This spot had just opened recently and my lady and I had been curious to try it. We've seen their menu, loaded with cajun seafood options including fried platters and broils, and it all looked really good. So, on a Friday, we decided on a whim to go for it. Good decision? I would say yes! The place itself is bigger than I expected and has a very nautical vibe with loads of seating including a big bar area (unfortunately no booze yet because their liquor license hasn't gone through just yet). We were seated right away and our friendly server was with us in no time. She took the time to explain the menu and asked if we had any questions. We opted for two of the fried platters; my lady got the fried oysters with cajun fries, and I got the fried whiting with sweet potato fries. We hardly waited long at all before our food came out. It was all very tasty and not greasy at all. It was all priced very nicely too. Definitely a good new spot to enjoy for good cajun style seafood. I have a feeling we'll be back to try their raw oysters and seafood broils. Here's hoping they have their liquor license then so we can enjoy a couple brews with it too. read more

Mr. Crabhouse has the family themed seafood ambiance. You can enter the establishment & take photos with oversized crabs and sharks. It's pretty impressive. Overall, I enjoyed the food I received. I ordered the fried oyster basket which was pretty good. I did feel like I could have used more than 1 small serving of seafood sauce. Also I though the fries were really good & seasoned well. I liked the Cajun seafood boil as well. It was good. I thought it was delicious. It came with tons of things like mussel, corn, crawfish and shrimp . However, I had to add on Dungeness crab because it's pretty tasty. In the end I would go back but I had food poisoning the next day. If you are looking for the Cincy version of 'The Juicy Crab' this is it! I went here with a fellow seafood loving friend of mine. We both were pleasantly surprised that the food was similar taste wise to the popular Southern chain. I ordered the mix and match deal with 1/2 lb of crab legs and 1/2 lb of shrimp...we also added on extra potatoes and corn ($3 per order) and split it....because your original order literally comes with ONE potato and ONE piece of corn. The restaurant was extremely clean and pretty much empty for a Friday night...not sure if it's because of COVID or the lack of a liquor license. So, overall I was satisfied, but unfortunately... there were 5 other persons in my party. 3 got different boils, and none of them were crazy about them. All of them ordered different sauces, and none of them were particularly fond of the taste. 1 got a shrimp Po' Boy... and he wasn't a fan of it either, and didn't finish it. I have ordered from Mr. Crab House several times and a few different ways. The food has been consistently good. Not into the crab boils, but their shrimp basket is a great choice. Their chicken wings are also tasty. I've removed 2 stars for inconsistency and issues. I have received DoorDash orders and online orders with no issue. Unfortunately, prices are slightly higher on DD so I elected to call my order in for pick up. I arrived in 15 minutes as directed and was told my order wasn't quite ready. After another 15 minutes I was still waiting. The woman working the front offered me a drink but said my food wasn't quite ready. Another 10 minutes and still nothing. I was getting annoyed. I'm finally told their was an issue with my "ticket" and they were just starting on my order. I was also told I would receive $2 off for the inconvenience. I get my order missing the ranch dressing i requested but at least everything was hot. My po'boy had no mayo order sauce but had a scant amount of lettuce and pickles. Not the best. I got the special with 1/2 lbs of crab and 1/2 lbs of shrimp boil, I also added 1/2 lbs of clams, broccoli, sausage and eggs with a side of rice; I ordered the Special Blend mild and it was very good. I would have given it 5 stars because the customer service was great! Had hoped for a better 1st impression here, but that was not the case. The "Hibachi steak" tasted like steak in Taco Bell mild sauce. Dead on Taco Bell mild sauce. I've seen this place in Pleasant Ridge for some time now and been anxious to try it. The first Friday of Lent, we happened to have an evening without the kids and went to try it out. Service was OK, we waited a while for the server and were greeted after another table that came in about 5 minutes after us. The server was pleasant and attentive from then on. The food was good and we were enjoying our evening out when this family style restaurant TURNED INTO A NIGHTCLUB. At 6:30 in the evening. There were around 8 tables seated in the restaurant. Then they started blaring CLUB MUSIC, STROBE LIGHTS, AND A SMOKE MACHINE that filled the room quickly and smoked us into a quick exit. I don't know if that is what it takes to get people in during the remainder of the year; but 6:30 in the evening in a seafood restaurant on a Friday in Lent? I will not be back and will be proactively offering my opinion to friends in the neighborhood. read more

From Dallas TX visiting friends. It was incredible! Had the boil, half shrimp headless and crawfish with garlic butter sauce, mild. Corn and potato included. It was so delicious! Get headless shrimp...easier to peel. We drove 1/2 an hour to get there for lunch and was well worth it. Can't speak to the other dishes, but the 3 of us (2 local regulars) all liked the boils. Calamari wasn't as good as the others would have liked. Gotta try it! read more

All the fried food was done perfectly. The breading was crispy and light, not at all greasy. You could tell the oil they used was fresh and clean. I opted for the Cole slaw instead fries, which was pretty basic but good. Plates and serving baskets were very casual plastic or paper cup for the slaw. We ordered the fried shrimp with cajun fries and fried oysters with cajun fries and was delivered through door dash. We have ordered from them before and the food was excellent. This time not so. Both orders of fries were heavily salted and my fiance complained that the oysters were too much breading and very fishy tasting. She threw out the oysters rather than attempt to finish them. I called to complain and asked for the manager and a young woman named Elena said she would handle my complaint. I addressed both issues and apart from saying she would address it with the kitchen and that in the future we could get the cajun spice on the side all we got was lip service. Overly salted food can be a major issue if the customer has high blood pressure. We did not call to solicit a refund or a discount credit but that is generally what should be done in these instances when the majority of the food is of poor quality. We were return customers and our faith in this restaurant was disappointed. We should not have to babysit our order with special instructions to ensure we get satisfactory quality food. When a customer calls to complain but also to help with your customer service you owe it to them to damage control and make sure they get their money's worth. I regret I did not insist on talking to a manager - she sounded much too young and inexperienced in handling a complaint call. We will be going to Crafty Crab in Kenwood in the future. read more

Went and got take out on a Wednesday night. They were pretty busy, had my food out quick, and from what I could tell, had all the seated customers really well spaced out. Well, my food was SO GOOD, that I ended up going back on Saturday. HIGHLY recommend the Shrimp Po' Boy 11/10. I meant to take a photo of it both times and just couldn't resist eating it immediately. My SO got the chicken tenders and they were also amazing. The Cajun fries are also a must! The reason I only gave them a 4 star is because on Saturday when I ate in the restaurant, my waitress had her mask down under her chin the entire time. The rest of the waiters/waitresses seemed to have their faces covered, maybe saw 1-2 of their noses out, but it seemed to just be my waitress. She was new (you could tell and she told us), but since she was walking from table to table (where customers obviously aren't wearing masks when they eat) I really feel like she should have had her mask up. Again, the food is so amazing so I know I'll be back. But I just wouldn't eat in there again. read more

My wife and I met friends there about 6:15pm. I saw that this was a larger place than I thought though there was only about 12-14 tables being served. I thought that would mean we'd get served quick...WOW was I wrong. It was a good 20 min. before anyone showed up to take our order. It was not the least bit busy. Must be very short staffed. But then it was another 25 min. before the food was served. I don't understand this as I only had the fried catfish and my wife had chicken tenders. As for the food, well my fish and her chicken were very over cooked. Seems they packed it to go and since the waitress wasn't checking on us or our order (never came by to check our drinks)...short staffed? The fish was oily and not at all good. We'd been better off going to LJS or Captain D's. Needless to say, we will not go. Back to Red Lobster I guess. read more
