From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warm atmosphere as you are greeted by staff and begin to see and hear and smell the things which contribute to the culture of this facility. The staff obviously share a common mission, purpose, goals and truly care not only for the residents, but for families and for each other. The facility is always sparkling clean no matter what time of day you arrive you find your family member and their surroundings fresh, clean, neat and tidy. In addition there is a lovely secure outdoor area (seasonably available) with a lovely gazebo, which can be accessed from the living room and it is a lovely place for families to visit with their resident. I have witnessed many residents enjoying this area last summer and my mother in law especially enjoyed this area. My mom is so much more content, she's more talkative and cheerful, and she's healthier now than she's been for the past few years (I think it's because the food they prepare is so fresh and healthy). They have a couple good CNA's and nurses but they are so busy you don't see them. They have a good physical therapy team. And they have dialysis which is convenient for some, and makes it a reason to go there.

The night med tech refused to give him his morphine despite her admitting the dose was authorized in his chart, and despite hospice nurses coming in the middle of the night and again in the morning to clarify to her and calling the med tech's supervisor to get phone authorization. He never asked for things. He never wanted to be a bother, and he was begging me all night for pain relief. 2. They knew he had died but did not warn me. I arrived in the morning to visit him. I passed by the reception area where they greeted me but let me go into the room unprepared to find him dead. I was in there alone, checking his pulse and putting a mirror to his lips to check for breath. Eventually someone from the office came into his room to say sorry he had passed.
