What a joke. Do not use. I was asked to deal with the owner directly because he was creeping my mother out. So after 3 hours of him sitting in the back of his truck (just to put a drive belt on) he says the transmissions shot. Have to put a new one in. Well after he came back out he said no its not that. Then bent the push rod and put it back saying ill give you a quote about a new rod. So if you want your mower broken and feel unsafe at your own residence... Then call Greg read more

So, our tractor was broken....and my husband is not a mower fixer. He is a hero (so said the The Chapel of Four Chaplains & The Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation) as well as the Philadelphia Police Department...but not the lawn tractor. So when the the steering shaft was hard to turn he called Greg Hurst who comes to you to fix your tractor etc. He has a "Mower tech at your doorstep" company which seemed to fit the bill. He heated it, and lubricated it and now it is much easier to turn, working on it about an hour. He's extremely fair and gives you an honest price and it gets fixed in no time! I had a great experience this morning with this company, all of the reviews I had read when looking for someone to repair my lawn tractor were true and not exaggerated. Prompt, courteous, fair priced and on their game when troubleshooting the problem. Kenny, Greg's son didn't waste anytime when he arrived, loaded the mower in the back of his mobile workshop and quickly diagnosed the problem and had it fixed in no time along with two other small problems he found. I would call Greg, owner of Mower Tech, "Dr. Greg" as far as repair of lawn tractors and other small engine equipment. He was quick to respond when I called and showed up right on time. Once at work, he quickly diagnosed the first problem but that led to a second and third related problem. ALL were competently repaired. Greg wasn't guessing when he worked. He KNEW what was wrong and exactly how to fix it. He also changed the oil and filter and repaired a leaking tire. After all of this, I expected a huge bill but when he showed me the total, I was very pleasantly surprised. Busy man, I called Greg a couple of times to get on his schedule. He told me that he had been pretty busy...it was worth the wait. Once We connected it was great, he set an appointment and on the day of the appointment called to say he'd been running late. It was great that he was conscious of my time. I was the last appointment on a Friday. He got here and was professional and polite. I had two lawn tractors I had trouble starting, one hadn't started in over a year and a half. He took care of my best John Deere first and ran down the problem fairly quickly. Gave me a price and asked if I wanted him to look at my older John Deere too. He worked on it, got it running and gave me some tips on cleaning out the engine where squirrels had packed materials around the fins of the engine. Reasonably priced considering the repairs were done right here at home, no loading and unloading all done at the convenience of my home. I needed my riding mower blades sharpened because I have not done it in 8 years and my grass was looking dead. I tried to get the blades off myself and I realized that it's hard for someone with my particular set of skills. I jacked the tractor up with my car jack, got under it and realized I didn't have tools big enough. I went and spent $100 on tools and came back and still couldn't do it. How to you get the blades to not turn while you unscrew the bolt that holds them in? I tried a bird house my daughter made when she was 4, that didn't work. I realize now that may need some help. I said out loud in the garage for all my tools to hear "My name is Drew and I am mechanically challenged". It's late April and my grass is long, I waited too long I thought to call someone to do it. I called someone from the yellow pages, some big company and they told me they would pick it up next week and have it back to me "maybe" in a month. What? I'm screwed I thought. Well, I called Mower Tech on Friday night. They came to my house on Sunday morning, fixed everything right there in my driveway. It took less than 1 hour and the cost was much less that the tools I bought on my own a few days before. They are awesome and will be the place I call without question from now on. read more
