I experienced a stroke in late 2020. I needed further PT for right foot drop foot and pain. The staff and Management can not be more helpful and caring. I have had over a yea of PT at other facilities and usually the show the routine and then you are unsupervised and on your own! Not at Movement Systems~! They are with you every step of the way and I am making steady if not above average progress! I no longer have severe pain in my foot and I am walking with a leas severe limp! I'm a pretty big fan of this place after finishing my 4 weeks of prescribed PT. I was sent here with a possible (likely?) ruptured plantaris tendon. I'm still not really even sure if that actually was the issue but the staff at Movement Systems got me all fixed up in 4 weeks. First off the people working here are awesome. There's a fun, young staff, not your typical stuffy doctor's office. Jack and Tony get you on the regimen to get you back in the gym without babysitting you. You get out what you put into it. So do your exercises, do the caterpillar (go to hell caterpillar), do everything they tell you to do and you will be back on your feet in no time. The office is clean, and they have a sweet patch of turf on the balcony outside. Everything is always neat and kept up. Its just a very comfortable place. I think the clientele is pretty multinational since i heard a lot of english, vietnamese and spanish and there are always tons of Russians getting fixed up. And there's Lyly. Who trains like a boss. My wife injurred her self at the gim about a year ago. She had back pain,hip pain extending to her knee, and numbness in her foot. No body could figure out what was wrong or how to fix it. We did MRI's, X Rays, saw three orthopedic surgeons, a chiropractor (who made it worse), three physical therapists, and two accupuncturists. Enter Jack Chen. He was referred to us by my brother in law (him self a physician and a patient of Jack). After only one visit, he figured out what was wrong and offered a treatment plan. Being a professional myself, I can usually tell if some one in the medical field knows his stuff or or not. I was very impessed by Jack's mastery of his field and level of knowldge, not to mention his professional demeaner and gentle personality. I had herniated disc and sciatica pain for almost 18 months. I was going to chiropractor who initially helped but after some time my symptoms were not getting any better. He recommended Movement Systems Physical Therapy and I think that it was the best that could happen to me. I've been going there for 4 months now and my pain is practically gone. When Su told me she would get me back on track I was a bit hesitant to believe it but wow, she was right. At Movement Systems they give a lot of one on one time with the main PTs. They are really good at finding the right methods for quicker recovery with minimal pain. They provide a clean homelike exercising environment. They even hand you the remote for the tv, when appropriate of course. The staff is friendly and moreover very knowledgeable of the various exercises and make sure you are doing them correctly. I injured myself playing basketball and had ACL surgery for a second time, however, this time on my left knee. Of course to get back to playing again, I need to do some rigorous rehab and begin physical therapy immediately. My orthopedic surgeon referred me here. I'm 13 weeks post-op and it's been all positives and no negatives. The staff has been wonderful! They makes sure you're doing your exercises properly while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Su Wang has been the physical therapist guiding me along. She doesn't just makes a list of exercises for you to do and expect you to be able to them just because it's been "x number of weeks". She has done a good job modifying my workouts\rehab exercises based on my progress. She wanted to get right back into basketball and knew I wanted to be pushed. I am glad to have been referred to Movement Systems and will refer them to anyone else. read more

This is my second referral to Movement Systems once last year for lumbar disc disease treatments and this year for a right hip bursitis. Frank Ngo, DPT has been my main therapist and Jack Chen, DPT also when Dr. Frank was out on business. There is no other physical therapy clinic like this one! After my prescribed time here I am virtually pain-free compared to my first visit in severe bursitis pain. The right combination of warm-up, exercise, stretching, massage, and heat, along with printouts of home exercises are the routine. I had my second knee surgery in December 2008, and was lucky enough to have Jack as my physical therapist at CPRX from late December until March 2009. After my surgery, I had to learn how to bend my leg again, then I learned to put weight on my leg again, and then I learned to walk again. As many people who have had surgery know, this process can be somewhat frustrating as it seems as though it should be an easy task and yet, it is one of the most challenging things you can do. Jack's calm, caring demeanor helped to make this process less frustrating. Jack never rushed the recovery process and I always knew that I was not just another patient on his list of people to get through for the day. He always took his time to encourage me and make sure my recovery was going as I planned. By mid March (less than 3 months into physical therapy), Jack had me back in shape with his use of multiple plyometric exercises and other light weight training, and had me on the treadmill improving my running techniques. Three months earlier, this would seem a foreign concept to me as I thought I would never run again (a hard thing for a former college soccer player to accept), however I am now able to run, jump, skip, or whatever I want and I give all the credit to Jack. I was not surprised to hear that Jack was starting his own physical therapy practice. I was sent for a lower back (Sacroiliac pain) physical therapy - at Movement Systems in Fountain Valley. Jack took care to all of my pain points- not only my lower back, but my IT bands, my knee, my upper back. It is a very friendly environment, young and vibrant, very respectful and I was pleased with the way they treated me. I have only six week therapy and I regret that I have to say good bye to this great team of people. What amazed me is that Jack and the staff, do not look to keep you coming over and over- like a chiropractor does, they try to help you and don't want to see you again in pain. I have learned what I did wrong and how to exercise to improve my back. I will never let myself to become weak. Many people think that physical therapy is just a bunch of exercise you do- and anyone can do it. Yet there were three people with lower back problems and all three (including myself) had different exercise to do, because no pain is alike and you need a professional to asses your injury. I am glad that my Primary doctor insisted me to go to Movement Systems and not to another physiotherapist because now I am pain free- in better shape and I understand that our body doesn't take care of us if we do not take care of it. I was referred to Jack at Movement Systems with a level two sprained ankle. When I started with Jack I could barely put any pressure on my foot. His office was quite a distance away from my workplace but I'd travel the 24 miles (one way) because Jack and his staff are awesome! I immediately felt some relief on my first visit with the massage therapy, ultrasound, and ice, and I knew right away I was in the best place for my recovery. His goal is for you to get better and not re-injure yourself. Jack and his staff are very conscientious about ensuring that you follow a good pace and heal properly. Everyone is friendly, thoughtful and fun, but at the same time professional. I experienced their good nature with patients of all ages. The office is clean and orderly. Jack runs a top notch practice and I will happily refer him to anyone looking for the best physical therapy in town. My only regret is that I will miss everyone that spent time with me. I was referred to Movement Systems about a year ago because I developed chronic severe pain on my left shoulder.The pain had been so bad that it would always wake me up at night and it was impossible to even get a good night's sleep! It would consistently hurt if I lay flat for a while and would get better once I'm upright again...so strange...I'm only in my mid-thirties and was so worried that this problem would be with me forever because it wouldn't go away and literally for several months straight I would go to bed only to have shoulder pain to wake me up, and had to pop ibuprofens every night. I also could no longer go to the gym, it was depressing! When I started physical therapy I was a little skeptical because MRI had showed so much damage to my shoulder already. I have been treated by both Dr Jack Chen and Dr Frank Ngo, as well as their staff. Everyone was nice to work with and they explained which exercises to do, etc. Making appointments was easy and they hooked it up with some discounts because my health insurance deductible was so high. Slowly but surely the pain started to subside after few months' treatment. Now my left shoulder is good as new and I can work out and there's no pain at all! Its like the injury never took place at all! I don't know how they did it but they did, its amazing! I am so grateful to Movement Systems for fixing my shoulder, and now my quality of life is back to normal. They know what they're doing! Thanks! read more

What else can I say except that Jack is awesome! All physical therapists are not created equal and I sure did find that out when I hurt my hamstring a number of months ago. I had been out of commission for over 6 months, unable to run or do any type of workout without extreme pain. By the time I had found Jack I had already tried everything... doctors' appointments, anti-inflammatory medications, muscle relaxers, acupuncture, massage, stretching, and other therapists. Nothing was really getting to the cause of my pain. I started doing some research and found Jack, who is a DPT and graduated from one of the best physical therapy schools in the country. I wanted to get his opinion. On my first appointment I was sold! Jack was awesome!! First he did a thorough evaluation to see exactly what the problem was. Then he sat down and talked with me. Jack set me at ease with his calm demeanor and the way he answered all of my questions without hesitation. It was obvious while talking with Jack that he has expert knowledge of the body, muscles, etc. Jack explained what he saw during his evaluation, what my issue was, and how we were going to fix it. And basically that's what he did - he fixed my leg. Maybe it wasn't quite that easy but honestly I was feeling better after only a couple of sessions. Pretty soon I was able to run slowly for a few minutes on the treadmill. I couldn't have been happier!! I still continue to do the exercises Jack prescribed and I am now training for another marathon this winter! I can't thank Jack enough for getting me running again!! I have all the confidence in the world that Jack knows his stuff. I would recommend him to any family member or friend without hesitation. Rest assured, with Jack you are in good hands. I dislocated, chip fractured and tore ligaments on two sides of my right ring finger when I fell and hyper extended my finger. I originally started physical therapy through another clinic, which was a horrible experience. The woman was cold, rude and pushed my finger so hard I saw spots and almost passed out. I have a high tolerance for pain, which means this was bad! They woman could care less when I said it was too much. My finger would swell so much, I was not able to do my PT exercises at home. As I explained this experience to a friend, they suggested Movement Systems. I changed clinics immediately and the experience couldn't have been more different. Jack & Su were amazing! Not only does Jack try to provide an environment that is inviting and makes you want to go to therapy, they know their stuff. It's incredible how a tiny little finger can cause so much pain, but they did their best to minimize the pain and got my finger back into working order. I wouldn't have continued my therapy if it wasn't for MSPT and my finger would be frozen stiff in a straight position. At least now I can bend it and have my gripping ability back.
