptied at night, and they give you a medication at 5 am that you don't need until 7 am. If you make one of the med aides mad you don't get your medicine until late at night. Along with a nice little attitude. They are short handed all the time. They have a couple good CNA's and nurses but they are so busy you don't see them. They have a good physical therapy team. And they have dialysis which is convenient for some, and makes it a reason to go there.
