She offered a sample of MawMaws Gingerbread Stout I was leery but now I have added this to my favorites. We always get the vegetarian pizza which we corrupt with sausage. Hey we are rebels all around. The ambiance is always great friendly, warm and inside regardless the weather conditions outside. This treat was after health situations and I say it is because of Vitamin B but really it is because of people who care and they do here. read more

Food is average but service is much to be desired. If you sit at the bar, you better be a local. It seems like you need to be a regular to be tended to. We've been a couple times, bartenders are very personable. However, they're way too busy to work the bar for anyone other than usuals. read more

We were seated by the hostess in the blinding sun. When we asked to move to the table further back, she said it was for bigger parties.. ok no big deal. Can we eat at one of the tall tables? (3 empty) no sorry bar service only. Even though there were 2 minors at the other table "bar service only" table. Not 10 minutes later another couple was seated at the back table.. so I guess party size wasn't an issue after all? So we roasted in the hot sun. The food was even worse. We got the spinach artichoke dip that was probably made 4 days ago and reheated. Not sure there was even cheese in the dip? It was straight artichoke, garlic and butter. Soooo greasy we were taking spoon fulls of butter grease out of it. Chips were ok. Salad was $13 and was literally a dole Ceasar kit with the stale croutons and all. Pizza was ok, burned crust. Save the $50 and go somewhere else. Won't be returning. read more

Sure, they have flatbreads but they also have salads and I was in a salad mood this evening. The small Caesar (add chicken) was just the right size for me, with extremely fresh romaine and a ight dressing. With a beer and their wifi, I was happy. Service was friendly and the place was not at all busy on a Monday night. I'd love a power outlet at the table so I can charge my electronics and $19 for a flatbread if you're a single diner is a bit much. But otherwise? Our first time at Mountain State Brewing. We were there with a very large group, which the servers handled exceptionally well. The food was very good, especially the many styles of thin crust pizzas we had. Very good selection of beers, including their own brews as well as guest taps. Good selection of cocktails too. Gone here a couple of times with a friend when I've been in town. The servers are always super nice and provide decent service. We've never had to wait too long to be seat, have our order taken, or receive our food; which is an A plus in my boook. Got the Popeye with spinach and bacon the first time. It was really good. Also sampled some of my friend's pizza which was also delicious. Recently got the Low Cow. Also good, but maybe could've used a hair more horseradish. Meat was tender so won't complain too much. Atmosphere is pretty laid back. Not really loud. It's been moderately busy when we've gone, not so bad we had to wait or could hear other people's conversations. I enjoyed it enough to go back and would probably visit again given the opportunity when I'm in town. Close to my mom's (as most things are on this town) so I don't have to venture far to eat. read more

An awesome experience! The place itself is cozy yet open, and our server was so great all the way through service on a Saturday. I loved my beer flight (they also have whiskey flights too) and the fact you got 6 choices all from their brewery or other local ones. Had a small salad and pizza which was the perfect compliment. Sat at the bar, got a blue ridge salad with roasted chicken. It was simple but good - the dressing worked really well with everything. Bartender let me sample a couple beers - ended up going with the Cold Trail which was solid. Was trying to be somewhat healthy, otherwise would have tried one of the flatbreads as several of them looked good. Nice outdoor seating area as well. I went here for the first time last night and I will definitely be back!! The flatbread pizzas are amazing, my husband ordered beer which he said was delicious. We also ordered the appetizer sampler with the different dips and the cowboy caviar was delicious! We ordered the meat lovers pizza which I actually hesitated in ordering because the base was BBQ sauce which I'm not really a fan of, but I tried it and was pleasantly surprised, it's more of a light, sweet, sticky sauce that was really good. Dear Management - tried to eat here twice. Were refused a low table and offered a high-top or booth. We saw open tables in the section where we were offered a booth so there was no shortage on wait staff. Does not make sense to me, but we left. I stopped in for lunch while passing through town so I can't give a beer review but the food was pretty great overall and the staff was really helpful. The inside is huge and really open with a large parking lot. I'd totally recommend especially to prevent you from eating at a chain, worth the stop to not just grab fast food. The fire on the mountain pizza taste differed from same pizza at the other 2 locations we enjoy frequently The atmosphere isn't as great as the other locations we frequent. The cleanliness of this restaurant is declining rapidly! The front entrance outside area and hostess area is dirty and uninviting. The outside dining area needs a good cleaning it is filthy! The servers are always doing their best to accommodate patrons but due to uncontrollable circumstances and staff shortages they can only do so much. BE PATIENT! The beers and food have been consistently great! We will return soon and hopefully be adding a couple stars. read more

This was a cute place. I stopped in for a quick bite. I ordered a small cheesey bread & a personal Reuben pizza. The pizza was delicious, lots of cheese. It had thousand island dressing, corned beef, sauerkraut & cheese. They have quite the beer selection with lots of local options. The bartender was very sweet and helpful. She picked out just the right beer for me, Halldeck Pale Ale, from Chestnut Brew Works in Morgantown. It was perfect for me, a lil bit of citrus & kinda hoppy, just like I like. We visited this location twice this past week. The first time was with a group of 30+ people, all out of town family gathered for a funeral for my father. Abby (as well as others) took care of us the first night. Great service, great selection of drinks, food was good. Abby took great care of us, remembering all the different drink orders for all the separate families. The next day the weather was beautiful so some of us decided to go back after the service to sit in the outside area. Bri (spelling?) was our waitress. At first there were 11 of us, 2 separate families. Then a few more showed up, and a few more and a few more. Bri was so friendly and helpful (and understanding lol) from the beginning all the way through. Never skipped a beat, checked on us quite often. It was really nice to have such a friendly, warm server on what was a tough day. If we ever get back to Bridgeport, will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone! read more

Went for lunch during the week. Was able to snag an outdoor table in the glorious fall sunshine. Staff was attentive, courteous, and professional. Didn't really like it here. The beer was just eh. I tried the blonde ale and it was a bit lacking in flavor, felt like I was drinking Budweiser. The pizza was similarly disappointing. We were in a big group and got several pizzas. On most of them the crust was 2" in radius all the way around, about twice as much crust as normal pizza places. We felt very short changed on toppings. And the toppings that we did have were just ok. Hated the pineapple which was obviously canned and lacked decent flavor because of that. Wouldn't go back. read more
