We wasted no time filing a claim and calling 3 different roofers that folks had recommended. Tom Goldson Roofing was the only contractor that responded (the next business day) and quickly diagnosed the issue, as we learned that this is a common roof issue within the Genoa Lakes subdivision. Even the USAA contracted adjuster knew this roofer and offered high praises. The proposed fix was modest, the cost was reasonable, and they were able to fit us in within a couple days and before the next big rain. We were also under our deductible, but we were happy to pay anyway. The work was detailed, professional, and as evaluated. The scope was in one of our 2 roof "valleys" that can accumulate snow, offer poor drainage, and eventually enter into the house. The next rain seemed to fix the drainage issue, for at least the time we may need to replace the roof or deal with a second valley issue.

I had a conversation via telephone with Fredy to discuss the details of the project and Fredy was honest in telling me that the roof could last another 2-3 years and be watertight if we performed the repair work as detailed. I appreciate the honesty and prompt response to my request for a proposal. We have scheduled F.E. Roofing to perform the repair work at the end of July and I will update this review after the work is completed. To date, F.E. Roofing has met all expectations, was friendly, professional, and timely. Of the 4 contractors contacted, Fredy responded to the request for repair, 2 responded but would only quote for a new roof (no repair) and 1 didn't bother to respond at all. It's a 12-year-old roof with 3-tab shingles, and I thought I would need a roof replacement because those shingles are no longer made, and I couldn't find them anywhere locally. David, the owner, came out, and instead of giving me an estimate for a new roof, he said he would try to find shingles and repair it. Within 24 hours, he located shingles and repaired the roof. The only replacement shingles he could get were brown, so he painted them after attaching them. If you look at this picture, you'll see that it's dang hard to see which shingles are the replacement ones. Comparing High Mountain to other roofing companies, two companies gave me email estimates for a new roof without even coming out, and a third company said they could repair it, but the estimate was $2,500 because they wanted to add a roofing treatment, which I considered unnecessary.
