I haven't been to the theaters in years and we went to take my daughter to Toy Story 5-great film, go see it- and we pre purchased our tickets, and I didn't know what to do when we got there. No ticket taker, but there was a lady on the phone at customer service, so we stopped and waited. She was giving lots of info on the phone but hardly acknowledged us. Finally she said "I'll be right with you." Then when she was off and I told her we just need to scan the code, she was like, "ohh!! Of course!!" Then said that we could have used the kiosks way on the other side behind the ticket purchase are. There's just no clear path for check in options and if they are going to pay someone to stand there, put up a sign please! The concession stand was stocked and no line. $38 for a large popcorn and 2 large sodas. Damn. But that's life right? Popcorn was fresh, free extra plates and cups, free butter and jalapeños. And soda was the large pick your flavor Coke machines. Our day tickets were $10, plus a $2 fee per ticket. *rolls eyes* but could I have purchased them at the theater without a convenience fee, I'm still not sure. They have lots of bathrooms. Staff is willing to help you find your seats and move others if they are not abiding to the seat rules (you pay for a seat and sit where you paid), when you can find staff. The seats are weird and were a bit hard for my 3 year old to sit in. But the cup holders in between go up, so I was able to put that up and hold my leg against her chair to keep it from folding up on her. I'm griping more about how much theaters have changed than Maya itself. All the staff we interacted with were nice enough and the place was clean, restrooms stocked. Bonus it's close to home. We will be back for Moana 2. :)

We checked online and saw that there were many seats available, so we decided to buy our tickets at the theater. Love that there is a senior discount and even a senior discount day. Bought tickets for all and headed to get popcorn and a drink. We always get a large popcorn and drink combo and complimentary containers for the kiddos to put popcorn in, they don't eat much. You get one free popcorn refill with the price. That works just fine. Cup holders available and comfortable seating. We enjoy coming here to watch movies and then going to Mad Duck after to eat.

Our showing was at 4:45pm we arrived about 15mins before just incase there was a long line at the concession. When we entered we went straight to the self serve kiosk, although someone was the front he was helping others. They do have a full bar. The line went fairly quick. Our order: 4 kids box: popcorn, drinks and a snack, small popcorn with 2 waters. It was the day before Toy Story 5 premiere and was a bit disappointed to not see a lot of the souvenirs displayed. Even the kids popcorn box wasn't Toy Story themed. Not sure if they sold out already or they were saving it for Friday. The popcorn was fresh and delicious, they also add butter to the top as requested. The seats here are reclined and so comfortable, the temp was just right, not hot or freezing cold. We went to the standard showing. The restrooms clean, I was so happy and surprised to see sanitary barrier cloths on the diaper changing tables. Overall, it was a great experience!

We went to this theater in Madera, even though we usually go to the movies up in Merced on the few occasions that we go to the movies. This was a bad move. The ticket prices were not cheap, but I'm okay with that if the movie is good and the theater is nice. The movie was fine for the family (Tale of Desperaux), but the movie theater itself was a joke. It is dirty - the first row we tried to sit in had chairs so dirty even my 3 year old was grossed out, and he thinks playing in the mud is awesome. The floor was so sticky that I was worried I might lose a shoe. The equipment is garbage - the sound was popping and their were black streaks all over the screen through the entire movie. The staff couldn't care less - I walked out early in the movie and politely told the only human being I could find (the guy at the ticket window) about the black streaks on the movie. He said he would let someone know, but nothing changed and as far as I know no one did diddly. At the end of the movie, the closing scene had barely finished when the cleaning staff snapped on blinding halogen floodlights in the theater and pushed in to start "cleaning". No chance to savor the movie for a minute or catch the little "bonus" scenes in the credits. We won't be back; I could understand some of the technical issues if this were an old movie at a dollar theater, but it was a first-run movie at full price.

It's a little worn down, but ya gotta love Fresno's history and the group, promoter who brought Chris Isaak to Fresno. Did you know he's a Valley guy from Stockton? I had balcony seats. I had a great view of the stage and the entire place. Keep in mind there are No elevators. Stairs only. The plus is there are concessions and restrooms on the second floor. The concert was great. The sound was excellent. Performer sang a lot of his hits. He even came up to the balcony area where I was sitting. I'll post that on my social media profiles. The video is too long for Yelp.
