We chose the easiest route, mostly calm with a little woohoo, perfect for my daughter (5 yr-old). Although my son (10) was dying for more waves, it is a very entertaining and worry free ride. We spotted few antelopes, 2 bold eagles several Canadian geese, and of course the beautiful view. Special shout out to our guide Austin. He made the tour even more fun and interesting. He is very informative and made his explanation so understandable for my 5 yr-old. On top of that he was answering 1000 questions from my son, and super patient with the kids. On our way back, we got Nisha as our driver. She was fun and very playful with the kids. Honestly, I can't even give them any stars since the guy with accent seems to have no interest to work. I booked 3:30 rafting tour and provided phone number and paid for the whole thing. Spent 40 mins driving there to find out they have cancelled the tour due to lack of people. He said he didn't check to see if someone sign up for the 3:30 tour that why didn't call me. When I was there, that guy was obviously busy playing with his phone and ignored me standing at the counter for 20 seconds. Then ask me I want to come back tomorrow. I am just here for 3 days. Why would I waste more time on this place? Then told me that the money will be refunded in a few days. Whatever! I went to other two adventure places to see if I can still hop on to their tour but it was too late. If I was told maybe 20 mins sooner, I would still have a chance. It totally ruined me and my family several hours. We could have planned doing something else. I would highly recommend you to go to the other two adventure places. Much more organize. read more

First let me say that Paradise Adventure Company is a class act! Right from the start as you enter their store you are treated like a celebrity. When we booked our rafting trip it was pre-flood so we didn't know what to expect? For those who may have concerns Gardiner is open and you would never know that the river flooded. We did the 2 hour rafting trip which was perfect for us. We had an outstanding guide, Max! He made our trip so much fun! He was perfect!!! He had a lot of knowledge about the river. Danni was an amazing guide. We were so happy to be able to book a rafting trip during our visit, and what was even better was that we got a raft all to ourselves. Good timing on our part, even though we had to help carry our raft down to the river. It was well worth it. We learned that their location actually had a fire only a few weeks before, so we didn't have helmets. That was fine by us. 5 Stars: myself and 2 girlfriends did the white water kayaking with Patrick as our guide. He was an amazing guide, very patient, and helpful. We unexpectedly hit some pretty serious rapids and lost paddles/kayaks/shoes/breathe (though all was recovered), and he was really calming and encouraging. 3 stars: the front desk lady. She wasn't mean, but didn't seem to know answers to our questions...and at times misled us on info... 1 star: the photographer completely missed all our photo opportunities, which was a huge bummer because I wish someone caught my facial expression when I realized I hit two rapids that collided, my kayak was vertical, and I was about to be sucked under the water of death. Overall gave it a 4 star because the other folks kinda butchered the experience, but Patrick was a rock star!! Request him if he's still there. read more

This morning myself, my husband and 3 children (19.15,10) rafted with Paradise Adventure Company. Austin and Maddi were our guides. Austin was on the raft with us. He was awesome! The kids were leery initially because we have never rafted before. We only slowly tubed lazy rivers in Texas. We rafted the rapids and under the bridge through Gardiner but I think we did the BEST part! It was nice and cool. Less than 70 degrees. The girls loved it. My 10yo son has said it was the most fun he has ever had in his life! Considering how many theme parks this child has been to....He has asked when we are doing it again. MULTIPLE TIMES . We had a great trip on the scenic float with our awesome guide Carter. Chris and Erin were the trainees who came with us and they were great too. Everyone was easy going and did a great job guiding us on the river. We weren't required to help them paddle, but we chose to a bit which was a cool experience. Our groups had a real fun time on the full day raft. The rapids were really like level 2 maybe a few 3's, nothing too fierce. But tons of fun. Blake was a great raft guide. He kept us entertained with his stories about Yellowstone. Definitely do the full day as you go through Yankee Jim's canyon which is absolutely beautiful. The sandwiches included are subway just FYI. We had a pretty scenic float down the river in the early morning which was good light and not too hot out. The guide was very friendly and informative of the area and I would definitely recommend her and the woman who drove us down to the water. The road down to Gardiner is visible for most of the float so you aren't totally immersed in nature but I think a lot of the river activities in the area are near roads so its no fault to the company. The one issue we did have was a mix-up on the end of the people setting up the float in which there was no apology and basically faulting me for their mistake. They mistakenly put me down for a day/time that was not confirmed and that I could not do (no phone call or email confirmation) and when I called them to check in about another day they informed me that I had a day booked and could not cancel due to 24 hr period. As I could not go to the booked slot they stated I had to either find another day to do the float or eat the charge. When I informed them that the booked slot was not actually confirmed they just doubled down on me eating it or finding another time. As I didn't want to loose the money we then booked another day which worked better. So I guess make sure you are clear with bookings. read more

What an awesome adventure. We originally booked our whitewater rafting trip through Yellowstone Rafting Company, but arrived to find that the building had burned down from an electrical fire just a few days prior. Very shortly after that discovery, we were referred to their sister company, Paradise Adventure Company (we met the owner down the street by chance, and Paradise called me to make sure we were heading in the right direction). There were awesome from the start, got us geared up and down to the riverside. We met our guide, Maria, and she quickly assumed leadership and started directing us to carry the raft and telling us what to expect. She was very confident, informative and funny. You could tell she was a seasoned pro and was in total control. We loved how she used humor to boss us around and keep us safely in the boat. : ) It made any nerves my family had about going down the river disappear instantly. We were all hooting and hollering with joy the whole trip. Overall, it was an very fun ride, informative about the history and wildlife in the area, and a great example of strong female leadership for my 12-year-old daughter. We used Paradise on a whim visit to Yellowstone - We could never have been happier! If you're a beginner, this is the place to go. They set you up with all the gear you'll need. You don't have to, but I recommend you wear a wet suit, water shoes, or splash jacket - and they have it all there if you need or want it. It's ALL covered in your cost. (Which I might add is a great price). The cost includes a sandwich lunch and drinks. We went on the 18 mile rafting tour. Jack, our guide, kept us entertained with stories about Yellowstone through the whole trip. There is plenty of adventure on these trips. You want to go early in the season to beat the crowds of tourists. Early to mid June is the perfect time. read more

Beware! Went horse back riding. Beware! Horses are badly behaved! The horses kept trying to eat the grass on the edge of the cliff (constantly), and they were very difficult to control to get back in line. My friend's horse's ears would go back when she pulled back on the reins (which I understand not to be a good sign) and it even tried to bite her once. I finally told our guide, who stayed in the front with his horse watching and waiting for us to correct the situations, that we wanted to go back. On the way back, my friend's horse was startled and bolted towards some low hanging tree branches, so my friend decided to fall off instead of hang on and risk a cervical injury (pulling back on reins had little effect). She ended up with a compression fracture of L1. I understand that horses get startled as we were in the wilderness, and of course we signed a waiver, but these horses were badly behaved from the beginning. It would have been nice to have been offered my money back or even have the owner of the company call and check on my friend after we ended up in the Mammoth emergency clinic, but I have heard nothing from them. Three of us were beginner horse back riders, but I've been horse back riding before and have never had this problem (and supposedly it is ok to be a beginner). I have never in my life wrote a bad review, but being that I am an ICU nurse and believe in the Good Samaritan Law, think twice before choosing this company for horse back riding! read more

Our guide was good. Kept everyone informed of the sites and engaged in the trip overall. However, the operation is not top notch compared to the dozens of other float or whitewater trips I've taken. First, take your own shoes. The ones they supply smelled moldy and I doubt they were sanitized between uses. Second, we didn't go on a Paradise raft. Ended up on a Yellowstone Rafting Company raft. That wasn't disclosed until we got there and were sent around the corner to Yellowstone Rafting. Was told that the operator owned both companies. While lunch was tolerable, it wasn't kept on ice so the sandwiches were not cold. Neither was the water which was straight out of a 5 gallon plastic jug. Now for the real issues. One, you have to assist with carrying the raft down a rather steep, loose gravel filled embankment. Saw a lot of slipping and sliding. Second, at the end of the trip (on an 84 degree day with no cloud cover) there was no water available for the participants. Inexcusable since it had been several hours + since the lunch break. On the bus ride back, the guides were drinking from their personal bottles, while the paying customers had nothing. I've never been on a raft trip that did not supply sufficient water for the participants. Guide was 4 star....overall operation 2 star. read more

We had the most disappointing part of our weekend due to this company being a complete scam. We planned our sisters bachelorette weekend and called to book out a whitewater rafting trip. On the phone, they told me it would be a blast and have great rapids. When deciding between the half day or the full day, he told me the adult groups all wished they were going for longer and the half day version was just for families with kids. So we booked the full day and it ended up being a float ride, with the wind going against us, causing our whole boat to have to paddle the entire time, freezing cold because they don't provide wetsuits (very obvious this company does not care about customer service). There were no rapids and so the ride ended up taking an hour and a half longer than we had planned for, despite our entire boat trying to paddle as much as possible. We were all asking if there was a short cut or a way to get to the end of the trip sooner. Our guide did the best he could, but we feel completely cheated in a full day of our weekend, as well as having to pay a lot of money for such a terrible, miserable experience. When I contacted the Manager, he could not have been more apathetic of our experience and of their terrible customer service; adding even more frustration and regret. He said we should have been the ones to know how cold it was going to feel and should have asked for wetsuits. And that it should have been obvious that there would not be any rapids. Um, why are you calling it a WhiteWater RAPIDS Experience?! This company is a scam. read more

Perfect name for this company! We had so much fun on our rafting trip. Everyone was so friendly. The beauty of this river is breath-taking.

Our family group of six was greatly disappointed with a cold and unnecessarily wet "scenic float" that fell short of promotion and description in their brochure and phone booking. Scenery for this float is basically visible and viewable in the van drive to the put-in, and we saw sparse and relatively common wildlife on this section of the river. To add to the disappointment, they squeezed an additional 4 adults on our raft, causing a 4-5 inch constant layer of frigid water in the bottom of the raft with no place to put our feet. One of the group of 4 added was an elderly lady with painful knee problems such that two of our adults had to assist the lone guide in getting her out of the raft. We also had to help the guide get the raft from the river to the trailer before returning to our car. Our guide was nice and courteous and did what he could, but this trip was not worth the time, let alone the money we paid for it. read more

They were great from start to finish! Easy to book, we did the 2 hour rafting. Jack was our guide and he was awesome, super fun and easygoing but also kept it professional. The actual rafting experience was great, some easy rapids but nothing too crazy which is what we wanted. And the owner took good photos of us which was super nice to have since we didn't have any waterproof cameras to bring. We even got to jump in the river for a quick swim during the trip :) and they have changing rooms on site which was great so we could change out of our wet clothes.
