The menu is filled with pictures so you know what to expect. Although I am not too familiar with northern chinese cuisine, I could see that the food were traditional dishes, not westernized. The bbq lamb and squid that i ordered were ok. The lamb had that unique lamb taste, but the meat was tender. The squid was very flavorful, but a bit chewy. The clams were tasty. We asked for the spice to be toned down, which they obliged. The dumplings though, were disappointing. The dough was pretty thick, and it dominated the dumplings. Surprisingly the restaurant got very packed. But there were only 2 servers working the floor. It was hard to communicate because our server only spoke chinese to us, and I was struggling to understand what he said. Because they were so busy, it took a few times waving our hands in the air to get their attention. Once our order was taken, it took a bit before our dishes arrived. I felt they were rookies in the service industry, but the food was cheap and not too shabby overall. Another surprise was when I went to pay with the machine, they offer a 6% tip option. Haven't seen that before. I would go back to this restaurant, and I would recommend it to other people. Just make sure you bring your patience with you.

When we arrived we figured something was up... we sat at a table waiting for a menu for almost 10 minutes (not kidding.) But we saw piles and piles of takeout orders ready to be picked up, with one server running the entire floor, so we figured it was an exceptionally busy night. The food was AMAZING. I requested vegetarian fried rice and the server who barely spoke English pointed out words on the menu to make sure I could eat egg because the chef asked if I was vegan. My boyfriend and I each ordered a soup entree, which was 3 times the size we expected, for half the price we expected. The BBQ buns for appetizers are to die for (and only $2 for 4 slices) and the scallion pancakes were top notch ($4). My (omnivorous) boyfriend ordered braised lamb in chili oil with cabbage ($12) and was blown away by it. I ordered rice noodles with stewed tomato and fried egg ($6) which will last me for the next three days with leftovers. Beers are under $3 each, too. Lots of other customers around us ordered seafood dishes, which looked great, so I would recommend trying that next time.

They serve consistently good quality home cooked Korean meals. Last time I went in, I noticed the restaurant was renovated and offers nice in restaurant seating. Meals take around 20 min to prepare, you can call ahead for takeout. The employees are always nice. I got the chicken teriyaki and bulgogi. My fam got the bibimbop and sushi (a newer offer). Meals are served hot and will not disappoint!

By small, I mean, if the takeout container was half the size of a tissue box, maybe half of that container is maybe filled. Also, the prices are pretty expensive for the size. The restaurant was quite busy and popular when it first opened and for a little while after. The location seems pretty good. It's been quiet with foot traffic more recently (at least within the last year or so). I have seen the occasional food delivery guy visit during the same time frame.

Our server was very friendly and helpful, and they have a process where you order on your smartphone. We decided to share a couple of things, including the Hunan Style Stir Fried Pork, which we got at the hottest spice level available. The food arrived a short time later, along with the small bowls of rice we ordered on the side. This was one tasty dish. Everything worked really well together, from the delicious chunks of pork to the flavorful sauce. And when eaten with that rice, it becomes a decadent, saucy delight. I was really intrigued by many of the other options on their menu, so I think it's a safe bet we'll be returning.

We ordered the Pan Fried Dumpling with Minced Pork - it never arrived. Just as well because we had enough for two people and were already full. Of all, the congee was the most flavourful. The other items were standard. The noodles didn't have as much flavour and 'wok hei' as we would have liked, but still ok.
