In the last two years I've gone from benching 60 lbs to 105 lbs, deadlifting 200 lbs to 220 lbs, 0 pull ups to 3 unassisted pull ups, and 1-2 push-ups to 11 push-ups. I especially enjoy the pace of Ananda yoga, holding poses to really relax into them, resting between each side and each pose to help integrate the energetic and physical benefits. She ensures each student is safe and in proper alignment. She is an expert and embodies the philosophy and intention of the practice. The instructor was super positive and made the workout feel comfortable at my very own pace. She offered variations for advanced, intermediate, and beginner levels, and took the time to walk me through the equipment and guide me during the 45 minute session. Whenever I was unsure about the next position, she would come over to teach me the movement, adjust my posture, and explain the correct form. She was extremely encouraging and would tell me I was doing a great job. I appreciated how she kept moving around the room, taking eyes off of people so they wouldn't feel pressured or judged. The space is on the smaller and intimate side, they only had 5 reformers. However, it definitely helps ensure everyone is receiving hand on guidance, so if you're hoping to be able to hide amongst the crowd, this definitely isn't the place. If it is your first time visiting this location, I definitely recommend showing up 10 minutes earlier in order to have enough time to sign a waiver and get comfortable with the instructor.
