Do not use this company!! I had them install a new heater 4.5 years ago and it almost killed use. We were getting very large propane bills and could not figure out way. 3 weeks ago my wife luckily woke up at 4:45am to a very strong smell she called gas it wasn't gas but very chemical smell. It drove both of us out of bed. Heater was running and house was full of smoke. I shut down the heater and had to get the wife and cat out of the house while I tried to figure out what was wrong. I found it we had a fire and explosion in the furnace, and it was pumping the smoke into the house. Long story short I went to call Minden Heating and saw they had lost their licenses and had an F rating on BBB. Had another company come out and the furnace was destroyed and needed to be replaced. The furnace was packed with creasote like a wood or oil stove. They tore it apart and found the issue. Although all the tags had been changed saying the furnace had been converted to propane they never changed the jets and it was pumping three times the propane into the furnace. This caused the high use of propane the buildup of the creasote and eventually the explosion and fire. We are very lucky to be alive the Corbon monoxide should have killed us in our sleep lucky the wife woke up. For your saftey never use this company. read more

We had Minden Heating & Air install a new smart thermostat for us. When I called and booked the appointment with Kevin he suggested we don't get a top-of-the-line thermostat because they weren't necessary. I asked him to go ahead and pick out a thermostat for us and call us when it came in. Vince called and we were pleasantly surprised when he said he could be out within the hour. He did an excellent job installing the thermostat and explaining to me how to set it up on my iPad. He was very friendly, courteous and very efficient. The problem we have is the ridiculous markup on the thermostat. The very exact model which is the professional with a 5 year warranty, sells on Amazon for $112.90 with free shipping, delivery by Saturday. Same model number, same serial number as is on the box of the thermostat they installed.. If this is sold for less on Amazon, then maybe he should do his customers a favor and shop around. How Kevin raised the price up to $265 is beyond us. We did leave an immediate phone message for Kevin, the owner to call us back. Instead he sent Vince back out to discuss the matter with us. We told Vince to tell his boss that we were very disappointed and wanted him to know it. We got no response from Kevin the owner, so thus the rating. We will be using another electric company in the future. read more

Excellent!!! Kevin was on time for the original estimate, he sent me the estimate for the job when he said he would and showed up the day he installed my heating and air conditioner on time. He even finished earlier than expected. This all was such a bonus to me because so many others that I called either were late or completely blew me off. I gave these people 5 stars before for a quick response and service. It is now 1 star. I can't go back and edit my other rating. They installed a furnace in my house and the exhaust pipe isn't installed up to code and has been leaking carbon monoxide back into our home. I've called and they have not responded. These guys are terrible do not use them. I had my furnace serviced by another provider and they found the exhaust problem and they said it was so bad they wouldn't turn it back on until they fixed the problem. read more

My old furnace went out, I called them and left a brief message, they called back within 30 minutes, showed up at my house within an hour, gave me multiple options and explanations with each option, we decided on the right one, shook on it, and they replaced my furnace the next day. That was a 24 hour turn around. These guys were honest, professional and efficient. I highly recommend their services. They're just straight shooters and I love dealing with "real" people. read more

I had a great experience with Minden heating. They came the next day after I called them it was just for a maintenance call. Showed up on time did a great job and explained everything. When he got done with the furnace in about 40 minutes but the minimum charge is an hour so he came in checked the all the vents in the house and balanced the heat now all my rooms are the same temperature. They did not try to sell me anything. read more

They came out for service, said the job was done and my AC was working. Came home a few hours later to 85* house and AC not working. They have not returned my call in 2 days at a reasonable time... though 10:15 at night was the time to call back. We are now 3 days without AC and still no contact! Would not recommend to anyone! This company was great on speed and terrible on follow through. Needed a few heating vents moved due to some remodeling. Saw there trunk in the neighborhood, so I gave them a call. They were quick to come over and had the job done by the end of day. Fast forward 2 weeks, we finished our remodel and it came to put in the registers over the vents. The registers would not fit, the holes was cut to small. I called and Charles came out and confirmed that the holes were to small and I would need new registers. I called a week later and was told they were still waiting on them. Now is has been almost 2 weeks since then. I have called several times, left several messages on the main line and text messages with no response. The cell phone Charles called me from has has a full voicemail box for weeks. At this point I will try to contact another provider to finish the job. read more

I ran a few errands and when I got back to the house and my Dad let me know they already came and went! I could tell because it's 98 outside today and now the house is back to 78! Thank you! I am so disappointed with Minden Heating & AC. We used them several times in the past 2 years & they were prompt & responsive. They installed a new AC unit & furnace 9 months ago, just after Labor Day. This July, the AC was not working so we put in a call to them. The mailbox was full & so we called back & finally got through to leave a voicemail. No return call. It was very hot, so we figured that they were super busy so we waited several more days & then called again and left a message. Still no return call. Out of desperation & 100 degree weather we called another HVAC company. Since our AC unit was still under warranty they felt that Minden should at least respond. So, they tried calling the owner of Minden HVAC. No answer. We were concerned that perhaps the owner had some sort of family emergency, but still someone should have called back. Anyway, we gave up and scheduled a service call with another company. It turned out that the Minden service people made a mistake in the installation & the coils were freezing. read more

Horrible experience with this company. I called because my thermostat wasn't working. Got a call back very quickly on a Saturday evening. Vince came within a half hour of my callback. He installed the new thermostat. Monday morning the heater was malfunctioning. Blower was working but no heat. Vince & another technician came right over. Charlie, the second tech, looked at my heater & said he could not fix it because it had "illegal" parts on it. He showed me the illegal part & used lots of technical jargon to try to convince me I would be killed by carbon monoxide if I didn't replace the heater. Then he pitched me on a new heater. He told me he was offering a special price that was way below his boss's regular price & I had 30 minutes to accept this "deal". I called for help from a knowledgeable person who recommended another Heating company who quoted me a much better price. The good company's tech came over the next day to look at my furnace and told me my old furnace could be repaired for very little money. When I tried to find the part that was supposed to kill me with carbon monoxide it was mysteriously missing! Charlie is unethical. So is his boss. This company was trying to cheat an old lady during a pandemic. Not nice. read more

He was able to fix it far more reasonably than I was expecting in no time at all. This, of course, was on the, so far, coldest day of the year. This is one happy camper. Worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. What customer wants to hear that their "priority is fixing the wife's car and getting the kids to school?" What does this have to do with their job in this business? When I contacted the owner he did not even let me give my side of the story. He made it clear he was not interested in having me as a customer. Everyone is busy but this is not the way to treat someone who is willing to spend a significant amount of money. read more
