We bought a house on the side of a mountain with a well. The house had been refurbed just prior, but the well hadn't really been tended to. Our realtor pulled in Mountain View to do a water test pre-purchase and bacteria was found - along with the quite expected hard water (I mean, side of a mountain, y'know?) The seller agreed to put in UV & filtration system for us, and once we'd completed the purchase we called Dan back out to talk about the other options -- I know from lots of experience that I prefer soft water and like really pure water for coffee & tea (seriously, make it with distilled water a time or two and you'll be sold). Dan was amazingly nice and HONEST - on a test after we'd moved in and been using the water for a bit, the hardness was way down. Still not what you'd call soft, but definitely in most people's range of tolerable. But I wanted the water softener anyway - there is such a huge difference in washing clothes, dishes, and even hair in soft water - and I wanted the purest of the pure for coffee and tea so we didn't have to keep buying jugs of distilled water to haul home (not to mention the tons of plastic waste there). So we went for the whole enchilada - softener and reverse osmosis drinking water, and we couldn't be happier. His installer team was top-notch and knew what they were doing, they made quick work of an install with some weird workarounds needed due to the location/construction of our house (we love it, but it's not exactly standard fare!) - they took it all in stride and got it done. I can't say enough about how wonderful a job they did, and how low pressure and honest Dan was to work with. Definitely recommended - both for the company itself, and the product. I have had one of their water softening systems for about three weeks. I wanted to see how the system did before I wrote this review. First, Dan, the sole proprietor, was very easy to work with. He clearly knew a lot about water treatment and his systems. I appreciated his low pressure sales pitch, willingness to answer questions, and ability to accommodate my schedule. Part of the reason I chose his service over other competitors was the fact that he wanted to sell the system not an ongoing service. Now, let's talk about the system. The Hague water system seems to be more sophisticated than ones that Culligan would offer. I like the aesthetics, the compact nature, and the incorporation of filtration. The unit is very quiet and easy to operate. I have had no troubles with the unit since its installation. Speaking of installation, Dan did a professional job. The piping is neatly done and there are no obtrusive holes in the wall to accommodate the unit. Finally, I want to discuss the soft water. I can really tell the difference with softened water. There are no rings in the toilet, the glass in the shower is accumulating next to no soap scum or watermarks, and you feel more moisturized after coming out of the shower. All in all I would highly recommend the service and the unit. read more

I can't say enough good about Mountain View! Working with Dan was great--he will explain just about anything, and he was very helpful as we had several items to install. He is committed to QUALITY service! We had a very difficult home to work with and he spent countless hours helping us figure out how to have the best possible setup for a water softener and reverse-osmosis. If Dan suggests something for your home, I highly recommend you purchase it because he is very trustworthy! We didn't buy the reverse osmosis at first and as a little time went on I started realizing how much better it would be if I would've taken Dan's advice in the first place. As for the products, they truly are TOP OF THE LINE... The water softener is more versatile than any other softener I've seen, and it really is a "jack of all trades" for removing a lot of nastiness from your water. The reverse osmosis is just the cherry on top... it's like having the best bottled water on the market come right out of your sink!
