Moxie is a unique coffee micro-roastery focusing on serving high-quality coffee and sourcing rare single-origin beans. The interior has a clean, modern industrial style tailored to the coffee enthusiast crowd. There is free covered parking in the back, which is incredibly helpful for avoiding the summer heat, and long, open wood tables provide an inviting spot to open your laptop and get some work done. Pastries and baked goods are made on-site in an open kitchen that you can view towards the back. A 16-oz latte was $6.25 and a butter croissant was $5, which is typical these days. Recommended.
Work on your computer coffee shop vibes. I ordered a matcha and it was so yummy! Definitely not the sweeter matcha type so if that's what you're looking for it may not be here. The pastries are made in house and so good! I tried the chocolate croissant and the almond pastry. Both delicious and crunchy. The service was good and brought our drinks when they were done!
The vibes here are great. Lots of seating and natural light. It looks like it would be a good place to work from. Everyone was very nice and helpful. They didn't have the Raffah when I was there, which I wanted to try, so I got my go-to iced vanilla oat milk latte. It took awhile for the drink come out. I had high hopes, but I was a little disappointed. The espresso was on the bitter side. The vanilla flavor was good, but was lost in the bitterness of the coffee. I'd like to give it another shot at some point and try their matcha.
What a gem. Moxie Coffee completely won me over from the moment I walked in - the staff are genuinely some of the kindest I've encountered, and the whole place just has this beautiful, considered aesthetic that feels so intentional. The interior is stunning: warm, minimal, and full of personality. The shelf displaying their coffee bags and packaging is absolutely my vibe. I could honestly browse it all day. They source rare, small-batch beans and it shows. I picked up a red honey processed Ethiopian coffee with tasting notes of raspberry, clementine, hibiscus, and rose petal, and it delivered on every single one. Worth every penny, even if the beans are a splurge. My only regret is not grabbing more bags. On the food side - the tomato thyme danish is a must! Please, please ask them to heat it up. It's incredible either way, but warm? Another level entirely. The whole pastry case looks amazing and they're actively building out a dedicated bakery section, so I can only imagine this gets even better. Watch this space. All in all, Moxie hits on every front - killer coffee, beautiful space, wonderful staff, and pastries that deserve their own fan club!
I've been to Moxie a couple times now. They have a nice modern space that is great for enjoying a cup of coffee. There's a reason why Moxie's coffee wins awards; their drink specials are always interesting and incredibly good. They really never cease to amaze me for their ingenuity and flavor! Moxie is definitely one of the best cups of coffee in Phoenix!
Moxie has creative lattes that are fun and unique, the classic drinks like their cappuccino are perfect too! & don't even get me started on the miso pecan spelt cookie it was next level! The vibe is super relaxed and minimal, making it a great spot to study, work, or read. Just a heads up: weekends get busy. It's a large café with indoor + outdoor seating, but tables can be hard to snag (I barely found one on a Saturday afternoon). If you want to try award winning coffee, freshly baked pastries made in house and be in relaxed ambience then Moxie Coffee deserves a spot on your list! (:
My absolute favorite coffee shop in Phoenix! I've been coming here for 4 years and have never been disappointed. I subscribe to their monthly coffee program for over a year and have never been disappointed. The coffee here is literally award winning today we tried two drinks from their specialty or signature menu; the Musa and the Rafah. The musa had a macerated banana cold foam on top of their nitro cold brew. The rafah was honey foam on top of a pistachio butter espresso and whole milk. They were both so delicious The service today was so friendly and very helpful and accommodating. They of course were busy but that's to be expected as this place is so amazing. Totally the vibe!
My daughter brought us to this amazing coffee shop where they have award winning coffee. Of course, I had to try that. It's called the Letty Bermudez, which is a filtered coffee. I have to agree with the hype! It was absolutely amazing. They serve it black and hot. I cannot describe how smooth and light the coffee was. It was so flavorful we added nothing extra. I highly recommend the Letty Bermudez! Notably, the coffee shop was very crowded at 2 Pm, filled with young professionals typing away on their computers. The shop itself has a very minimalist environment. We had a nice time!!
Super cute coffee shop with so much space to sit, this would make a great study spot. They had a good sized menu which had a lot of cool, craft drinks. I really liked the idea of the drinks we got, but I found both of them a little bitter and unbalanced. My palate may just not be tuned for these kinda of drinks, but I thought they were fine. I don't have a sweet tooth, but this is definitely not a shop for someone with a sweet tooth. I love the decor of the shop, so cool!!
I got the specialty drink Rafah - Houjicha by Tea Dealers, Espresso, Honey, Pistachio Butter, Whole Milk, Honey Cream Top. Normally, when you see this many different ingredients, it's not good. But they did such a good job crafting their specialty drinks, we were impressed. The flavor complexity is discernable and lovely. No issues with service. Huge space to hang out or do work.
My son is a fan, so I had to check it out while visiting Phoenix. This is not the place to come if you're in a hurry. The drinks are made to exact specifications and that takes time. Be prepared for a line. That being said, our coffees were outstanding. My Lefty was perfectly balanced with just a touch of sweetness and the bright note of orange peel. The Nola was rich and almost chocolatey with the addition of chicory. The Cortado was rich and bold. This is where coffee connoisseurs should be visiting. It also has a bakery on site, and I enjoyed the flaky ham & cheese croissant. The setting is clean and simple. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the Phoenix area.
Never seen Moxie so crowded (congrats to them on the Global Coffee Awards win!), but they handled the crowds so well and delivered with consistent quality as usual. This visit, I decided on the Eavesdropper, a seasonal latte special with sweet potato, browns sugar, and spices. It was exceptional and exactly what I love about Moxie! No ingredient overpowers the other. You can clearly taste the espresso, sweet potato, and all else. The torched marshmallow was also crazy good. The outside was sooo crispy, but it was soft and melty inside. On a typical day, the A&W is my favorite reliable go-to for a lovely cinnamon spice. The baked goods were sold out today, but their miso pecan spelt cookie has been so wonderful lately too. Moxie is actively building out a bakery section in their store, and I can't wait for more options! Even on this busy day, we were able to find parking within a few minutes in the garage, so don't be deterred!

Pros: easy parking in the attached parking structure. Decent coffee. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. Coffee was decent and strong. Cons: Expensive and they need a better organization system when it comes to delivering the drinks. I came on a busy Friday morning and the staff was doing their best to deliver the finished drinks but instead of calling out names or numbers, drinks were just piling up on the counter and the hard working staff had to do their best to remember(?) the people who ordered them... Other than this system, the coffee was good so I might return during a less busy time the next time I am in Phoenix. read more
Found Moxie Coffee from Yelp a few months ago. However, because I live closer to the Scottsdale Quarter I'm not in this area very often. Well today my husband and I made the trip and it did not disappoint! I love that they have a window outside you can order from or order inside! Parking was super easy and was covered! The baristas were friendly and 10/10 for service! She explained the drinks and helped me find my perfect coffee! I wish they had a location in N Scottsdale, but I'll definitely be coming back! One of my favorite coffee shops! The flavor combinations are always unique, original, and never miss. The employees are helpful and give great recommendations! Was in town for 4 days and went to Moxie for 2 of them! Found on yelp and thank goodness I did, the NOLA is probably one of the best drinks I've ever had. I get half sweet on all drinks most of the time but the initial try I did as is and don't mess with perfection. The staff was super sweet both times as well which is always a plus! Absolutely love and will be back anytime we head to AZ. read more

Good coffee and nice downtown vibe, but very expensive in comparison to other places in the area. They do carry chicory coffee which is unique, however it appears the Togo drinks are larger than if you stay in store. Will be back because it's close to home, but definitely not a budget friendly option. read more
Gorgeous coffee shop with lots of space and amazing drinks. Their specialty drink offerings change every once in a while and they're always a great variety from milk lattes to fruity drinks. Good place to get some light work done but I wouldn't suggest doing your intense studying here - music is pretty loud and a lot of noise in general. Your perfect coffee shop for just about anything. I loved how friendly and knowledgeable the baristas were! The drinks were beautiful crafted and reasonably priced for what you get. The ambiance was chill, casual. A great place to have a date, study/work, or hang out. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Their syrups are made in house and quite flavorful! I got a 16oz iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it included 4 shots! The flavors of the coffee were really nice and complemented their homemade vanilla syrup. They used reusable glasses in store and plastic for to go orders. I love the sustainability aspect and love the glasses and cups they came in - felt high class and of quality. read more

Tried Moxie today. I went for the New Orleans iced since it has rave reviews. It's pretty good but mostly tastes like a vanilla cold brew with cream. I would give it four stars but the lid was unacceptable. Lids with a gaping hole in the top are an injustice to moms with young children! Also, there are an alarming number of grounds at the bottom of my cup. That is a barista blunder. Get real lids and plastic straws and I will come back and bump up your rating. read more

THE BEST COFFEE IN PHOENIX! My friend introduced me to this place and this is by far my favorite (we have been to many of the coffee shops in Phoenix). The atmosphere is very relaxing, light, and calming. It is a great place to do work. But with it being so good, it does get packed, so come early. All of their coffee is good, but they also have a seasonal menu with great items. I recently had one that had pistachio and cold foam (forgot the name) and it was one of the best lattes. The pastries are also delicious. We got a cardamon one and it actually was very well balanced. It had a consistently like a cueller donut almost. Such a gem of a spot, would highly recommend! read more

This place is really cute and spacious. It has a very relaxing ambiance. There's a parking garage behind it and parking was free and easy. The baristas were amazing and very friendly. The drinks were really good - although a bit on the higher price range. They were also selling cookies (I think from a local baker) that were great too. read more

My fiancé and I have a slight obsession with trying to find the best coffee wherever we are living/visiting. And currently we have been living in the valley for four years. At this point in time, Moxie is our champion. Not only do they make very impressive specialty drinks but even their classic coffee, espresso and latte drinks are always amazing. One thing that we think really sets Moxie apart is their consistency. Their drinks never disappoint. Unlike many other shops where you might get a really good drink one day and then the next day it is much lower quality. On top of all that, their staff is incredibly kind, and cool. They help set the really chill but modern vibe in the shop that makes it a great place to chat with a friend or get work done. And one of my favorite things about Moxie is that if you have your coffee in shop, they will always serve your drink in one of their beautiful mugs or glasses. Most coffee shops tend to serve their drinks in disposable cups whether you're staying or going and I think it really ruins the experience. Moxie seems to really pay attention to the finer details:) Oh and one more thing! Their pastries are insane and they warm them up the perfect amount before they serve them to you! Moxie is 10/10 and over the years they've really gained my loyalty and my recommendation to anyone visiting or living in the valley:) read more

Cute coffee stop with plenty of study space and even some shaded outdoor seating. Their rotating special drinks are worth a try and staff are super friendly. Street parking isn't really an option, but they do have a parking garage with free space. read more

Sometimes when I go into a new place to check it out I feel like a secret health inspector, it's science. SBL and I tried Moxy yesterday and it was interesting. I gave it 2 stars for the pricing. It was kinda whak how expensive everything was in here, def above average pricing. Walking in it was loud. They didn't have anything in the walls and they had cement flooring and it was just echoing. (Thankfully I worked at a place like this for many years so I want phased. Also not sure "thankfully" is the best word) It was packed inside and the staff were all interesting. The girl who took my order was rather frazzled but she was super nice. I ordered a dark chocolate mocha with oat milk. We waited and waited and just watched everyone during thus the health inspector persona activated. Staff kept the place very clean and tidy. They had very nice equipment and they were on top of making sure things were how it should be. However the amount of time it took for people to get their coffee was wild. Lots of staff just talking and visiting and on their phones wile everyone just waited for their dranks. I got my dark mocha finally and it tasted like unsweetened cocoa powder. At first I was like oh no her didn't! But as time went on I was like I don't think I'm a fan, but I'm still gonna drink it. Mixed emotions on basically this whole place. Thanks to the staff who complimented my new shoes tho. So over all probably won't go back, but the health inspector in me gave this place an A+ read more
This is an excellent cafe! Sweet service, serene ambiance with the music not too loud, and A+ coffee. I got the A&W latte with almond milk (seasonal specialty drink) and the pecan sticky bun. You can really taste the quality in the latte! I loved every sip. The sticky bun was enormous! And delicious. I loved it. Excellence in a cup. Truly. I think 50% of my reviews revolve around coffee, and I'm always looking for new places for caffeine kicks, so when I found good coffee I have a tendency to SHoUt and verbally gush......in short, Moxie's coffee is both memorable and spine tinglingly, brain-synapse-firingly good. I'm not sure if some of the words in that last sentence are 'actual' words, but they are the superlatives that seem to fit this morning. I had visited last week, but the visit kinda washed over me. Average? No. Cant be. Maybe the Clockwork Orangey milk bar-esque decor whitewahsee my imoression. Needed another visit. Deserved another visit really. The coffee is top notch stuff - when you taste it, it's clean, with no bitter aftertaste (none of that Folgers stuff here!) Not that I'm dissing Folgers - an excellent kick-start to anyones day. But Moxie serves the stuff that is sheer A-grade quality that you know elevates it about average fayre from the very first sip. And yes. I do intend to return and try the unique pour-overs. A word to about the vegan croissant - it's my favorite food. And this here, is an excellent croissant. Crispy, flaky, and with a little moisture deep inside. So, so good. Why only 4 stars? Well. I'm nitpicking to be fair - I like to sink into my coffee house seating, and what's inside is not very comfortable - at least, not to me. The plastic chairs hurt my legs a little bit, and I couldn't sink into my usual glaze haze - the table and chair layout also impacts the atmosphere a teensy bit in my opinion. Very modern coffee shop on 16th street. Parking is behind in the garage. Outside patio is very noisy from 16th so bring your noise canceling headphones! Inside is an ultramodern space where the coffee is roasted in full view of patrons. Baritas were super friendly... maybe because of our age, which definitely is not represented here, or they are just that friendly (which is probably more accurate). I decided to try the spice pear latte with oat milk from the seasonal menu. The latte was great! I appreciate that they don't upcharge for the alternative milk. Plus their 16 oz is a quad shot! I had a 12 oz with just a double shot (standard). There are also a few other offerings that I'd like to try too, but I may have to wait until I feel more comfortable sitting inside as the road noise on the patio is just too annoying to have a conversation with your table mates. If you haven't tried their coffee, you should stop in! read more
