They killed our lawn multiple times and every time charged a fortune to fix their own mistake only to kill it again. After fighting with them after the third time they turned our green grass brown they finally admitted their mistake but only refunded the last treatment and offered one aeration but we had to pay for the seed. That was it for us. Their treatment will not get you the desired results you want, but it will fill their bank account. Then when you terminate your contract they will continuously call and harass you to come back. NO WAY! They are the most poorly run company and they have no clue how to treat a lawn. My wife and just had a brand new heating system put in by Matt, Mike and Steve and everything was done exactly the way it was sold and then some. These guys were right on time and worked until the job was done. They were very neat, courteous and very informative. All three wore their masks and shoe covers even though they also put down floor covers. At the end of a long day working nonstop they also took the time to show me all the settings on the new thermostat. Can't say enough good things about these guys! Use extreme caution when using Moyer Indoor/Outdoor. The technician that came out said that we would need a new compressor on a 6 year old unit that would run us approx $3200 and then billed me almost $300 to come out even though the agreed upon charge was $89 to diagnose the problem. After some back and forth with Moyer and only when my husband had to step in did the charge go down to the agreed upon $89. We then got a 2nd opinion by a competitor (who was much more professional) who correctly diagnosed our issue and only costed us $170 TOTAL even with diagnosing the issue for us the second time. Our unit has been running great ever since. Another billing issue with Moyer....I had paid Moyer on the date of service for the $89 but yet months later I get a statement in the mail that I had not paid and that I was over 30 days late with payment. Called the next date and provided my card a SECOND time to Moyer. Please use extreme caution when using this vendor - so many better options out there. read more

I have used Moyer Indoor-Outdoor for my landscape, HVAC, pest control and plumbing needs for over 10 years. I proudly support local businesses even if it may cost a few more dollars. However, after my last two HVAC experiences with Moyer, I am extremely disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with their lack of professionalism, transparency and blatant price gouging. In November 2021, a Moyer technician (who will remain nameless for now), came to my home after my 7 yr old, $12,000, Lennox system that Moyer installed, threw a trouble code shutting down my gas furnace in the winter. Usually I am present and will be at home for any services but this time, I was tied up at work so my wife met with the Moyer tech. I was available by text, so I told my wife to text me before committing to anything so she didn't feel intimidated or pressured. Within 10 minutes of the tech's arrival, I received a text from my wife that the thermostat needed replacement at a cost of $1200. I asked what the diagnosis was and the part number of the thermostat, as that seemed to be a pretty quick and expensive conclusion. No response. Next update from my wife was the thermostat was fine and the tech was now recommending a new 20' thermostat wire be run at a cost of $350. I confirmed several times with my wife just to make sure I understood this correctly...we initially are told within minutes we needed a $1200 thermostat, now we no longer needed the $1200 thermostat, but instead a $350 thermostat wire? Still no explanation or diagnosis of what the problem was. I already had a pic of my thermostat with the trouble code displayed my son sent me that any Google search would provide some info/insight. I text my wife to let her know that I didn't feel comfortable authorizing anything based on what I felt was an obvious, unscrupulous, money grab and pressure sales pitch, so make me the bad guy and let the Moyer tech know I wasn't comfortable proceeding. A system reset was performed and the furnace has been trouble free since. Today, 5/13/22, I turn on my air conditioning, no cold air blowing. Call Moyer Indoor, leery now thanks to my prior experience, but mainly because the Lennox system was still covered under the initial parts warranty. The same Moyer technician responded. I escort the tech to the basement, explain the issue and make some small talk. The tech discovers my coil had begun to freeze over, an indication that I was possibly running low on refrigerant. He also discovers that dye had already been introduced into the refrigerant and told me my coil was leaking as evidenced by the glowing dye around the coil and in the condensate pipe. Tech explained I was lucky as the coil would be covered under warranty, however labor and the cost of the refrigerant would not be. Told me I would be looking at over $2000 for the repair. Didn't explain part cost or labor hours, just threw out a number. Sounded like another $1200 thermostat. I explained that since the coil failed, a covered part, which caused the refrigerant to escape, I should not be responsible for the recharge. "Not my policy, call the office." I ask the tech for his boss to discuss, while he recalculates his repair price. I'm provided two names, call office and told one gentleman is on phone currently, I assume w/ tech who went out to his van. I leave info for a callback, never received. Tech returns, tells me his "bottom line price" is now $1450 for the repair, yet still charging me $350 for for up to 3 lbs 410A refrigerant. Tells me both his bosses are "gone for the weekend," yet one of them had just been on their office phone? I asked the tech to leave. Shame, this company was very different a few years ago and what made them special has been stripped away by how their techs operate in the field which reflects poorly on the Moyer name. Had very good outcome with Moyer Indoor Outdoor for a plumbing problem. Had the big name plumbers from Doylestown in here, none of them got it right, or didn't want to. Moyer sent us this guy who stayed until he got it right. Every other plumber except the Moyer guy had their own ideas about how to fix it, and none of them were right. Moyer nailed it. I have been using this company for YEARS for a variety of needs. I have always been VERY happy with them. Recently I purchased a garbage disposal from them and had it installed. They left me a postcard to fill out to register it with the company who made it. BUT...they didn't leave me the serial number and I can't get under the sink to get it. So I called. They checked and called me back and said they don't have it. They offered to send someone to get it for me but said, several times, "when you buy a TV they don't give you the serial number, you have to get it yourself." Slightly different, don't you think? I don't understand how these guys stay in business. About two months ago I asked them to come treat my place for lanterflies. A guy came out and said he had the wrong truck to do the service. He said they'll contact me in a day or two. A week later I called back and they said they'd be out in a couple days. Nothing. I called back several times and they finally said they already did the service and gave me the wrong address. Long story short I must have spoken with them ten times. We were told they would bill us monthly for the service contract, which is the only reason we signed up for it, because we didn't have to pay all of it up front. We received a bill in the mail for the whole amount and my husband called them several times and gave them the name of the girl who sold us the service contract and told them we were supposed to be billed monthly. They said that's is not how our plan was set up and we have to pay it all in full or it will be sent to collections! This is the last time I will ever use them!! Worst customer service experience from "supervisor" as well as plumber. I have used this company in the past without issue, but this time was so bad I will never use them again. It took 3 weeks to get a part for the sink for our place of business. I had to call twice to request updates on our part and when our sink would be fixed. Finally, I was transferred to a supervisor who said she would "take responsibility" but never apologized. They sent a service man over to finally fix, and he was rude and said "none of this is my fault". I'm glad their business is so busy they can afford give poor customer service and be unprofessional. I have been using Moyer for home heating oil delivery for roughly two years. I was surprised to find my bill for the last delivery to be about the same as last year when oil was a dollar a gallon more. The price I paid was 3.29/gallon while other local firms are selling for 2.41/gallon. I paid an additional $189. Shame on me for not checking before hand and shame on Moyer for price gouging. I must say after taking my dog to the vet today I'm not sure I would use their services again. I signed up for treatment of getting rid of Spotted Lantern Flys which I had heard of from a friend on Facebook. Didn't know much about them, but never less didn't want to see my trees die that had them. I called Moyer About service and they quoted me for 3 treatments. 1. To kill them 2. To put some oil or something to kill possible larva 3. To spray I thought in the Spring they said for I don't remember. I have a fenced in yard that my dogs have access to while we are home (3 dogs - 6 foot vinyl fence with closed gates on both sides. Out of the 3 times they came...1st time I spoke to spoke one on the phone and they came over without ringing the doorbell or knocking and left a bill. Didn't even know they had come. 2nd time a auto message on the Voicemail on my cell. Gentleman came to door and left his bill. 3rd time no message, but did have a missed call that turns out to be them. Knew they were when the dogs were going nuts because they saw the truck out the front window. No one came to the door. I ran and closed the back door before the dogs ran out, because he was already spraying because he let himself in like the first visit. I was on the way out so I told the kids to make sure the gate was closed behind him since he just left a bill again. I believe that was on Thursday...by Saturday night dog was acting weird. In the middle of the night he was twitching and drooling everywhere. He was acting weird on Sunday so Monday I left early from work to take him to the vet. Doctor says his mouth had ulcers all over and said he believed they were caused by chemicals. I then remembered the tree service spraying on Thursday...he said that may have caused it please find out what chemical they sprayed. So I called and they said it was just a fertilizer. So I looked up what they said they sprayed and this is what it says. Called Tuesday at 7:30 am to ask where they were, was told (for the first time) that it was actually a "Window" and that the technician would be here sometime between 7 & 10 am. I called them back AGAIN at 10:05, was told "Oh, we have you down for today, but there's no time listed. Let me call you back". Someone else called 5 minutes later, very snippy, and very rudely said "We have no technicians in your area today," like I was just calling for the first time and hadn't booked this appointment days previously, and confirmed it 3 times!!! There was a different person on the phone each time, and no one knew what the other one was doing. Very unprofessional, and very rude! I stayed home from work for this! A technician named Crystal came out today and was incredibly thorough with her inspection, including crawling into my basement crawl space! She took her time inside and out and showed me exactly where and how the ants were coming in. She was very knowledgeable and seemed to actually enjoy her work! They treat their workers like absolute crap. What my boyfriend applied for is completely opposite compared to what he actually ended up doing on the job; applied for lawn care/landscaping, and they had him spraying trees with pesticides instead, with no mask or respirator. The guy who trained him did not really put any effort into training him, and would get angry over small mistakes. So he quit and found another job, and they would not send him his paycheck for his few days of work, said they sent it but I highly doubt it. Payroll lady (owner of the company's daughter, no less) would even turn down his calls when she recognized the number. He ended up going to pick it up himself after almost a month at his NEW job, and she gave him a massive attitude when he went in and is lucky that I wasn't there with him because I would've absolutely lost my mind. I have used Moyer for several years to fertilize my lawn. Their service has never been great but this year is the worst. I always prepay the entire season. This year (2013) they have only applied two treatments as of Aug 3rd (out of 8), once the first week of February (just before it SNOWED) and once the first week of March. I haven't seen them in 5 months! Although they haven't treated my lawn they did come out and leave a quote for shrub bug and disease control followed by about 20 follow-up sales calls! I was so frustrated by my transaction. I scheduled an inspection three weeks in advance. They said they would give me a time the day before. No call..,,so I called them because I needed to know the time. No record if me. I was on the phone for an annoying 30 minutes going through possible misspellings etc. I think they just rescheduled me. It was supposed to be between 2 and 5. They called at 1:00 to say they would be there at 1:30. I was leaving work early so this was not enough time for me to get there. Then $350 for 45 minutes of looking at the pool and saying it looked fine. (It was an inspection). I went into the office to pay a few weeks later. After 10 minutes of people looking confused, They said they couldn't process the payment at that time but would take my information. Two weeks later, I get a call that I owe finance charges for non payment. Luckily, when I explained what happened , they said this happened to others, so it wasn't a surprise. I have used them for lawn care for two years and today I cancelled. This season I found the sales department to be relentless, actually coming out and inspecting for services I had not expressed an interest in. They called several times also. I expect them to make agreed upon applications that are in the best interest of me and my lawn. I found they wanted to apply seed on ground that had no rain for weeks; the birds will eat the seed. I had to call and cancel. The core aereation was about half the holes the previous company did. When the ground was covered with a couple of inches of leaves, they applied fertilizer saying it will roll off. They came at 8 am before I was dressed and I mentioned it when I called about the fertilization to customer service, Donna, who was rude. This week they came at 7am for their guaranteed repeat application. I saw no activity on my lawn, only the truck. On one occasion last year the technician left an invoice in plastic in the door that reeked of gasoline oder and fumes. I had to take it outside to a garbage bin and I called about that. Lawn care is a luxury and I don't want to deal with a company that increasingly is exasperating. read more
