My…read moreproject consisted of the airless spraying of the exterior walls (all stucco), eaves, trim, etc. and exterior doors of my house, garage, and two other small outbuildings. There were numerous places that the paint was passable from one angle but light/non-existent from a different angle. Of course, I didn't discover these until days/weeks later but Joe wanted paid immediately. Don't pay him until you have thoroughly examined everything, EVERYTHING; otherwise once he's paid there's a good chance of you not seeing him again. They're not much good at brush work either. One door needed repainting, which they did but it looked (I have pics.) like it was repainted with cottage cheese. It took me hours to strip it down correctly, sand and then repaint it myself. The other main issue I have concerned approx. 150 sq. ft. of faux rock. It was painted but we both agreed that it would need another coat and that he would return, but not right away. I literally asked him to give me his "word-of-honor" (which he did) that if I paid him an additional $400 up front (which I did), he would return to complete this. It's been approx. 11 weeks since an initial call to him to return to fulfill our agreement. He said he would be contacting me to setup a day to return but hasn't contacted me and has since been ignoring/avoiding my attempts to contact him (calls/emails) to fulfill our verbal contract. Get everything in writing, as he will tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear! I honestly don't believe he is a real painter, but a wannabe who had a little money and thought he'd open a business. If you want someone who stands by you and his performance with your project, Joe Fortino is NOT your man. When it happens to you, don't say you weren't warned! Any man who will not keep his word is a real piece of (hmmm) work...

I had to go back and clean the caulking off of the siding and the trim work that he did. The hole he cut on the tube of caulking was too big. So when he goes to smooth out the caulking. There was so much extra that it looked like there was more on his fingers then around the trim. I had to use a small wire brush to clean off the caulking. Then when the the job was complete there was still small pieces of trash on the ground. Painting the trim. - I gave him the paint prior to starting the job. So the trim was pre painted. This made things easier once the trim was placed. This left a little touch up work to be done on the trim. Wrong, there was paint going atleast an inch or 2 in the siding. Just in different spots. When doing paint trim you use a 3 inch brush to paint. He should have had a 1 or 1.5 inch brush to put the finishing touches on the trim. Also had a roller that was a standard roller to use on the trim that was 1x4 all around the door. Unprepared. This is minor but I have done quite a bit of painting in my lifetime. I have never had a can of paint have so much paint on the outside of it that I had to make sure it was dry before setting it down and getting any on me. The gentleman came without a ladder. I had to lone him my ladder so the trim on top of the slider was done by sight and feel. I paid $650.00 to have this done. Was not worth the money for the poor quality of work. My final opinion is I would not hire him for this kind of work. I hope the he works on his craftsmanship as good Handymen are needed and can have a fabulous career doing this kind of work.

He charged some of us $400 dollars to replace 2 valves and charged others $280 for the same repair. He didn't even replace the entire valve, only the top part that was easy to replace. When confronted with why he charged some people more for the same work, he said "well they just got lucky". He also told us he guaranteed his work 100%, but when replacing the valves didn't solve the problem he did not offer to look into any other repair. We were fortunate to find an honest person who found the actual problem, made the repair for $60 and its fixed! I don't normally do reviews but in this instance, I don't want any other senior citizens to be taken advantage of.

I have been waiting for my garage door for over 2 months. The installer was efficient in installing the door. I had asked him if he could install a garage door opener that I had still sealed in the box. He called his office for permission to install the opener. The installer was told if they installed the opener the door's warranty would be null and void. I told the installer that it was fine (the warranty is only a year). I then told him that I would pay him for it or I could have the contractor pay for it. I called and got an okay from the contractor. The installer refused to install the opener. He said that the company would only install openers that they buy. I suppose the makes more money that way.
