This place is a hidden gem!! So so good! We drove by this place on our way to a soccer tournament, it caught our attention so stopped by after our game.. and oh em gee , did not disappoint! Everything we got was so good! Great service! Clean!! And their Merch is super cute! We enjoyed it so much , we started recommending to the rest of the team's parents. And also went back the following day before we headed back home for a long drive!

Camarones a la Diabla y un clamato campechano. Delicioso muy recomendado. This dish was tasty and delicious place was super clean

I called Mr. Clamato to place a large order (around $180 worth of food). The girl who answered the phone put me on hold, which I completely understood -- I figured they were busy, so I waited patiently. After being on hold for over 15 minutes, I finally decided to hang up and drive to the restaurant, assuming they were slammed. When I arrived, I was surprised to see only three tables occupied -- it wasn't busy at all. I approached the cashier, who turned out to be the same person that had answered the phone. I politely mentioned that I had called earlier but was left on hold for a long time. Her response shocked me. She very rudely said she was busy and then followed with, "So are you going to order or not?" After that kind of attitude, I almost walked out. I still placed my order because I know the owner is a good person and likely has no idea that this kind of customer service is happening under his watch. Her tone and behavior were completely unprofessional and disrespectful -- even my husband was taken aback and suggested we go somewhere else. This was disappointing, especially since I wanted to support a local business. I hope management addresses this issue because no customer should be treated that way.

Super cute place in Coachella, went by yesterday, it's hot so we've been craving cold & seafood! The food was so good! Tasty! The Aguachile was great too! Just spicy! They can either take your order or you can sit & someone can take your order, we did the first, much faster.. Definitely going back to taste more, we couldn't fit any more in...

Went to Mr. Clamato in Coachella on a busy Friday evening (9/5/25) to eat sea food. The food was very spicy and tasty. There was only 1 waitress serving everybody and only 1 cook in the kitchen. We noticed the waitress disappeared and the cook started bringing the food and drinks to the tables. Some people who were waiting for service began to leave. When the waitress came back, we found out that she was working the take out window, making food deliveries and waitressing at the same time! The waitress and the cook were working as fast as they could to serve everybody, they looked exhausted. The owner overworking the employees like this is awful and shameful. I will probably not go again and I would not recommend that you go on a busy night, you might not get served at all.

This was a cool spot! A michelada was in order and this was in our route! Very quick and attentive service and the manager even stopped at the table to chat and ask about us. The michelada was very good. The shrimp tacos were kind of spicy but still tasted good! I should have removed the hidden jalapeños since I'm such a gringa. Cool place! Loved the bathroom decor too.

Visiting the area and found this place on Uber Eats. We ordered the shrimps tacos came with cheese, pickle onions, cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle sauce. Amazing !!! Ordered the shrimp ceviche had a little spice to it but wow !!! Very impressed by the quality and the taste.

I've been coming here for a while now for the micheladas I thought they good however i haven't tried the food so i haven't left a review. However my most recent visit i experienced Horrible service. We initially were going to order outside through the window, rang the doorbell no one came so we decided to go inside. We ordered two large micheladas. And an oyster shot. She brought us smaller cups, I noticed and asked for our correct size after she realized her mistake. She took our cups to the back and simply poured the 16oz size drink into the larger cups and brought it back to us. I saw her do it. We poured our beers and realized the obvious large gap. I commented to her about it asking for more Clamato. She said if I wanted more I had to pay extra? Like didn't I just pay extra to get a large? Or did I pay for the extra empty space in my cup. I was so confused because I never had this problem before when I told her that she simply stared at me. I wish I simply asked for a refund. It wasn't that good I think because it was lacking the proper amount of Clamato. So disappointed with this visit Never going back

The menu offers a variety of fish options to cater to different preferences. Came here because my fiancé loves ceviche. I wanted aguachiles but felt like it'd be a lot so the Tostada de Maviri was the way to go. Now, I understand that some places charge for bottled water, but was unaware that they didn't serve complimentary tap water. Despite this hiccup, I still enjoyed the food and will go again. - 1 Taco Capiado de Pescado - $5 - 2 Tostadas, Ceviche de Pescado - $14 - 1 Tostada de Maviri - $7.50 - 2 Bottled waters - $5.50

The ambiance is a get together with your friends at his grandmas house in Rosarito. There is music, ice cold beer, and delicious food. Let's start with the beer. ICE COLD! That's all you really need to know. If you order a bottle or from the tap, there is frost on your cup/bottle. The food is amazing! The Shrimp Tacos, any Ceviche you order will take your breathe away. The shrimp tacos have the most amazing taste, the sweet balance of the batter, salt from the beaches of Puerto Nuevo, along with a wonderful chipotle sauce. The service is impeccable. Paulina was friendly, polite and explained the menu, along with her recommendations. The ambiance is a bit on the louder side, but when you take that first bite you will be transformed to that chair on the beach. This my friends is a must try.........over and over again.

I'm going to say this place is a little on the pricier side but the food was delicious. The tacos had such great flavor. They also have a lot of different salsas to make get that complemented the tacos very well. It's very nice inside with a lot of murals and great music playing. It was not busy for a Saturday night. We had excellent service everyone was very friendly and attentive to our needs.

Wow! What a hidden gem! So glad I found this place! We tried a little bit of everything and EVERYTHING was incredible! Fish tacos, ceviche , clam chowder bowl , shrimp tacos, tuna tostada !!! Food was fresh and delicious! Everything is homemade! Service was perfect and you could see everyone working together to make our experience perfect. The place was full on a Thursday night! The beer was ice cold, the music was nice and the game was on the TVs. We couldn't have asked for a nicer dining environment. The owner, Victor visited our table to make sure we were happy and the service from Karla was outstanding. Check this place out! You won't be disappointed!

They had these cheap old tables and plastic plates. This was no hidden gem. It looked like an old truck stop from the 80s. The art on the walls was kind of cool and indicative of a Mexican restaurant. They didn't carry Jarritos. I asked for pineapple. They said no, but later I found out they had pineapple agua fresca . The waitress should have told me. My niece had chicken nuggets, but they had no barbecue sauce. The carnitas tacos weren't shredded and they had absolutely No flavor whatsoever. My tacos fell apart too. Their tortillas are weak. Luckily they had lemon, salt and Tapatio. They did start with complementary chips and salsa, which was a nice surprise. They didn't have any breakfast burritos We had to wait forever for them to bring our check, they never brought it and we had to walk all the way up to the front to ask about payment.

Then we asked to speak to the manager since she couldn't help us and she told us the cooks were the managers and that they extremely angry at us and at her for me not liking the food and asking if they could please just take it out of our check. Even worse than that, we saw cockroaches all over their bathroom!!! 0/10 save ur $$$$ most unprofessional & horrible restaurant experience ever. :(

The Real Deal: Like Sunday at Tio's…read more If you're looking for a "fusion" taco with micro-greens and a side of existential dread, keep driving. But if you want a meal that feels like a warm hug from a relative who's slightly disappointed you haven't visited more often, welcome to Jalisco Restaurant in Coachella. The Atmosphere: Family Values & Smoke Walking into Jalisco isn't like entering a business; it's like walking into Tio JP's backyard. That nostalgic aroma of hard work and seasoned grills immediately greets you. It's a throwback to being a kid, watching your tios hover over the fire, treating every flip of the meat like a sacred ritual. There's no "new-age hype" here--just the perfected craft of a family that knows exactly what they're doing. The Heavy Hitters: Tripas & Cabeza Whether you're a "seasoned veteran" of Mexican street food or a nervous newbie, you have to commit to the Tripas and Cabeza. The Texture: The Tripas are cleaned and cooked to that elusive, crispy-yet-tender perfection. The Vessel: Whether you tuck them into a taco or go big with a burrito, it's a masterclass in traditional cooking. The GOAT (Literally): The Birria Let's get one thing straight: most places are out here serving "beef seasoned with birria spices" and calling it a day. Don't be fooled. This is the real deal. We're talking authentic goat meat, slow-cooked using the De La Torre family recipe straight from Jalisco. It's rich, it's tender, and it carries the weight of generations. It's the kind of flavor you can't replicate with a "modern twist." The Refreshment: Homemade Chavelas You're going to need something to wash down that Menudo or those wet burritos. Their homemade Chavela recipe is the MVP here. For the Modelo Negro fans: It adds a dark, savory depth. For the Michelob Ultra drinkers: It gives that crisp finish a spicy, citrus kick. The Verdict Jalisco Restaurant is one of the valley's originals for a reason. It's honest food for people who respect the process. In a world of trendy "reimagined" Mexican food, Jalisco reminds us that the original recipes never needed fixing in the first place. Go for the food, stay because you feel like family.

*Mi Casa es Su Casa*…read more My buddy had a small casual bday get-together with his family and invited me to join the celebration. I saw all the favorable reviews on Yelp and was looking forward to my first visit at Casa Mendoza. Very chill & lively family owned Mexican joint in Old Town LQ. The place was kinda busy @6:30pm on Hump Night ~~ always a great sign when I see this. Felt more like a Sunday Evening. It took an hour to receive our meals. Ordered @6:45 arrived @7:45pm. Good thing the Chimichanga & Gauc apps arrived pretty quickly. The Gauc was Excellente. All their food was very good. But all our meals arrived cold/lukewarm. Took forever to receive our food and we knew for a fact it's because all our plates sat a while until we were served. The actual plates weren't even warm and the sizzling fajitas had sizzled out and lost its dazzle. Because it was still 95 degrees when dinner was finally served, our lukewarm meals were doable on a hot night. Everyone did enjoy their meals tho. I was very pleased with my Mahi Mahi in Garlic Butter Sauce. The refried beans were outstanding. The rice very good...and I made tacos with the 3 corn tortillas. But would have enjoyed it even more had all the food been a little warmer. I stuck with H2O but all margarita drinkers said their drinks were good and hit the spot on a warm night. The service in general was also inconsistent for our small party of 8. The Birthday Boy was a little frustrated and got up a few times from his throne seeking assistance -- such as missing tortillas for meals, water refills, extra napkins. We even had to wait longer than anticipated for them to acknowledge the bday boy with a celebratory bday song & sombrero...and the fried ice cream, which didn't include a candle. Tho we all enjoyed ourselves and time together...a 2 hour dinner at a Mexican joint on a Wednesday night wasn't what we anticipated. Especially with one restless 7 year old ;-) But everyone working at Casa Mendoza is very friendly with great attitudes. Hostess team, waiters, servers & runners too. So that made up for the spotty service, just a little bit. Since I'm closer to the other Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert, I'd go there in the future with my wife, and order the exact same thing. But hope for much better service and warmer food.
