We moved to Colorado Springs 12 years ago and just finished having our 4th roof installed and…read morecomplete exterior house painting (all due to hail damage), using three different companies. We first used Avalanche Roofing & Exteriors in 2008 (the 2nd job), loved them, but tried a different company in 2011 because this one was on Dave Ramsey's list of best companies. Well, this year we switched back to Avalanche because of our past experience, and boy are we glad we did! Starting with the appraisal, we first called the last roofing company we used (Dave Ramsey's recommended company) since they last replaced this roof a couple years ago, and they found "little to no damage". Well, having experienced this several times already, and having a great birds-eye view of the damage from our upstairs bedroom window, we knew something was fishy. Since we felt very confident with the integrity and competence of Avalanche, we had them provide an inspection, finding extensive roof and siding damage, and substantiated by the insurance inspector. Amazing how two companies can come up with completely different inspection results within one week! So next, Craig came to our house to draw up the estimate and contract. They provided us the best possible deal under the current Colorado laws concerning insurance deductibles. Not only did we get an upgraded quality in paint, but Craig also agreed to help with some repairs that had more to do with the really crappy quality siding on our house than with the actual hail damage itself. Just a really honest, helpful, and considerate individual. Even after the roofing portion was completed and the insurance company re-inspected and was completely satisfied, Craig provided the final company inspection and personally returned to make additional corrections on various roofing-related matters of which he wasn't personally satisfied with the workmanship (although it looked fine to us). The house painting portion of the repair was even better! You can really tell Clint and Kevin take every job personal and are so customer sensitive. They discussed our color selection with us (we drastically changed colors) and provided the advice we needed to make the absolute best decisions (we would have really regretted our first choice in color schemes). Then it just kept getting better. They repaired several portions of siding that were not even part of the contract, the patched every flaw, filled every gap, primed under every siding board (the other companies merely painted over, resulting in progressing deterioration), reinforced two faucets I had improperly replaced and secured myself, added a couple ornamental pieces to the peak areas (looks great), roughed up and painted our ugly brass house numbers, repainted our front door, and the list goes on and on. I can't emphasis enough how professional and attentive these guy were. Not to mention how much we love the paint quality how great our house looks now! I would be remiss not to mention the other staff we had direct interaction with. The owner, Jesse, bends over backwards to make things right. It definitely reflects in the service and quality his employee's demonstrate. Sheila and Tammy, the office specialists, tracked and closely communicated everything with our insurance company. We were made aware of everything that was repaired but not covered by our insurance company (although there wasn't a lot), and they deducted each item from the final price. We didn't pay a single penny we hadn't agree to and covered by our insurance company. Although, I can honestly say, we believe we receive much more than the contract stipulated! In the end, we have a much nicer home because of the attention, thoroughness, and personal consideration from the Avalanche staff. Dave Ramsey needs to check them out too!

Avoid at all costs. Contracted with them for hail damage…read morerepair after the Jun 2018 storm. The did a good job on the roof but it took forever to get the paint and gutters done. Window replacement, even longer. Window repair.... over two years and still not done. My mistake was in paying them for the entire job before they were complete. I contacted them numerous times and was lied to by their PM; he claimed he was waiting on my insurance company to respond to a request. Well, USAA had no record of him ever contacting them. After that, the PM became unavailable and the owner (Jesse) would not respond at all. His secretary promised she was passing my calls and number to him but.... he's a ghost.

They promised they could get the roof done before closing--they didn't. They promised they would do a gutter repair the same week. Weeks and weeks later my continual harassment finally got them to do that. But when the gutters were fixed--instead of replacing a stretch with new material as was in the bid--they just re-hung what was there. Additionally--I live in the forest with pine trees, and they did not re-install the gutter-cover to protect the gutter from pine needles until i, again, harassed them about it. But my biggest annoyance has been that while installing the roof they broke one of our light fixtures next to our garage. They apologized profusely and promised to fix it. That was nearly five months ago now. Jose keeps claiming it's on back order...but five months!!!???? I have found their service to be sub-par, their work sloppy, and their promises empty. On the up side--they did bid less than other bids we had. But I guess you get what you pay for.

The roof tiles look like a 5 year old tried to line them up. Beware if you choose this roofer. Their length of time of being in business in Colorado Springs means nothing.
