Ok. I have a transmission issue…read more Brought it in to determine the root-cause. They found an old (not cleared) thermostat problem that I fixed a year ago. It didn't totally close, thus not allowing the Cat o get up to temperature quickly enough. I replaced for $25 and 45 minutes, easy. Check-engine light disappeared. But obviously the code locked in. And also they said I needed a full replacement transmission. Which I don't deny may be required. , sorta. I am 71 years old, done professional car work since 17. The ONLY reason I am not doing this myself is age. But that said, before I would tear down anything I would already know what component is bad. A valve, cam sensor, etc. My symptoms are of a valve-body stuck valve, causing the clutch(s) to not fully engage. Thus I wanted a more concise explanation for why I should give them $5,000 - $6,000 to replace the entire Xmission. I really should have had a talk with the trained mechanic that could go into depth about the detailed reason it is giving me problems. But I got the worker at the register explaining the estimate to me. I have 100% confidence she has ZERO true mechanical knowledge/training past what to say. She should have called the Tech to talk to me. Had that happened I would have set an appointment to have it replaced. But given the weak thermostat ($330) ghost diag, I had zero confidence about the rest of their work. Reminds me of "give a kid a hammer and everything looks like a nail".

*PLEASE DON'T GO HERE* We took our F-150 to AutoPro Alcoa…read moreon Gill St in March 2025 for warranty repair on a turbo and came out having to tow it to a Ford dealer and needing a new engine! AutoPro had the truck over a month (had to return twice) and following the final pick up, fluid drained everywhere and the engine locked up on the side of the road so we towed it to Ford. Ford claims per the attached invoice this was due to faulty install of the turbo and provided many photos for documentation. AutoPro initially tried to make it right by putting in a new engine and the general manager promised verbally as well as in writing to reimburse our rental car expenses incurred as a result of this mess. Unfortunately, per the attached email chain from AutoPro's general manager, they are now refusing to reimburse our rental car expenses. We are also out another $4,500 as that's what it took Ford to get the vehicle fixed following the new engine install. Shame on AutoPro! They left my family out to dry so we're having to sue following an already 6 months of disruption in our lives! Also, these bullies keep trying to get my reviews taken down but look at the evidence for yourself. The truth prevails. This place sucks.

Told me that no mechanic was going to do that for me for an 05 Cadillac Deville. So they "repaired" it. Guess what?! It wasn't fixed! In fact, I had to bring it back the same day I picked it up after paying $400 dollars to have a 7 inch piece of hose spliced on. THEN, they quoted me $3500 (taxes included) and I said fine. I didn't have the money then so I was going to have to make payments on it and unfortunately because of the way things have been going in America right now. I just haven't been able to get my money right. So it took some time to get it paid for and they told me they would not start the work until they received full payment. My car has been sitting at that shop for a year and I had been in periodic contact with him and had made a couple payments here and there to the total of $600. The last time that I came in to make a payment, the amount had changed from the agreed $3500 to it now being $4800. they must've had an owner change since the time that I had dropped it off because the original owner had told me that there were no storage fees. I finally decided that I was just going to come pick my car up and the guy that I spoke with on the phone named Rick was very disrespectful. In fact when I went to pick up my car, my car was left on top of a pile of gravel, my tires were deep in the gravel probably about 2 to 3 inches. I have pictures of the entire lot comparing how all the other vehicles were parked to how mine was left to be picked up they will be being posted on the local community Pages. your father would be ashamed, Rick.
