We purchased a home and had a Fidelity home warranty. In June of 2024 the air conditioning started acting up. This was a newer system that was about 2 years old. Tyler came out and did a fantastic job. He was clearly very knowledgeable and had all the tools to properly diagnose the issue. Fast forward to May of 2026. The air conditioning condenser froze up and again I called Fidelity our home warranty company. They sent out a different company and the very young gentleman was not very sharp. His recommendation to fix the issue was to remove the air filter in the system. I asked him to check the load on the blower motor (same issue we had before) and he said he was only able to check it with the cover off because he did not have the proper tools. Fidelity called the next day and advised they were not covering any warranty work because the air conditioner was still under manufacture warranty. I then called the manufacturer and they advised Beach & Sons Mechanical was an authorized service company. I called and spoke to the receptionist and explained my issue. I advised her Tyler was the one who came out last time and I book an appointment for him to come give a second opinion. Tyler arrived within the scheduled time, had all the proper tool and clearly knew exactly how to work on the air conditioning unit. He checked all of the various settings, pressure, and levels. By the time he had left the system was working perfectly. I highly recommend Tyler and Beach & Sons Mechanical. They are very professional, knowledgeable, prompt, have all the proper tools & equipment and a company that I trust 100%!! Beach and Sons is one of the last honest, reputable HVAC companies left out there! I had them come give a second opinion after we had Sierra Air use scare tactics to try and sell us an entire new furnace AND AC system! The "engineer" said he found a crack in the heat exchanger- suggested we don't use our furnace as have a CO exposure. (not true!- scare tactic) The "crack" turned out to be a blemished rivet! Beach and Sons found our furnace to be just fine. found a small condensation leak on the PVC flu... honest, no upsell, no commission salesmen, just honest straight forward evaluation and service. I had my furnace, A/C unit and some ducting replaced just over a year ago, with a home warranty it cost me $12,000. dollars. I had a home warranty through Fidelity National, since I had a warranty through them and they supplied the furnace and use Beach and Sons I had no say about the brand of furnace or contractor. My toe kick vent in my master bath didn't work before or after they finished the repairs. I told Tyler about it, he crawled under the house and discovered a kinked elbow going to the vent. He suggested replacing it at $450, which I authorized. The vent still didn't work-he started to give me a song and dance about having to replace more of the ductwork for !000's of dollars, I said no. Soon after the system was replaced I started having water come down the ventpipe. I called them, Tyler came out and said rainwater was getting in the vent through a rotten vent cap and ventpipe and he would charge me $600. to replace them. To me the company should have inspected the vent and cap and recommended replacing them at that time. I had a handyman who's done work for me in the past replace the 5 ft ventpipe and cap for $450. All this company is interested in is making as much money as possible. read more

I had this company out to install a new compressor at my home in late summer of 2023. At the start of May 2025 I went to start the AC unit and nothing came on. I called and set up a service call. When the technician came out he quickly stated the system was out of refrigerant and there was a leak somewhere. After looking over the system we found the leak on the TXV valve they originally installed. They would not warranty their craftsmanship but do everything to upsell me things I didn't need. They quoted $2,800 to repair their mistake which was nuts. I called JIT HVAC and they corrected the issue by changing the coil for $100 less than this company wanted to repair their mistake which I would never recommend using this company to anyone. Bad customer service all around. read more

This company told my almost 80 year old mother that she needed a new board for her ac and that they would have to order one. They offered expedited shipping for $500! Even though we were in the middle of 100° weather that was not an affordable option so my mother had to wait nearly 3 weeks for the part. Furthermore, when the tech installed the board he accidentally blew it out. He immediately drove all the way to Carson City, and returned with another brand new board the same day! The tech was fantastic, but he should find a job with an honest company. read more

Our furnace stopped working the evening we returned home from a week away. It was 12 degrees. The next morning, we called Beach & Sons Mechanical and were surprised to learn they could send someone out that same day between 9am and 2pm! Duane arrived around 930am and fixed the furnace in a short time. He explained everything to us and he was courteous and knowledgeable. We are happy to rate this business with 5 stars. Excellent service from Beach and sons. They were prompt, reliable, and courteous. Tyler used booties when I asked him to come in and once he understood the problem he got right down to business. He found that my A.C. unit was tilted and not draining in the right direction, he shimmed it so it would drain properly and also found that my exhaust pipe was badly deteriorated with holes in it. He replaced the exhaust pipe and my air tube under the house no longer leaks due to the shimming. Friendly, fast, efficient. I couldn't have asked for anything more out of this repair. Very honest too, which is a hard to find quality in contractor's these days. A lot of jerks out there would've blew the problem out of proportion and tried to get as much money as they could out of me but Tyler was great- he simply solved the problem and then some. read more

I have to concur with the other negative reviews. Their general manager has given us the runaround for 6 weeks, telling us different stories and lies. Blaming the insurance company while not taking responsibility for their negligence. I would recommend finding a technician that values honesty and not giving their customers the runaround. Well they came out (through American Home Shield - AHS) to inspect problems we were having with two of our heating ducts (no air flow). They did not do a detailed inspection, but stated it likely was not covered under AHS because it was probably pre-existing. I asked (twice) if they would return to determine if this was the case, but they never got back to me. As it turns out the problem was a disconnected duct at a junction area, likely caused by the air flow eventually disconnecting the flexible duct. So as it turns out it would have been covered but they were too lazy to determine the cause of the problem. read more

BSR has been a life saver several times for my vacation rental. the first time was last year when a flood in my basement broke my central heating unit and my water heater. I called BSR and left a message around 8am. Maureen called me back as soon as they opened (830) and Monte was out to inspect the issue the same day! I was shocked at given other plumbers I called never even called me back. BSR was amazing! Good communication, offered solutions to prevent similar damage in the future and quick! most recently, I had a toilet leak. I called BSR Friday morning and they couldnt fit me in until Monday (very understandable given its extremely busy in Tahoe in July). But the team actually squeezed me in and got out there the SAME DAY! Leak was fixed and guests renting the home were very happy. I'll always use BSR and highly recommend them to others! read more

Beach Heating and Air Conditioning was very responsive to my request. Monty came out, as scheduled and evaluated the condition of my older heating unit. He cleaned and serviced the unit and explained some of the mechanics, which I appreciated. A new thermostat was required. His office staff, Amanda, scheduled the calls and was very professional. I also requested servicing of the fireplace/blower unit. The next day, Zach, came out and completely cleaned, serviced the unit. And, installed a new thermostat. He was was informative, efficient and totally professional. And super clean!. Both gentlemen wore shoe booties. I've had other delivery and repairman, and the carpets needed cleaning after they left. Unfortunately have to give a 1 star. Beach & Sons came to my house via my home warranty company when my boiler (heater) was making noise. The rep "red tagged" my boiler which meant I couldn't use it didn't have any heat. After dealing with my insurance company to get as much money towards replacement as possible, I requested a follow up visit from Beach & Sons. Another rep came out to inspect so he could provide a quote for replacement. I followed up three times and was finally assured I'd get a quote the next day. Still nothing a week later. If you're going to red tag someone's boiler you should at least respond to them for repair. read more

Living in South lake Tahoe ,are Heat went out Sunday and Monday Beach and Sons sent out a service tech and we were fortunate to get Chad , Chad came out worked on our unit n replaced a few parts and then found out it needed a control board he managed to get it from Reno Monday night and was back here Tuesday Morning to fix it. Chads attention detail was amazing he made sure everything is working and wanted to make sure our house with 4 kids had Heat. We were interested in installing a whole house humidifier. And although it would have been very expensive, Zach Beach came over to evaluate and give us an estimate. He spent a couple hours at our house. In the end, he recommended a much less expensive option of an air purification system. He also installed two Nest thermostats. Zach was such a gentleman. Honest and hard working. He could have made a lot more money, but because he's so honest, he steered us in a better, more economical direction. BSR has been out to fix our gas fireplace and wall furnace. This is a family owned company that is reliable and timely. Unlike most Tahoe companies, they actually show up when scheduled. This company has been awful to work with. While their technician was nice enough their office staff is a mess! They submitted our insurance claim incorrectly, would not take responsibility for the issue and left us without air conditioning for over 6 weeks this summer. We recently needed our furnace serviced, a minor plumbing job, and decided to have a Nest thermostat installed. BSR accommodated our schedule and they were prompt and thorough. Eric and Zach got to work and got everything done. Eric gave us options on the plumbing issue and fixed it according to our wishes (which I believe was the more difficult option). Zach got the furnace in tip-top shape and explained about keeping things running best for the future. He also took the time to get our Nest synched with my wife's phone, and explained about how to work it. Although the cost was high, we did have a lot of work done and we are very satisfied. We'll be calling BSR back yearly for furnace maintenance. read more

Our AC went out on us during the first "heat wave" of the summer, our home warranty company sent Beach & Sons out, Zach was able to come out to our house quickly and get our AC running before our doggies got too hot. He had to come back a couple weeks later to do a bigger repair once approved by warranty. Every time he came out he was professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the unit, explaining the repairs to us and giving us the reasons we may be having issues. Had high hopes for this one after the reviews and my call with the scheduler, but once again, let down by American Home Shield and another Tahoe company with ZERO communication. Scheduled weeks in advance and was told we would be first one on the list the morning of as we had an open house scheduled later that day. Nobody showed in the morning so I called to which I was told they were held up at another 'emergency' job. (strike 1 on communicating). Told them to call me when they were there so we could go over the proble, as I was letting them in remotely. Never got a call from anyone and it's been a few weeks now. (strike 2). Apparently my agent saw them and told me they really didn't do much other then tell her it was cycling and they took my filter because it was dirty but didn't have a replacement and just told her "it would be fine without one for a while" and left. (strike 3). The whole reason I called was because it was cycling with even a new filter, which they would have known if they actually called me. Anyway, there's $75 down the drain and now I have to make a trip up the hill to go replace the filter they took out. read more

In the last 6 months, we contacted BSR 2 times for frozen broken pipe and main shower back up... both times, we wee left with no water over a weekend without a call saying they couldn't come or running late. They were recommended by a friend who had great luck with the young men who worked here..if you have an immediate problem that needs someone as soon as possible--you have a choice...CALL SOMEONE ELSE. Who leaves a family of 5 with 3 kids without water for 3 days and doesn't call to let them know they weren't coming? read more

Eric came out next day, prompt, courteous, professional - found a BIRD that flew through 30 feet of pipe into the fan of the furnace. Patched the screen, got the fan going, we're back in business.
