The Beria tacos are impossible to eat neatly. The taste is good nothing's overpowering. I like corn tortillas but I don't think the flat yellow corn ones were the best to go with the meat. Sayulita Tap Room far exceeded our expectations and we are so happy to have this spot for tacos and margaritas on this side of town. I did have a feeling it was going to hit since this restaurant/ taproom is located inside their Mexican market but we had to go for ourselves to find out. Sayulita was super cute in the decor and vibes. You wouldn't even know they were attached to a supermarket to be honest. They did such a good job with the decor and ambiance that they make it feel like a Mexican restaurant and bar beyond what you'd ever expect given the location. The bar looked very inviting but we opted for a high top table. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table. Then they'll drop off the drinks and food once ready. Staff were super nice and welcoming. The gal working the cash register and bar was super nice and bubbly. She gave us suggestions when we asked questions about the menu. Super nice and it also appeared one of their managers were working too. He brought us our food checked on us to make sure we were enjoying. For a casual order at the counter spot I felt like service was even more attentive and friendly than you'd expect. 5/5 for service. The menu was huge! This is a great spot for even your pickiest of eaters. Lots of Mexican staples but also wings and hotdogs for someone looking for something else. Not gonna lie, the pictures of their Americanized food looked super good - might try some of those bites next time. But I was definitely in the mood for tacos and margs. The food was 5/5 and the margaritas were 4/5. Everything was really good and memorable. I had a watermelon margarita and I appreciated the fresh muddled and cut watermelon chunks in the cocktail. This place is awesome. It's part of the Mexican supermarket which is awesome. I had a margarita which they made quite strong and we ordered from the restaurant and the supermarket. The supermarket has the best meat department I've ever seen. It's enormous. It made me wish I live here, I'd come and smoke a different cut of meat every weekend. This place was a great find! We were in Indio for the night and if we had stayed another night, we would've gone back for another dinner! Not going to say it was the best I've had, but it was drinkable. Recommend: I recommend the birria tacos, they were pretty good. The carnita tacos were a hit out miss. I got 4 and two had a lot of the well cooked meat, while the other two had dry beef jerky texture. Avoid: I would Avoid the chicken and beef tacos, it taste like the leftover and nothing but crumbs. I personally wouldn't go back since I have the same store close to my house that sell the food as well, but for any locals I'd say it's good enough for them and for anyone traveling, I'd recommend they try when I mention just know this isn't a real restaurant type or sports bar as you may think. We were driving from Phoenix and decided to stop here based on other recommendations. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the bartender was nice and attentive and the ambiance is nice. First, we got guacamole which was OK, the chips were cooked in old oil and were super hard but not crispy, that was the best food. We got fish tacos and wings. EVERYTHING was cooked in old disgusting oil that had a horrible taste. The wings were the biggest wings I've ever seen and they were not crispy, just soggy which made me think they were pre fried, I ate 2 and that was enough. You would think as a tap place they would have more than 1 IPA beer options, but nope. This was a horrible option and our bellies were killing us on our way back. Several minutes. Tacos were flavorful and filling. The guacamole was fresh and well balanced. My only critique was it took some time before your food arrived and if you wanted to add anything you had to get up and wait in line again as the staff would not take any additional orders. The line could Take five to ten minutes just to order. Having to wait an additional 20 Minutes to add any food to your meal was just not a viable option . We got beer and nachos and the nachos were good, but took over a half an hour to arrive at our table. The place was not crowded so unsure why it was so slow.
