    Banh Mi inspired sandwich.
    Susan W.

Great place for a tasty sandwich. Seems like they change their menu fairly often. Noticed that the sandwich I had a few months ago was no longer there. The space itself is fairly small, but it doesn't seem busy during the lunch hour on weekends. I got a Tuscan sandwich the other day, which was the only vegetarian option I saw in terms of sandwichs. It was tasty but there was a thick slice of undercooked sweet potato in the sandwich, which wasn't too impressive. Would recommend if you're looking for a good sandwich in a casual joint, with a ton of variety.

    Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese

After seeing a picture of Kosmos' Crispy Chicken Panini, I immediately went there the next day. The pictures do not do this place justice. The food, service and overall atmosphere of Kosmos is absolutely amazing. If you are in London, this is one of the restaurants that you MUST try. Food - 5/5: i went with my girlfriend and two other friends and we ordered the Kentucky Panini, Crispy Chicken Panini, Fish Tacos and Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese Panini (its listed under mac and cheese) and Mexi-Fries. Absolutely everything we had was amazing, and every ingredient in each order was carefully put, ensuring that you get a unique, palatable and mouthwatering taste. The chicken was bulging out of the buns, the pulled pork was perfectly cooked as it was not too sweet and saucy, the mac and cheese-pulled pork blend was a perfect combination, and the fish tacos had a very subtle and not-overtly-fishy taste. Service - 5/5: even though this restaurant was one of those operated like a fast-food restaurant where you order then you have the option of sitting down, excellent service was still provided. The staff would check up on us to make sure everything was going well, and they were also very friendly. This was one of the rare time where I actually WISH i could've tipped the staff. Price - 4/5: the Crispy Chicken was $10 and the Kentucky was $9.5, this was including tax. So even before tax, it would be around $8-9 for a panini, which is somewhat expensive. However, it is well worth what you are getting. Overall Kosmos is an amazing restaurant that I will definitely keep on going to. Friendly staff, amazing food and fair prices. It is a must try!

Turkey Brie panini with pickle chips - perfect

Having walked by this place at least 6 times a week, I am a bit surprised at myself for taking to long to try it out. The lunch hour rush is for real, and sometimes you can find people waiting out the door for this place. It's a small like venue, seating for about 20 people inside. Having been here twice, I tried a wrap and a paninin, both perfect, both suspiciously filling. I got the turkey and brie panini the first time, and it was perfect. The bread so crispy on the outside, soft warm and chewy in the inside. The filling was overflowing with goodness. You will never feel like you have overpaid, that's for certain! My husband got the grilled cheese mac and cheese sandwich and it was amazing! The mac and cheese was actually seasoned, so it wasn't just some blandish noodles in the middle. It was perfect. My husband will forever be getting this sandwich. He also praised whatever seasoning they put on the fries. The second time I came, I got the richmond wrap. It looks like a normal wrap but beware, they put some crazy filling magic in it that makes you instantly full from eating just half of it. I went with two others with pretty strong appetites and both of them weren't hungry for the whole day from eating one sandwich. At about 9-10 dollars a sandwich, totally worth it. The only cons are that the food takes a while to come out (totally worth the wait) and that my pickle chips were perfect the first time but the second time, they were a bit dry. The second visits pickle chips was what made this a four star instead of the 5, since I typically like my pickle chips to be nice and moist in the inside. Overall, highly recommend this place

I had a Cajun Chicken chicken sandwich with avocado substituted in for the bacon-onion jam. It was a superb panini. The grilled chicken cutlet was perfect. It wasn't dry and was seasoned perfectly. Veggies were standard but paired well with the sandwich. The sauce used was excellent, and I used some of the panini bread to lap up the aioli that escaped from the sandwich. The staff were friendly and helpful and told me that I could sub out one part for something else, and really made a great recommendation with the avocado. One of the staff even followed up with me and how the sandwich was which I appreciated. The restaurant has an modern unassuming feel to the place with some window seating and group tables. I'm a fan.

One word: tzatziki. The tzatziki on their Greek fries is AMAZING! If I could order a cup of it, I would. So perfect. That whole dish was top shelf. To note: the "combo" size is still very large. The Richmond wrap was well balanced in its fillings. Nicely seasoned chicken and a good mix of all the veggies and sauce. I would get it again. Prior to going, I knew the wait for food can be long so we made sure to arrive before the "lunch rush." However I think it took an extra long time and started to wonder if they forgot about us. They didn't, but there are clearly numerous smart people who phone ahead so I recommend that.

    Fish tacos 7.5/10
    Janice W.

Foods you have to try: 1. Kosmo's Pulled Pork Panini (9/10) 2. Crispy Chicken Sandwich (8.5/10) 3. Fish Tacos (7.5/10) 4. Mexi Fries (8/10) This place is great! Portions are huge, the staff are super friendly and it's good value. Everything was under $12 and again, portions are huge (except for the fish tacos, maybe those won't fill you but the for sure the burgers will). The mexi fries full size is $6 and side is $4 so if you can eat a lot get the full size. The place definitely gets very busy and it's not a large place so if you're in a group bigger than 4, don't plan to sit down. . . . . . . Thanks to my yelper friend Ernie for recommending this place, it was a great find.

    Fish tacos (on Tuesdays)
    Caitlin H.

After seeing their fried chicken sandwich on the front page of Reddit I knew I had to try it for myself! The chicken came out very fresh and crispy and had an amazing sauce that added a kick. I don't think it lived up to its hype though and is a bit on the pricey side for $10. I also wanted to try the fish tacos but they only serve that on Tuesdays. One of the guys behind the counter overheard and said he could put in a special request to have it made for me which was super nice of them to do. The tacos were also accompanied by a tasty sauce and is a perfect appetizer to share. Overall, a healthy place to grab a bite with friends :)

    Pulled pork macaroni Panini
    James T.

Came here for the first time today and the food was delicious! I had the pulled pork macaroni Panini with a side of the Greek fries and it was absolutely refreshing. The tzatziki with the chopped cucumbers/feta/tomatoes (in the Fries of course) complemented the pulled pork macaroni sandwich. The price is fair and the portions are filling. Will definitely be returning to try the other menu options!

The "Louisiana" was delicious! I've also tried the souvlaki, it was average... I recommend ordering ahead of time or you can expect a 40 minute wait.

    Jacqueline L.

I come here all the time, amazing food at such a reasonable price and the service is so personal it can't be beat! Their Mac n cheese grilled cheese and veggie panini safe some of my favourites and I always get them with a side of pickle chips!!!

    The Greek fries are huge!

When we had arrived to the tearoom on a Friday afternoon at 12:00 pm, our table was set and ready for us. I was given a very small menu with the bagged tea selections; I had settled on cherry, which was delicious with some sugar. The teapot came with a tea cozy which I thought was cute however, all of the plates and teacups were plain white, with little doilies on the bottom of the plates. The tables were wooden, and the room was large however, quite old, with creaky floors. I was first given the sandwiches and other savories; the sandwiches were canned salmon and egg salad; there was no smoked salmon, or cucumber with cream cheese. There were also wraps with ham and turkey, along with three small quiches and a sausage roll (which was delicious). The next order was a dish with one raisin scone cut in half, with whip cream and a few strawberries on the top. There were no side dishes of clotted cream and jam, which was disappointing. The desserts were abundant, and all were delicious however, they weren't authentic British desserts. The service was wonderful though, as our server came to greet us often, making sure that we were taken care of. The room itself has many teapots, with teapots even adorning the beams of the ceiling. Overall though, I wasn't impressed with the high tea, as I found that there were many elements missing, and it wasn't what I expected it to be when high tea was mentioned. I was told that the main menu items were delicious so, I may try that the next time I come around.

Staff are always…read morefriendly and welcoming - but its the sandwiches that really keep me coming back every time I'm in Stratford. The newest location is right by the river - with lots of public parking across the street. Beautiful old building and a nicer overall decor than the previous spot. Still colourful - with cool drawings of their famous sandwiches on the walls. Lots on offer, but really, who am I kidding? "Mennonite sandwich, please" is what I said - and what you better say if you know what's good for ya. That delicious summer sausage, fresh corn relish with a subtle but delicious kick of spice. The cheddar - classic taste - nice slice - just how I like it. Definitely not processed cheese. The fresh country white bread - melt in your mouth but still with a crunchy brown crust. MMMMMMMMMennonites seem to have the secret of sandwich making down pat. This is the kind of sandwich that puts hair on your chest...What's that joke - why do Mennonite boys grow beards? Because they want to look just like their moms! Lol a bit off side maybe there - but my point is simple - a hearty, tasty sandwich - one of the best and most classic available in Ontario. Get out there and grab a few. The baking is also delicious!!

Fab! The best sandwiches in Stratford! At INCREDIBLE prices, too!!!…read more Check out the checklist-style takeout menu: http://www.yorkstreetkitchen.com/YSKSandwichmenu.pdf Most of my friends are huge fans of the Mennonite Sandwich. I enjoy the Othello (sans pesto, of course) but most often create-my-own. Last time I was there I had local goats cheese (swoon-inducing) on multigrain (OMG freshly-baked and so so so good) with alfalfa sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, lettuce, roasted sweet red peppers, honey mustard (made by local mennonites!) & mayo. I always add the "deli dills" - I'm pretty sure they're local mennonite too. Needless to say, PHENOMENAL. They also have THE MOST AMAZING 4-bean salad. Try it. Trust me. I don't even LIKE bean salad all that much... this one converted me. Really. GET IT. They lose a star because it's time to fix the service. It takes waaay too long to get your food, and that's true whether you eat in or order from the take-out window. Service is a bit better for breakfast, but still nothing to rave about. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes for your food. The kitchen & waitstaff are unfortunately more often than not visibly frazzled/stressed. I have been here for breakfast a bunch of times, as well as dinner once or twice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their jam - "moss berry" - never heard of it before or since! For dinner, I've had the Spinach, Marinated Mushroom, Red Onion and Goat Cheese Pizza ($6.50) as well as the Caramelized Broccoli, Red Onion and Ricotta Stuffed Pasta Shells baked in a our slow-cooked Tomato Sauce ($13.95). Both VERY yummy. Their breakfast burrito is legendary. I must recommend it as your first breakfast expedition at YSK. For meat-eaters, try the peameal bacon. LOCAL PORK FACTOIDS: A note on peameal bacon + Stratford: this is prime peameal bacon territory. If you don't make it to YSK, try to get to the Stratford Farmer's Market where you will find a chuckwagon of sorts vending DREAMY peameal bacon sandwiches. OMG. AMAZING. Perth County produces some of the best pork in the country. If you're passing through Shakespeare on the way to Stratford (or back - it's just east of Stratford), make a stop at "The Best Little Pork Shoppe", which is certainly NOT little. Check it out: http://www.porkshoppe.com/ Last interesting pork fact? The Annual Ontario Pork Congress happens in Stratford too. Just one more point in proof that Stratford is THE place to be eating pork. Which I don't, to clarify. I've been a veghead for 13 years now. But I have juicy childhood memories of Saturday mornings at the market with my Dad eating peameal bacon sandwiches with LOCAL bacon, LOCAL cheddar cheese, FRESHLY-CHURNED LOCAL butter on a FRESHLY-BAKED kaiser bun. FOR REAL. Back to TSK breakfast. I've also had the French Toast with local maple syrup and some sort of homemade apple-pie-filling-type side (INCREDIBLE) and the H.M.S. Pinafore Breakfast Sandwich (toasted bagel with that gorgeous local goat cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, onion & lettuce) is worth a try too!
