Leave A Legacy

I had the best experience at Leave a Legacy! My husband and I are preparing to move into our RV…read morefull time and do not have room to store the many Creative Memories albums. I brought 3 loads of albums, loose photos and old camcorder videos in to be transferred to memory "brick" (my word). The staff was amazingly helpful and kind which is just what I needed as this part of my down size was very difficult. Marsha has been very helpful with ensuring photos were scanned timely in order to meet our personal needs with an impending family passing. Each album page scanned was done so well! The videos they downloaded were better then iMemories! They even scanned the front and back of a framed picture! This is a very costly process but the work they put in to each scan and the ability to plug in my "brick" and pull up any video or photo is priceless! Thank you Leave a Legacy/Marsha/and staff for saving our family memories!

The entire experience exceeded my expectations!…read more Marsha made me feel completely comfortable sending all my irreplaceable home movies (35 years worth). I sent three as a trial and they came back very professionally done and in a timely manner. I then sent the next 34 years worth of home movies all the while crossing my fingers that they got there safely. Fortunately they did and again, the hard drive I received back was done very nicely. So basically: good prices, great service and friendly staff.

Digital Express - 8mm & Super 8 Film transfer

Digital Express

I had about 12000 feet of 8mm family home movies, 40-65 years old, languishing for decades in metal…read morefilm cans. When I decided to spend big bucks to get them digitized, I sent sample reels to 3 vendors and checked their results and cost estimates. I chose Digital Express for the quality, fair pricing, and a sense that owner, Jim, was actually going to care about those irreplaceable films. My decision was the right one, although I had second, third, and fourth thoughts as I handed the package of 50 reels to the post office for shipment to Florida. Jim digitized the entire batch flawlessly and stored the 160 GB of resulting .avi files on a portable hard drive I sent him. The playback quality is at least as good as I remember it sitting in a darkened room while the movies were projected on a beaded home movie screen decades ago. Jim pre-cleans the film and color corrects the output for optimal results. This is the place to trust with your valued memories. Since Jim charges only for the actual footage he scans, and skips blank leader frames, the final price came out lower than the initial estimate -- a sure sign of an ethical vendor. NOTE -- there are different methods for digitizing movies. The simplest method is basically to project them on a screen and shoot a video of that display. Those results are far inferior to the better technique of scanning EACH AND EVERY movie frame and assembling the results into a video file. Digitizing all those reels wasn't cheap, but I'm glad I took the financial leap. It's the closest I'll ever get to having a time machine. Now I'm busy sharing the files with members of my excited family.

Can't say enough good things about Jim and his business, Digital Express. I had years of home…read morevideos that I had transferred myself (incorrectly) from VHS to DVD and I could not watch them because I forgot to finalize the process. I brought my DVDs to Jim and he transferred them all to a jump drive. Wow - years of lost memories restored! Jim and his wife a sweet people too! Just be clear about what you want and you will get it! Kat and Mike
