I usually only write reviews on yelp when a place is exceptional to me so I have never written a bad review, but I guess there is a first for everything. I felt compelled to write a review for Movegreen. I have moved countless of times, usually without movers so this is only my second time hiring movers and I am really disappointed. My fiance counted on me to set up the movers for our 1 bedroom apartment. I scheduled our Movegreen appointment for a specific date and time 3 weeks in advance. I am always on top of everything so I am used to getting things done efficiently and on a schedule. I confirmed our appointment with Movegreen a day before (on a Friday) and had even confirmed our appointment time. The next day (Saturday) when the time came the movers didn't show up. I gave it an hour before I tried contacting the main office and I had forgotten that their office hours are only Mon-Fri with no other weekend contact number. They never gave me a contact number, assuring me that the movers would contact me and be there for our appointment. Them not showing up or communicating with us ruined our entire moving day. After an hour and a half we decided to get going with our move because I had to be out of my apartment that day and we had scheduled appointments and deliveries for our new place. We had to spend extra money we did not plan to spend, to rent a U-haul and between 3 of us had to do the entire move. We missed one of our appointments, which was hard to schedule and got delayed with everything else. One of the movers ended up calling me 3.5 hours later to say they were on their way from a previous job that was about 35 miles way, which means they wouldn't have gotten to my place til about 50 minutes later. By that point I just asked for my money back because we were not about to pay double for our move and it was way too late. I understand moves taking longer than expected, but I always expect communication. Supposedly the movers didn't know they had to be at my place by a certain time. What are appointments for if you are just going to show up at whatever time you can and if a moving company is running late it is not only courteous, but NECESSARY to inform the customer that they won't be able to make it on time. I am never going to use Movegreen again and I'm sure my fiance won't be trusting me with setting up movers next time. This is the first time something like this has happened to me and it made our moving experience even harder than it should have been. read more

Used the yelp deal and was super easy from booking to the completion with just 2 days notice. The move was a local one, small but with heavy items like couch, fridge, bed, and piano. There were few glitches in stair well that got me uneasy paying by the hour but my piano made it safely through the tricky stairwell. They guys were great and professional. Movegreen just moved us from Ojai to Palm Desert and we are really happy with our experience. Sergio, Aaron, and Jose could not have been nicer! They loaded our belongings in Ojai very quickly and met us the next day in Palm Desert. The temperatures were triple digits in the desert, but that didn't slow them down. They expertly loaded all of our belongings into two different storage units and were so friendly and nice to work with. Best movers in town! Fast and friendly team of movers that got everything done with zero damage. They even did it in the rain (can't believe I moved on the one rainy day in SB). As a follow up, I had to come back and rant some more about Erik and his team. We have had the need for four or five local pick ups and deliveries throughout our ordeal and MoveGreen has been there to help every step of the way. These guys get customer service and know what it means to build relationships. When I need something, it's an email or phone call away and I never feel like I'm being gouged or taken advantage of. The pricing has been fair and we've been cut more than one break along the way. I absolutely can't thank Movegreen enough. Love this company and will be a customer for a long, long time. read more

This moving company should never even be in business. Our Apartments had to be renovated their company got the bid. They did such a poor job of packing there was damaged items all over the place they put food and liquids and the electronic items they were not shrink-wrapped!! A ton of my moving boxes were missing as were a lot of the other tenants they put things like my personal ladder outside where they left it and the construction company was using it instead of in my house where it should have been becuz it belonged to me... A ton of of my boxes and items were missing and I'm assuming other tenants got them and the same thing happened to other tenants... we were told we had to file a claim and we had to have proof which whennyou have a bunch of stuff in your in the middle of packing and moving you don't think to take a complete inventory of your items so you're just basically Sol and they probably know that... It's pretty pathetic. It made my move just a wonderful experience!!! extra sarcasm added.. I would say definitely use at your own risk they are not worth it I don't care if they were paid $1000000 or $1 they sucked. The gentleman that came back to help unpack were nice but everything was packed in different boxes like three different rooms were packed in 1/2 box part of 1/4 was packed in one box part of another dark in the same box on and on.. There was no Rhyme or Reason to any of their packing skills... their training was pathetic everything was pathetic. It was an extremely poor experience frustrating and I would not recommend them to anybody as I said they should not even be in business. If I would have been able to pack my own stuff I would have had a professional style job done myself... there was no organizational skills with this company... there was no planning nothing. I'm not sure what happened but it was piss poor planning and piss poor execution. Extremely disappointed extremely frustrated and Will NEVER Ever ever recommend this company. I feel our property management company should receive a fulandl refund that wasn't even a job sort of done... I believe they even had an extra apartment that had overflow because all the boxes weren't in the appropriate places as they should have been. All in all nice is fine..but it dznt cut the mustard. 2 thumbs down definitely !!!!!! It appears they walked but do not talk the talk. I can't really say enough great things about Move Green. I had a big move in town and they sent 2 trucks and 6 guys. We had heavy furniture to move up two stories but they were really great! Movegreen did our move from Santa Barbara to San Diego with a stop to drop off at a storage unit. They were incredibly professional and great at their job! We had Frank, Sergio, Ramiro and Justin and they were so efficient and careful with our stuff. Everything arrived in exactly the same condition as when we left. They guys were really nice and did a great job remembering where things were meant to go as I haphazardly told them what was going to our new place and what was going to storage. Wow. what a horrible experience. I used them 2 years ago, everything went fine, no problems. cost about $500. Moved again a few months back, with about the same amount of stuff and the exact same distance. cost me $1500 plus over $700 in damaged items. Now, yes, I did have to pay for packing. Unfortunately, I couldn't be there as I was out of the country for a family member's funeral. My neighbor helped oversee, and reported that the two teenagers that showed up, initially refused to pack anything, then stalled all day, moving very slowly. Took them 2 days to pack a 450sq ft apartment. They stole 2 bottles of $60 dollar scotch. Damaged my computer beyond repair. stole a bookcase. damaged several other items including irreplaceable items collected from overseas travel. and they are going to pay 60 center per pound. So a $60 bottle of scotch that maybe weighs a couple of pounds, I'll get $1.20 for. STAY AWAY! read more

However , Alex Moore was my SUPER HERO and scheduled his movers immediately to pack and store my daughter's dorm items in a secure storage POD. The initial sales-call and evaluation is great but this is a classic case of over-promise (like delivering on the date promised per the contract) and under-deliver (damaged items). Eric and Patrick from Movegreen said that instead of consuming 5 miles per gallon (which is the consumption for most moving truck companies who use traditional gas), Movegreen is able to only consume around 10 miles per gallon using bio diesel powered trucks.
