This place is a vipers pit. I would not call it a church or house of God. It's not even lukewarm; it's spiritually dead. Daniel "Rev. D" is not even remotely biblically pastoral. One could argue that he is theologically deaf. He goes on stage preaching the prosperity gospel and promoting his overpriced, overhyped books. The worship band is tone-deaf and spiritually inept. The children's ministry is mismanaged. The atmosphere is entitled and clique based. "We used to shop at goodwill, now we wear Gucci." -From a Rev. D "sermon". If I could give it zero stars, I would. My husband and I have gone here for multiple years now. It's really been a good experience. We've built a good community with a lot of the staff & our son loves their children's ministry. I believe if you look for something wrong you will always find it, there's not ever going to be a "perfect church" but for us we've truly come to love our Sundays here. I can't say enough good things about this church. My family and I have been coming to Mountain View for over 10 years. Both of our adult sons have chosen to be baptized at this church. The church is welcoming to everyone regardless of your skin color, background or upbringing. This diversity reminds me when I'm there that we are all gods people. I love the topics that are related to everyday life and the world we live in. Pastor Daniel brings a modern look at biblical teachings. To top it off the band is awesome too! My family has been attending church here for over 3 years, and we love it!! Pastor Daniel's messages are so engaging, dynamic, and bible based messages that really hit home with what you are dealing with. I love that when he teaches it is applicable to life and the struggles people go through. I love that he is not afraid to challenges us and preach the whole gospel. The people here are friendly and there are tons of opportunities to get involved and meet people as well. Kids church for children and teens is amazing as well. While Mountain View Church is not my "home" church, I do attend when I am in town, and have been so excited to see all the growth over the last several years. This church is filled with kind, warm, happy, and loving people and every time I visit the church, I leave feeling wonderful and renewed. I am a big fan of Pastor Dan. Its not everyday you see such a genuine, passionate, caring, relatable, and driven pastor who knows how to deliver the word and really bring his messages home in an uplifting way that resinates deeply in my soul. It makes me sad that people would judge the church and the pastor based on something as trivial and insignificant as the pastors jeans. Come on really? That is so superficial, mean, and just ridiculous. True christians don't judge. Pastor can wear skinny jeans, ripped jeans or a fluffy pink tutu for all I care, and its their loss because this church is awesome. Mountain View offers 5 sunday services, which is very convenient and a quaint lil in house coffee shop. A very nice place to check out if you live in the area. read more

Really nice and friendly church. The music wasn't too loud, in my opinion, but that depends on the churches you've been to previously or the churches you were brought up in. Saw a mix of all ages in the crowd. Staff/volunteers were incredibly friendly! I wouldn't rank them lower for this, but unfortunately the pastor spoke so fast, I didn't have a moment to even pause on the message. Really, he should win an award for fastest speaking pastor ever . We absolutely love this church, Pastor Daniel and his wife Amy. These two and all of the staff work tirelessly and go above and beyond what we expected when we first visited 6 years ago. For two people who did not attend any church for over 15 years to look forward to hearing each service is really saying something about this church. Yes the music is loud and it is a bit geared toward young people but getting the word out to the younger generation is so needed in the environment we live in. I love that Daniel is current and up to date with social media etc. It is the way to reach so many people! I love that he dresses in the styles of today! My husband and I attended Mountain View on Sunday. I liked that they had people outside to greet us as newcomers, give us a welcome bag, a short tour and answered questions. I can't go to a church, though, where I have to put my fingers in my ears during all the songs because the volume is just too darn loud. I grew up on loud rock and roll music, but I don't quite get why the volume in church has to be so loud that it's like you're at a rock concert. I can't believe it's good for the little kids to hear music that loud, either. While I know that churches are always trying to get the young people in, I feel like this church doesn't care that much about the 50+ crowd. With five services, I'd like to see one where older people could come and feel comfortable with the noise level. The pastor's preaching style didn't do a lot for me. It doesn't mean he's wrong in how he preaches; it's just not what I personally like. I'd like to see fewer "stories" and more actual Biblical preaching. And I have to agree with Adrienne L.'s comments re prayer. As for anyone complaining about how people dress, God doesn't care how we look in church. And, just because people wear suits and ties/dresses, doesn't mean God thinks more highly of them. read more

I have attended a few times. The first time I went up to the visitor area so they were very friendly. The next 2 times I stood around alone while no one even said hi to me. I felt very uncomfortable and alone here! Plus, no one is wearing masks at all! I doubt I will go back. read more

It was ok at first. You are kind of caught up in the dynamic atmosphere but not necessarily good for you spiritually. We started longing for more true meditative deeper connection with God and found it hard in this atmosphere. This church rarely has alter calks or encourages prayer. If you want to feel good then I supppose this is fine but if you really want to grow as a disciple and work through strongholds in your life that trip you up, this church may leave you empty. I am grateful that all bible believing churches are out there and they each have their place. This just wasn't a good fit. read more

There's no real biblical meaning other than making the church bigger and having retreats just for the pastors and wives and the pastor dress with very, very tight skinny jeans and barely talks to the people of the church. I have been to Mountain View when we first moved to area looking for a Church home to plant ourselves. This church is very friendly and pastors message is good. I have a problem with the rock concert type music with the flashing lights rolling around in the dark room. I understand they plan to keep it that way and so I feel they don't care enough to make at least one of their service times a calmer type of music. I cannot focus on singing the song because it is so loud and I feel like I am going to have a seizure. I know Church has changed a lot over the years and louder music appeals to young generation which I can appreciate. I know autistic needs are sensitive to noise and loudness when I worked in schools for special needs kids. I can't focus on Holy Spirit speaking to me when it is loud etc, and I can't hear myself talk or sing. I miss worship music when it was sung acapella, and men and women took turns singing in a heartfelt atmosphere. This is a very nice Church, but I really wish I could find worship music a little more tame. I know of my neighbor who goes to Mountain View but sits in his car until music is over then goes in for the message. read more

My husband and I have been attending Mountain View Church for the past four years and absolutely love it! When we started, we were snow birds, spending half of our time on the Oregon Coast. When we were in Oregon, the thing that we missed the most was our church. Now we're full time Arizona residents so that's no longer a problem! I've attended church almost all of my adult life but no where have I learned as much or felt as comfortable as I do at Mountain View. I had to see these reviews for myself, and must admit I was very sad to see some of the not so good reviews, I wanted to say that for years I have been looking for a church home. I was invited to MV by a dear friend and from the moment I stepped through the door I felt welcomed, I have three teen daughters who look forward to Sunday's and spending time at this church and we have never felt anything other than loved, welcomed, and we leave feeling regenerated each and every week. Pastor Daniel you speak from the heart and you teach me something every time I'm in your presence. I just want you to know there are a lot more people who love you, your style and your "realness". I have been attending this church for almost two years now. Fantastic people and absolutely love the word. I don't care how the pastor dresses and don't think it matters to god himself! It's not about how people look or what they wear. When you are in church it's about your relationship with God and the great people who celebrate that with you. Awesome church! Awesome people. No way in God's entire universe could I disagree more with Food C 's review. My family and I have be visiting this incredible place for approximately 5 years. In that time I have never, ever witnessed anything that would resemble what he claims to have observed. Dozens, hundreds of wonderful people working together at this church to reach out to the entire community. Believe me when I say my relationship with the leadership of this church is arms length and my opinion is mine and mine only. This is one of the most caring and generous institutions I have ever been privileged to be part of. I pray that Food C. would revisit this institution soon, reach out to any of our greeters, staff or even the pastor, dig a bit deeper, ask questions and see if just maybe that prior visit and his or her comments about it were not off the center line by quite a bit. Mountain View Church, in this 71 year old humble opinion is top shelve, best of the best and I encourage all to visit any one of our 5 services on any sunday and see for yourself. Overall not a bad place to attend. Love the praise and worship. The sermon is great. It's very straightforward and much needed. However, I honestly expect the pastors to dress more decently and neutral. Of course jeans are totally fine but skinny jeans and, sometimes, ripped ones are really not the best outfit to wear to church. Why do we need to be all dressed up nicely when we're attending a wedding party but dressed very very very casually when attending church? It'll be very much appreciated if pastors can give or set good examples for families especially ones with teens. read more

In looking for a new Church, this was our first stop last weekend. We went to the 10.30am Service. Music was horribly loud which was a little off putting, after all its not a concert! The sermon was wonderful however. Today we try the 11.30am service which has a church for High-schoolers which is what my daughter is looking for. Pray that this could be it!! read more
