I'm really disappointed that I have to write this review without a better experience to talk about. I've had 2 moves with this company. The first one was in January of 2023, which went fine for the most part. The movers did break some fragile items like dishes, glasses, etc. However, I never reported it because I didn't feel like it was worth it to make too big of a fuss about it. My second move was Thursday, 7/10/25 and while the move itself was okay, one of my TVs was cracked at the top and damaged in transport. Both of my TVs worked perfectly fine and in excellent condition prior to the move, but once I was able to turn them on and test them out, I saw a significant crack that has now created a line down my TV in a matter of days. I sent an email as soon as I noticed to the email provided, and I described what I could see at the time, as well as pictures, prices, and the original purchase date/description. I didn't receive any follow-up from the company until the following Wednesday, and everyone seemed very helpful until I got an email from a claims member who advised me that their policy was to offer $0.60 PER POUND for the item damaged, based on some insurance policy that I was not advised of. This would have come out to $36 on a $450 TV bought in January 2023. Also, there's a $1000 deductible for claims. If they damage anything that's less than $1000, that's a loss for you. As a "goodwill offer" I have been offered $50 TOTAL. It's completely unacceptable. The movers took a 2.5 -hour break in the middle of my move, and now I am left to deal with an issue that I didn't cause! The original quote was for 3 hours, and the movers started taking their sweet time at the end, taking the move well over the expected time. I spent over $900 on this move and over $500 on the first move. The way this has been handled is completely unacceptable, and I feel scammed! Please read the bad reviews before you consider using this company. I've since learned that they send all kinds of offers/incentives for referrals and good reviews. Also, be advised that if you agree to any settlement, you may not share your experience, hence why I did not accept. My advice would be to move anything of value yourself and let them move your junk items/heavy furniture ONLY because they will not replace or make a dent in the value of anything you have that's worth money! read more

Reasonably priced movers, and the lowest of all I checked with. I emailed and got a call, then a confirmation email and was able to give them a list of items and more info. Tyann and Jacob were great. They were both polite & efficient. They disassembled my desk with monitors after not being able to get it through the doorway as is. Unexpected, but no extra charge (thank you!) They also wrapped things in blankets. I paid by check, and gave cash tips. I would definitely use them again. read more

I decided to try Moving Ahead Services after two of my friends used them and gave me a glowing recommendation. Suffice it to say my experience with the company was not as good. I was moving from my apartment that was located above a bank. I gave the Moving Ahead driver specific directions on where to park in the lot to not block the banks ATM. He ended up parking in the wrong location and when I asked him to move he gave me attitude and said "we are fine where we are they can get to the ATM." After I explained the only way people could is if they were willing to drive over a concrete divider they finally moved their truck. Inside my apartment I had a treadmill that needed to be relocated to my next apartment. It had been moved in two previous moves by Two Men and a Truck. While my treadmill was big the two men from the before mentioned company were able to lift it and carry it into the new place both times. However, the men from Moving Ahead made no effort to try and lift the treadmill. They tried to strap it to a dolly and when it was too awkward to move on the dolly simply stated the treadmill was broken and refused to even attempt to lift it. Admittedly it had a few superficial cracks, but it has always worked flawlessly. I ended up telling them to throw it in the dumpster because there was no way I could get it to the new apartment if they were unwilling to lift it. One of the movers Moving Ahead sent did not appear to be in good enough shape for the job. He was probably in his 60s and appeared to struggle lifting anything. He stopped multiple times for water breaks and bathroom breaks. The other mover stopped for water breaks and a cigarette break mid move. If I wasn't paying them by the hour I would have been fine with them stopped for a bit if they needed to. But not that was obviously not the case. Two Men and a Truck may be more expensive, but had I of used them again I'm convinced I would still have my $3,000 dollar treadmill. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I can't even describe how livid I was when they just NEVER SHOWED UP. No call, nothing. I called the local number and quickly realized how useless the dispatch center was. All they could do was "send notes" to the movers requesting them to call me, which they obviously never did. The service - or lack thereof, more appropriately - I receive from this company was beyond abismal. Luckily, I was able to find another company to help me out very last minute (shout out to Buckeye Movers for being the best!) and it worked out. I feel like the most important aspect of hiring a moving company is that they will actually show up, so do yourself a favor and don't even bother scheduling with this company. I was moving from Cincinnati to Columbus. We picked the hottest day so far of the year to move, and I don't know how the guys worked as hard as they did. On day 1, the packing was done very professionally, and finished much quicker than anticipated. The move itself took a bit longer as I have so much junk. But the team performed better than my expectations in the heat. Pre-sales activities were great also. I travel for work a lot and would have been difficult to set up time for a site survey. But using Skype, we were able to get a quote very quickly. I highly recommend these guys for your next move. read more

After a successful move with these guys I payed my bill in full at the end of the move. They then call 2 days later saying they incorrectly calculated the bill and will be charging another $600. This is so unprofessional and has insured that I'll never use these them again. read more

UPDATE: The management worked well to resolve my bad experience with one of the movers. They mentioned it did not represent them as a company and have taken the correct action for that individual and worked well to resolve my issue. Although the move itself was an unfortunate experience, I'm confident if I hired them again, I would have a much better experience. My moving experience: Both movers that showed up were extremely nice however it felt like one of them wasn't the right fit for moving heavy items. He talked to me quite a bit when I felt he should have been helping the other mover; he complained of shoulder pain, complained about how heavy my king mattress was, and seemed extremely fatigued just going up and down steps. The other worker seemed to be doing all of the hard work; he was pulling up the heaviest items on a dolly by himself, when it would've been faster if both men were helping. It felt like the one that was struggling was trying to find other things to do other than loading/unloading the truck (talking/telling stories, carrying one light item at a time, etc). He did help take apart one bed frame because I didn't have the right tools, but when I asked him NOT to put it back together to save time at the unload, he still put it together. Because of this, just getting the truck loaded took 3 hours. I had a 2 bedroom condo that wasn't even completely full, no large couches, and only one dresser. Because it took a total of 5 hours, I was really worried about an appointment that I had to leave for at 2:30 and that I would miss it, so I started helping unload the truck at the new place even though I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I hired movers because of my pregnancy and I didn't want to have to do the heavy lifting. I was alone because I had to adjust my move date at the last minute, so I didn't have additional help from my family/friends. Because I was alone, and a woman, I feel like I was taken advantage of and forced to pay for an inadequate moving experience that took 5 hours (and $800), when I was expecting it to take no more than 3 hours. I heard of Moving Ahead via Angie's List and there were a lot of great reviews, which I why I picked the company, but I'm left with an unpleasant taste in my mouth and ended up paying A LOT more than I was anticipating. read more

I went with H&H They destroyed a new hardwood floor. They drug my fridge sideways across the floor. They scratched and dented a new fridge. They threw a $5000 sofa on the rental truck. Then they drug it across the rental is the same position. No insurance No invoices No hand tools. After the move I was told they under charged me. I paid the difference. We had them load a truck for us last summer. It was a mess. Communication from the office to the movers was horrible. They didn't send the right number of movers. The movers showed up thinking they were loading a pod and they were loading an entire house into a truck. They were completely unprepared and also appeared to be high. We ended up having to have family come over and help because the movers who showed up were totally ill equipped to help us and we were being charged by the hour. When both the movers and myself tried to speak with the office staff they were incredibly rude. They also told us they would follow-up with us about the disaster and they did not. read more

We did a full house + piano move. From the first quote to the end of the job everyone was professional, friendly, and punctual. We received both a confirmation email from the company, plus two calls from the crew before arrival on the day of. The four man crew headed by Jeremy did a great job carefully wrapping and transporting our furniture, and were good about communicating with us throughout the process. They also did a nice job with the piano and a curio cabinet, both very heavy and fragile pieces. The guys were helpful in positioning items in the proper spots and providing suggestions for furniture placement. The one thing I would have the company do differently is provide a rough estimate of how many hours they think a certain job will take based on the number of items listed in the estimate. This will help customers both plan their time out better and have closer to the proper amount of money saved up, if necessary. For example, we were given a quote based on a 2 hr minimum estimate, but the job ended up being 5 hrs. In any case, it wasn't a big issue, and I would highly recommend these guys for both regular moving and piano moving. read more

Fantastic experience with these guys. After a strong recommendation from a local friend, we hired 3 guys for two hours to help us move into our new place in Columbus. Moving Ahead met and exceeded our hopes and expectations! The guys were friendly, professional, and surprisingly quick. I could tell that they worked well as a team and got along with one another, too. They finished unloading all four of our (BIG) moving pods in under 90 minutes! Since we'd hired them for two hours, they even helped us set up two beds and move some furniture around to our liking. While Moving Ahead Services helped us out in a serious bind (they came on short notice after another company flaked out on us), their movers managed to ruin some expensive furniture. Their response to our complaint was adequate at first but after a few weeks of silence, we received compensation that was well below the amount of damage done to the furniture. UPDATE: Moving Ahead Services reached out to us and was very apologetic and agreed to come out and repair the damage that was done. I believe that this was an isolated incident and Moving Ahead Services did what they could to correct this mistake. read more

I used this company and would not recommend it. They sent very inexperienced movers to move some very expensive furniture to their warehouse for shipment out of state. They damaged one of the pieces during the process. Had I not been there the damage would have been severe. They attempted to put a 400 pound highly finished table on a metal dolly with no padding to protect the surface. One of the guys said it was his first day. The other said that they obviously didn't have enough people to do the job properly. Also, the company is poor in ongoing communications. Contract is sloppy and does not clearly delineate charges. Very amateurish company. Maybe my experience was a one off but...I doubt it. read more

I had a scheduled move and in the beginning, I had some red flags. I was told they were professionals and would wrap my furniture and place my mattress/box-spring in plastic bags (I would have to provide them) I did and they did not use them properly. They did not put my box-spring in the bag and they left part of my mattress out. My box-spring was ripped and the mattress was left dirty in the corners. Several items were broke during the move. Only one of the movers was professional. The other two stopped moving the items and when asked the professional mover said he didn't want anymore items broken so he decided to move the items by himself. Of course, this added to the time moved ($$). I hired this company because they were veteran's, but had I hired two movers from the neighborhood (non mover professionals), I would have had a better moving experience. About a year ago, I moved from an apartment in the short north to Victorian Village less than 3 blocks away. I have moved about a dozen times throughout the county and these guys were by far the worst for the following reasons: - Move was estimated to be 2-4 hours, the move took over 8 hrs or 2-4x time estimate - More than 1/3 wound up being placed on the worn floor or outside of the house (e.g. putting a 8 foot ladder in a detached garage when specifically asked for it to go in the house) - The movers had separate appointment at 1:30pm and when they found out it was canceled (around 11am) everything slowed down dramatically - I only moved a couple blocks yet the mover told me they "got lost" and it took ~45mins for them to drive less than 0.3 miles (note there were not traffic issues or road construction during the move) - They filled ~1/3 of the truck, yet spent excessive and unwarranted time stacking everything to the ceiling on the front - They took about a dozen lunch & smoking breaks, which they charge me the time for - A $900 washing machine was broken to the point where it needed to be replaced Stay away! read more

I could not be happier with my experience with Moving Ahead Services. I have had terrible experiences with other moving companies in the past where multiple things were lost or stolen. I let them know this ahead of time and they assured me they would take care of my things. As promised, Trey and Andre showed up on time, patiently loaded all my items into a truck, and ensured that everything was secure where they placed it. Moving Ahead was easy to work with as they were very responsive and easy to work with providing quotes for loading services. They called the day before our move for confirmation and called several times when as they were scheduled to arrive. When Andre and Darian arrived they were pleasant and were careful with our things as they loaded up our truck. They made helpful suggestions on what we should do with some of our pieces of furniture, told us what we should do to stabilize the truck, and helped us unload some things for my family. Beware of this corrupt company. Do not be fooled by their claim to be veteran owned. In my experience I found their entire management team to be unethical, rude, condescending, and cold. Lots of damage to our home and we paid for the insurance to cover any damages. Instead of being honorable like you expect a veteran of the military to be, we have been badgered, told they will never do business with us again, and refused to fix all of the damage from their movers. Why are their reviews so high??? Because you can have others post multiple great reviews for every bad one they receive to raise their scores. They may be veteran owned, but they are operating under unethical leaders. I only speak the Truth based on a horrible experience. All of that damage could have been avoided if they used proper moving techniques and the correct equipment. No straps, no dollies, no gloves, no call-outs to one another when going down stairs, and rushing with heavy pieces. Don't blame your clients because of unstable pieces. It would have never been an issue if your crew actually knew what they were doing. Your company is an unprofessional as they come. read more

We had a very good experience with this moving company for our long distance move from Cleveland to Kansas. They came to our place to pack the first day, loaded the truck on the second day, drove the third day, and unloaded us on the fourth day. They even hitched up our car (wheels up) behind our moving truck. We had three different teams of people come out for all these days and everyone was courteous, respectful, and easy-going. They were eager to please and listened to all my instructions about special items that needed to be packed more carefully, etc. Nothing got damaged during the move and we were very grateful for their services!! read more
