If one goes in, one comes out. I was hoping to be able to see Max (he's the largest in the state of Montana), but Bella was having a ball. Hunter, such a cutie, was very knowledgeable and his presentation of bear facts was really cool. The ice cream truck was a super cool addition and the warm summer day definitely warranted a treat! Salted Caramel was YUMMY! All proceeds from all sales go back to the bears!

There was considerable snow on the ground when we arrived and late in the afternoon a snowstorm moved in. That didn't stop us from taking pictures either of the two days we were there....and in fact, the snow just made it that much more interesting. We booked the rodeo for the last night of our stay and was so glad we did. Such nicely kept venue and it was most of our first rodeos. We are from Southern California, so this was such a treat for us! We found out that it is a horse riding camp for kids and the rodeo was their time to show off what they'd learned. We loved every minute of it! My 9 month old grandson squealed with delight seeing the horses and all who rode them. After the rodeo we enjoyed the best outdoor bbq!! Now, you need to know that my family prides ourselves at being foodies and we know our way around a bbq, and this was really a good one. Delicious!! Our group of 6 were all new to rafting. We had the best time ever!! If we had more time we would have booked another full day trip and requested Preston just so we could hang out with him again. This experience turned us all into rafting aficionados! As an added bonus, we got to see a bald eagle take flight from a tree so that was cool too. Preston and our raft day made our entire Yellowstone Trip! You should ask your raft guide "Can pigs fly?" and see what happens! The only thing I wish I would've known (which I could've if I had called probably lol) is there is a bit of a tough walk down to get into the boats- but honestly 5 mins into the trip we forgot all about the trek because we were having such a great time. I'd recommend wearing all swim material clothes so that you dry quickly because even on a warm day the water can be chilly and the wind nippy. Having shorts/pants that aren't swim material will keep you cold and wet (dry fit doesn't work the same as swim material lol). If you don't have water shoes they have them available for you to borrow and they also had neoprene/wet suits but we didn't use them.

We did a short bit of the river on the first day and then had a magical overnight camping by the river. The wall-tents were comfy and all set up for us- and it turned out: Ella can cook too! Wow. Hung out by the fire pit, slept like a baby in the tent and woke up to a herd of very chill Elk. After a great breakfast we headed back onto the river for a longer day. Ella pointed out eagles, a marmot and answered all of our questions, all while guiding us expertly down the river. So beautiful and the right combination of relaxing and exciting! Even the bus ride back was a blast. A total win!

We opted for the full day (6 hour) private ride. Experiencing Yellowstone National Park on horseback was EPIC! If you're the adventurous type and are not afraid of heights, I suggest you advise them. The sights you see when you leave your fears behind are absolutely breathtaking. The beauty of the park was awe-inspiring, the fresh air was much needed and getting relatively close to wild life in their environment was spectacular. Our guide's name was Mike and he was awesome! We learned so much. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back and visit again. Side Note: I do suggest you find a bathroom before meeting your guide. You're riding straight into the park where only nature exits. If you think you'll need to answer natures call, take paper and a ziplock bag.
