Moy Kong Express is a surprisingly great find. I've noticed several poor reviews, which surprised me, because my family is very picky about our Chinese food. The building is nothing to write home about, and may leave a "hole in the wall" impression, but the quality of food is astounding for the price. Moy Kong Express also is very quick... usually less than 15 minutes for an order serving 7 people. That's impressive. I don't think you can go wrong by eating here. Great value. Good food. I once loved this place. It was shut down for a few months and we decided to get food from there yesterday. I have to say, I was very disappointed. We ordered the Almond Boneless Chicken (it was dry) and the Cashew Chicken. When I got home with the food it was very bland and there wasn't even one Cashew in my chicken!! What is Cashew Chicken without the Cashews?? I wonder if there are new owners? Also, I got the add on Egg Drop soup and the top wasn't on all the way and half of it spilled in the bag. We don't have any more Chinese Restaurants in Fenton so I guess no more Chinese food for me. Makes me very sad. read more

Hands down my favorite Chinese food restaurant. I grew up in the area but have since moved away. I have been a customer here for years and always return whenever I get the chance. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite dish. They put the sauce on the chicken instead of on the side, which is key. The sauce is this cool pink color with a vinegary tang but ends with a sweet flavor. The fried rice and egg rolls are so delicious! It tastes homemade and is different than a lot of the chain or generic Chinese places. The staff has been the same for as long as I can remember. They care about what they do and are very prompt. Not the Moy King of my youth. When moving back to the area I was pleased that I would have a solid Chinese restaurant to visit. Sadly something has happened here. IDK if it's different owners or what but the food seems like it has been attacked by a flavor vampire. All the grease of decent Chinese but not flavor. We've eaten at Moy Kong regularly over the last decade, and it's one of our favorite spots for a quick, cheap meal out. The other reviewers who have noted the restaurant's shabby appearance are definitely right. That said, I don't think the place is dirty so much as old and dingy (the bathrooms are particularly bad). I disagree with the reviewers who said that the staff is unfriendly, however; more than anything, I think they are concerned about efficiency. We've never thought the staff were rude. I usually order my meals with double fried rice and no egg roll, and they've always accommodated this request, which can't be said for all Chinese places. My favorite dishes here are the chicken and broccoli and the sesame chicken. I detest it when the sauce in sesame chicken is too sweet, but the sauce they use here is more savory, and wonderful. My husband's favorite dish is the orange chicken, which is perfectly sweet and spicy. He's also a big fan of their shrimp fried rice. We also like the wonton soup here. One problem, though, is that the food comes so fast you rarely have time to eat all of your soup first! There was a point when ownership changed a couple of years ago that the food was suddenly pretty bad, especially the fried rice, but they recovered and fortunately it's back to being good. We like Moy Kong. We're happy with the taste and quality of the food as well as the prices, and we'll definitely continue to eat here. read more

First time ordering here. Got the General Chicken and Gong Bo Beef combinations. Unfortunately under par. Chicken lacked sauce although the sauce was tasty, it wasn't spicy as the menu noted. Overbreaded Chicken. Fried rice lacked flavor and veg. Egg roll was one of the worst I ever had- dry, and so much egg wrap ratio to the lacking bean sprout filling (which was dry and sprouts were not fresh). Gong bo lacked Beef, tasty sauce but again, not spicy. Good selection of veg in this dish. Egg drop soup wasn't hot and lacked flavor. Crunchy noodles for soup were stale. Crab cheese appetizer could have been hotter and sauce is standard sweet red sauce. Overall, edible but not appetizing. read more

Used to be our favorite place for Sweet and Sour chicken and egg roll's, but since they changed hands when Betty and Jimmy retired the food has gone terribilly down hill. We just ordered S/C and egg rolls last week and threw it out. It was dry and rubbery and the egg rolls taste like bad frozen food. So sad to see the food go down hill from what it used to be. Tasted like old bad oil was used also. And the staff is always non friendly especially the son who act's as if he could careless about anyone and anything. The food is very similar to the previous owners but here it ends. The place is shabby looking and the owner and staff are very unfriendly. One did not feel comfortable eating in here but iI had to and I didn't enjoy it. They hadn't done any upgrading or repairs to the place and it is falling apart. I miss the old owners a lot. Wow. After reading the prior reviews, I'm beginning to think I went to a completely different restaurant. This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The egg roll was cold and soggy. The General Tso chicken was extremely bland. The fried rice wasn't technically even fried rice. More like white rice with some soy sauce on it. The restaurant itself was pretty dingy inside.
