We've been with Moxie for years and they've always been responsive when issues with pests have persisted through treatments, even to the point of sending out regional managers, who are the top level experts! We mainly struggle with ants and the knowledge and attention of Moxie experts to the issues combined with their retreatment and follow up (even if it takes 3-4 cycles of treatments) has made a huge difference. We switched to another company for a year and found service and control over pests to be severely lacking, so the change back to Moxie hasn't made us question it since. For the complaints about issues persisting, there is an unlimited number of times they will come back and address it with stronger and more strategic approaches- any complex pest issue will require more than 1-2 treatments! As for the door to door complaints, I get it, I do not like door to door either, but sometimes you find something you didn't know you'd need, especially when new to the South and all the pests that can come along with it. read more

We've been using Moxie for a few months now. I don't think their treatment is making any difference on the volume of spiders, ants etc around our house. I even had them come out for another "free" service in between visit. Yesterday we were scheduled for our 3 month maintenance service visit. He didn't arrive until 7:30pm. The technician was very nice but I didn't like having someone at my house for a scheduled routine maintenance at 7:30pm in the dark. They should be able to provide my service during regular business hours. The cost for their service combined with the actual service we are receiving I cannot recommend. They need to improve the customer experience in my opinion. read more

We have been using Moxie for approximately 1 year. I called them in a panic because of a Yellowjacket nest in the wall of our house .... Everyone, from Daisy (who answered the phone and coordinated visits) to Christian who came out the same day, to Titus who followed up with a visit a couple days later went above and beyond. BJ was awesome. He showed up the day after the requested warranty visit, killed a yellowjacket nest, treated the fire ants which were deceased by the next day when he came to physically remove the yellow jacket nest and even carried a heavy bag of dog food he noticed my wife struggling with. We've been long term customers and have never had any issues with Moxie, until recently when the company tried to scare us into spending over $17,000. Jayme came out to our house and quoted us almost 3x the price for a service and used every scare tactic in the book to convince us the service needed to be completed within 24 hours. This company seems to hire only the nicest employees. I have never had any issues. they will come and re-treat the whole house if you do. They are professionals. SCAM. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. They clearly monitor and remove bad reviews from Google, but not here. Along with everyone else on this page, we have had a terrible experience with this company. They straight out lie to you when they come to the door. We are renters, and specifically discussed how we can't be locked in, as we don't know if we can renew the lease. As everyone else has said, they tell you there is not fee to cancel and you can cancel any time. THIS IS NOT TRUE. We had Zach Brooke, in Cary, NC specifically, lie to us. They swipe through the contract details on the iPad, and then you sign without knowing that there is a cancellation fee, because they straight out tell you to your face that there is no fee. We cancelled because we truly cannot afford to pay it anymore. When they called to demand their $160 cancellation fee (which is more than the actual payment for spraying) we asked to speak to customer service. She then made a fake "click" and answered the phone again, in a sarcastic way, saying she is the customer service rep. She stated "you are wrong, they did not say there is no cancellation fee." The gaslighting is unreal. Clearly, this is how they do business everywhere. Additionally, they came to spray without us knowing in April, AFTER we had canceled and confirmed we canceled service. They are trying to charge us for this also. I see this has happened to another person in the reviews as well... We are currently waiting for a call from Zach Brooke, who told us there is no fee and signed us up. So far, they have refused to remove the fee and continue to gaslight us. read more

I signed up the service when their sales rep knocked on our door in mid August. He told me that they warrantee their work such that the cobwebs will be disappearing after the first 2 services. Also their work is covered for 3 months so they will come by every 3 months for a treatment. The first treatment was done in a week and the 2nd was supposed to follow in a month afterward. When I asked how the billing is done, he said the only way is through credit card charges. The traditional way of leaving a bill and sending in the payment through mail is not an option. The issues: 1. After the 1st service, I noticed the cobwebs were reduced. However, they were not completed gone. These were the old cobwebs so it seems that the technician was not very thorough for their first service that I would think they would want to impress their new consumer. 2. Since I don't get any statements (either through emailing or by mail), I had no idea that the 2nd service didn't happen until I called today (Oct 22, 2021). They confirmed it never happened. 3. I asked for a cancellation of my contract and they told me because I didn't finish all 5 treatments as stated in the contract, I will be billed for an additional charge of $150 because my first treatment was "discounted" for $199! 4. I never received an email from them for my account information so I don't really have a way of knowing the contract agreement. Since the charge is going through my credit card, I hope the contract is really "cancelled" and will not see surprise charges to my credit card in the future. read more

I really hate to give bad reviews, in fact this may be my first. This company was very kind and promised to take care of multiple issues we faced after moving into a new home. We often work from home and were here whenever the first two services were offered. Both gentlemen were kind but not as knowledgeable as originally promised. They also did not complete half of the services we requested and left quickly and without communication. When going on the costumer portal, they both reported completing things that they simply did not do. They promised to cover areas that they did not examine or touch. They said they placed bait traps that were not set. They said they swept areas for webs that were not swept. They also promised that we would see a difference after a month, and we did not. We communicated this with the sales person and they cancelled our subscription. They then charged us $150 that was "discounted" when we signed our contract. Where they failed was taking ownership for their lack of promised service and their difficult communication. We tried for three months to get ahold of them and were forced to pay the fee with no apology or promise of better service. I hate to say we do not recommend them. read more

I've rearranged my schedule multiple times to accommodate their appts and no one showed up today. I was told a tech would come between 10-12 and no one came. When I called, their call center rep (because you can never reach an actual employee of Moxie or manager) said there was nothing in the notes about a narrowed-down appt time. Their chemicals are toxic so they say children under 2, pets and pregnant women can't be around during the interior sprays. So I've had to arrange for childcare only to have no one show up. And they lock you into a contract without much regard for life changes (ie income-earning spouse laid off after COVID so where is a money for a recurring $140 pest control bill supposed to come from?) Gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they did at least reduce one of the payments. Plus we still get bugs, to top it all off. I will be glad to be done with this company and would not recommend them again. read more

Account management was deceiving in clearly communicating terms of "offer". An account rep named "Kaitlyn" in the Raleigh area offered discounted service for a few more months since I wanted to cancel the service. I asked, and she assured me that I would have to explicitly say if I wanted to continue after the offer period and that the service WOULD NOT automatically renew with previous rate. Well, the scheduling continued anyway and then I got a bill for new service at the quarterly maintenance "regular rate". I called them and complaint about this, stating that my intention was not to continue the service after the "offer" period, and that my understanding is that I would have to explicitly agree to continue, as explained/assured by "Kaitlyn". I told them that I did not agree with the way this was handled and that I wanted to cancel as originally intended. The rep "Kaitlyn" stated that I still owed for the regular quarterly maintenance service fee $150 and that on top this I would not get warranty service for the paid quarter because I closed my account. I do not recommend this service as you have to keep calling them back because bugs keep popping up and it's expensive, so that's inconvenient. The service reps that came to the home were generally personable so really don't have a negative impression of the ones that serviced my home. However, as a service, and in particular the way the rep "Kaitlyn" handled the situation seemed deceiving and inappropriate to me, at best. I'd use a more convenient and efficient service such as Pestie (for a fraction of the cost of Moxie) where they ship you what you need on a schedule and you can apply when you want easily without having to call to schedule a service rep to come to your house (Moxie), only to have to call them multiple times during the quarter for re-treatments with a product they claim is active or good for months--can't trust the Google reviews. read more

we have had multiple issues with Moxie, but the last straw was when on their most recent visit they left BOTH gates to our backyard open and one of our dogs got out. fortunately we realized this and located her, but it could have been fatal in this heat. They had left the gate open before and it was even noted in our record to check the gate. in addition to this, we have had several times that we had to call them back. We have terminated service and will be going with a more reputable company. read more
