For someone as active as me, it's a challenge to sit still while my brain keeps itching to dive into problem-solving and goal-setting. But I adapted. During my walk, I saw a deer! It was such a magical moment--we walked together for a bit, with him leading the way and me following. Thankfully, he didn't attack me (I was close), but I think he felt good energy from me. On another note, I'm fully embracing the vegan diet here, and my body is loving it. I wasn't eating meat before except for chicken, but now I don't even feel the need to buy chicken anymore. The injury caused lower back issues and sciatica on the left side of my body. I couldn't walk for a month and a half and had to use a cane for 4-5 months thereafter. Lotus Garden has such a very intimate setting with instructors that are kind, knowledgeable and challenging. They have extra equipment on hand for newbies just learning yoga practices with a $15 drop-in fee. This place healed me and I am so grateful. I am no longer walking with a cane and my body is becoming stronger from the inside out. I now try to go 5 days a week and I'm looking forward to learning how to meditate through their free meditation classes.

Personally, I've studied yoga for about 15 years, primarily on what might be called "ashtanga" (8-fold path), and only recently have encountered a legit school of bhakti yoga. For me, bhakti is just such a direct path to my aims in ashtanga, that it's becoming obvious to me it's a "smart" investment of time. The lines for the food has gotten longer. What can you do? Gotta eat. lol What I've learned is just to get the stuff I don't get very often. Stuffed angel wings & Cambodian style fried bananas, especially. Since it's hot, grab some more food to take home & have a refreshing drink for the ride home too, since it's so hot. Glad all the huge statues are still there. Still very colorful place. Love coming here for the New Year to celebrate. Just gotta know what you're doing, because it's very crowded.
