Lisa and Jamison are professional, punctual, fun, and just genuinely cool people to work with. I went to a bridal expo. (Spectacular Bridal Show) in town early in January. Moxie Studio was listed a "Friendor" at the venue we were getting married at (Canyon Gate Country Club,) and I saw that they were on the roster to be in attendance at the expo. I figured it would be a great way to put a face to the name and introduce myself. Since we had already previously taken our engagements photos with a different company, I wanted to make sure I got a good feel for the wedding photographers before booking since we were not going to get that first initial session to get to know each other, etc. The expo. was pretty packed, but I found their booth no problem. I scanned through a few of their books (STUNNING), and after chatting with Lisa for a bit I was pretty much sold. Their packages are very fair, and the fact that you are getting two photographers is just wonderful. Throughout the process, Lisa was super communicative and responsive via email. We scheduled two consultations before The Big Day. One so that my husband could meet them and we could all kind of talk about The Big day in advance, and then a second one just a few weeks out from the wedding to go over more specific details, etc. I like Moxie Studio for a ton of reasons, but I was really just impressed with how organized they were. You can tell that their process is a well-oiled machine. In a really comforting way though, not in a way that makes you feel like you are just another couple and just another wedding. You can tell how passionate they are about their work, and it shows through with the beauty of their product as well as their dynamic between one another. Points to mention- they have a "photography checklist" which kind of makes sure everyone you intend to get a photo with during the wedding is listed out. I've had lots of friends express how they got so caught up on the actual Big Day that they missed crucial photos. My girls and I got ready at the Red Rock, and my husband and his guys got ready at the Best Man's home. Both Lisa and Jamison traveled separately to each location to capture the getting ready photos- super nice touch. Throughout the entire wedding, I received multiple compliments from friends and family. "Wow, your photographers are all over it!" or "Where did you find them, they're awesome?" I meant to write this review last year, but finally getting around to it now... Lisa and her husband Jamison are amazing! From start to finish everything was so easy/simple. Lisa answers emails quickly, and she was able to book a date that worked well for us. Lisa shot our family holiday photos last year, and even though our toddler was in such a bad mood, she got great shots of him! Jamison was able to get him to smile even though we couldn't! Lisa & Jamison were SO fabulous to work with! My husband and I hired them to do our engagement and wedding photos, and we're utterly blown away with their work. First off, they were so much fun to work with. They were willing to drive all the way out to Mt Charleston to take our engagement photos, and knew a great spot to take photos there. They were very good at giving us direction, and the four of us had a lot of fun taking photos out there. All of the photos turned out incredibly beautiful! They are so good at managing to capture perfect lighting in their photos. I literally gasped when I saw some of the photos. After that I hired Lisa to do a boudoir session and that was a total blast! She was so much fun to work with, and made me feel very comfortable. I felt like a model during the session, and I couldn't believe how gorgeous I looked in the photos she gave me afterward. I'm pretty sure that photo session permanently changed how I view myself. Lisa and Jamison were very helpful in working with us as we planned for the wedding. COVID changed a lot of our wedding plans (venues, guest count, times), but they were willing to roll with the changes, and even helped us pick the perfect ceremony time for lighting (and helped build our timeline in a way that allowed for all the photos we wanted). They even attended our wedding rehearsal so they could check out the backyard we were having the wedding in and scout out the best spots for photos. By the time the wedding day happened, I felt like Lisa was more of a friend than a vendor. We built everything by hand in our wedding from the arch we got married under to the center pieces to the paper crafted photo backdrop, even the cake stand. We needed to rent a moving truck just to transport everything. We did it not just to make the memory special for my wife and me, but equally important as a message to our friends and family of how much they mean to us, and that they are worth it. I mention this because when it came to capturing the moments and elements of the wedding, we needed the very best. One thing many people also don't consider is the synergy that photographers and videographers have with other professional vendors like the DJ. If you pick a DJ and videographer that have a long history of working together on past weddings, they know where to stand and not to stand as to not get in the way, they have past experience connecting all the necessary hardware to get the job done, and it makes everything run so much more smoothly and you greatly reduce the risk of disasters happening. In addition to researching a quality photographer/videographer at a valuable price, I also researched making sure that all the key vendors have a solid history of working together on past weddings and have a great positive business relationship among themselves. From the very beginning (engagement photo session) to the very end, Moxie was not just professional, and not just passionate about doing an amazing job, but most importantly they were patient. When it comes to photos / videos my wife changes her mind like a girl changes clothes, or however the song goes. And I was waiting for that moment where they'd say, "Ok seriously, you guys are crazy, make up your mind!" They were probably thinking that, but they never said it lol. This is not saying I'm encouraging people to take advantage of their time, please be reasonable and prepared and organized as best as you can. We live in San Francisco and had our wedding in Las Vegas, so already our wedding was a bit difficult. Even though we were out of state, Lisa & Jamison did an amazing job working with us and our schedule to help us get our engagement photos and wedding together. My Bachelors Degree is in Photography, so I knew finding a photographer I could trust to capture my wedding day could be challenging. When I saw Moxie Studio's portfolio of work and then finally met Lisa in person, it was a no brainer. Moxie Studio produces imagery that is unrivaled in their pricing bracket. We had a somewhat unique wedding theme (Harry Potter) and Lisa and Jamison totally embraced it! For our Engagement Session (included in their packages), they found the perfect spot for us to shoot. Even when there were minor hiccups (my fiancé and I forgot to bring our wands, the fog machine didn't work, some crazy ants, etc.) Lisa and Jamison were great at improvising. We used the resources we had - like having Jamison kick up dirt to look like creepy "fog". The resulting images were absolutely stunning! The Engagement Session is a great time to get to know the way Lisa and Jamison operate. Their laid back and easy-going nature was a perfect fit for us. On our wedding day, Lisa and Jamison were there early and ready! They were very mindful of our Harry Potter theme - taking care to capture all of our theme details. They worked extremely well with our bridal party along with our family and friends. They made the day effortless - and that's exactly what a bride needs on that day! The wedding photos took about a month to finish (which is pretty normal - if a photographer has a turnaround time of just a few days, you have to wonder how long they spent refining your photos). The wedding images turned out AMAZING. Lisa and Jamison's retouching is subtle and perfect. They don't overdo it. We couldn't get enough compliments about all of our Moxie Studio photos and I already have people asking me for their number! If I had any other bits of advice to give a prospective client who is on the fence about hiring Moxie, I'd say: DO IT. This is your wedding day. You are most likely spending thousands of dollars on this event that will only last a few hours. Your wedding photos will be the relics of that day, your first heirlooms to pass down to your children. You want your imagery to be great. I've heard countless times from other newlyweds that one of their biggest regrets is underestimating the importance of finding a quality photographer - often regretting that they based their decision merely on price. I was happy that she had time to fit us in. Honestly the best choice and probably one of the best parts of our wedding. I spent a lot of time researching photographers and videographers because I knew that would be most important to us as far as our vendors go. I've been meaning to get this review done sooner, but better late than never! Lisa shot our wedding in April 2015 and an engagement session earlier in the year. We were so thrilled with both sets of photos. Lisa is an easy-going, down-to-earth, and genuine person who takes her job seriously. We researched and interviewed A LOT of photographers in Las Vegas, and none compared to Moxie. I LOVE, LOVE, Moxie Studio! They were part of our wedding process from start to finish. We had them do our engagement photos, our wedding, and they were also our cinematographers. Both Lisa and James met with us prior to each photo shoot to discuss ideas, details, and any concerns that we may have had. I loved how organized they were and that definitely made me feel at ease. One less thing for me to worry about! They made sure not a single detail was missed on our special day. Our photos (both engagement and wedding day) are beautiful. I believe Jamison and Lisa are a married couple who work together. Either way Jamison was very nice, answered all my questions and seemed interested in hearing about my special day. I was at the PWG event today with some friends and I got the change to meet a lot of photographers. Jamison was definitely one of nicest people there. Easy to talk to and I thought it was cool, their husband wife duo team. Jamison would photograph the groom and his groomsman and Lisa would focus on all the ladies. Loved the idea. read more
