It wasn't until I was on my way home that I realized I forgot to remind them about the diverter. Nortex Painting We…read morehired Nortex Painting to paint our kitchen cabinets for $4,000. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were originally told the cabinet doors would be painted in the garage. Later we were told there was not enough room -- even though we provided the same amount of space inside the kitchen. This change was never clearly explained. The primer used was extremely strong and toxic. The fumes were so intense that our eyes watered and we had difficulty breathing. We were never advised to ventilate the home properly or consider staying elsewhere during this stage of the project. We were also told the cabinets would be thoroughly washed and prepped before painting. That did not appear to happen. Additionally, the cabinet doors were hung from the top during painting, which left visible punch holes. They should have been hung from the bottom to avoid damage. After the job was completed, we requested the owner come inspect the work. His response to our concerns was that "there was only one person who was ever perfect," which did not address the issues we raised. Communication was also difficult, as the workers did not speak English and we were unable to discuss concerns directly during the project. Overall, we expected a professional, properly prepped cabinet job for $4,000 and did not feel the quality matched the price.

Excellent work.  Plan to contact them again for another project.  After much research, it was…read morenarrowed down to 3 companies and received quotes from each.  The quotes were within $100 of each other, so that was not a deciding factor.  With each, we walked through every room and pointed out work to be done to include patch, repair and paint.  Our decision was made when Jason from NorTex really listened to what WE wanted done instead of dwelling on the way they usually handle it. One separation and crack was deep and long, and we wanted to replace the sheetrock instead of patching the crack.  Jason said yes and spoke with knowledge about how it would be done and the expertise his crew had in blending the new material invisibly into the wall, especially one skilled worker who could spray on the texture to match.  And it does.  Thomas did a beautiful job.  Jason also recommended a paint with a very low matte finish to blend in with our existing.  Some of the newer paints, even classified as matte, have more of a sheen which would reflect the light in a way that was different from our other paints.  He came by each day to check on the job and was easy to reach, responding quickly.  When he wasn't here, we could communicate effectively in English with the group leader, Thomas.  Finally, they exhibited respect for our property and happily moved furniture and other items, and cleaned up everything when they left.  Would recommend them highly.

His estimate was based mostly on labor and basic materials (he brought paint brushes, buckets and coverings). I supplied the paint and tape. The final paint-job was really good (clean lines, attention to detail around wood and moldings, even coats) and he worked all day to get it done. When he left the paint was drying so the tape was still up. We had to take tape down ourselves the next day, but not a big deal. Most importantly, he was gracious and kind throughout--even when we had to do some last minute cleaning up on high recesses. Given his rates and quality of work, he definitely earned the 5 stars. I will absolutely call him for our next job.

Ultimately, we decided together that the ceiling and the walls should all be repainted. Arrangements were made for Wilfredo and his team to come by around 6 the following evening to get started. When they were an hour late, I wasn't surprised. I know how traffic in DFW can be and I was eager to have their professional help. Upon arriving at my home, Wilfredo nor his team, who trickled in little by little over the next few hours, wore masks without our asking. Wilfredo gave me a laundry list of items his team would need to begin work, which I was to leave to get for him. He announced that he would go home and take a shower then return to begin the project. He returned and one of his team members blue-taped and put plastic over all my cabinets and paper over the floors in preparation for the repairs and painting that was to begin the next morning. The next day, I waited for a team member to arrive. When it got close to lunch time, I spoke with Wilfredo who told me that his team member wouldn't be able to come until that evening. Once he did arrive, he set to work repairing cracks and did a nice job only he didn't visit every room and repair every crack. He told me that he was leaving for dinner and would return but he did not come back. The following day, someone was to come and paint and I planned to ask for the forgotten cracks to be repaired. I was, again, told how the arranged team member wouldn't be by at the agreed upon time. We settled on the next day. By this point, I've had plastic and paper all over the place but I'm trying to be patient. The following day, Wilfredo again needed to cancel on the painting and my spouse and I decided that it was time to cut ties with this company and just finish the rest ourselves. When I told Wilfredo that we would not need any additional visits, he told me to "ask my husband for the final word" which truly pissed me off. I am the one who was making all the arrangements from start to finish with this company. For him to insinuate that I needed a man's permission to call off services was unprofessional and ignorant. He called and texted several more times to get me to reconsider. I'd have painted the entire interior of my home with a q-tip before I let him back through my doorway. Unprepared. Unprofessional. Unreliable.
