Manager seems to be a micro manager learn to trust your staff. also don't believe that the meat and eggs come from local farms. eggs were a pale yellow yoke store bought for sure vs farm fresh eggs that are a rich dark yellow/ orange yoke. waffles were store bought box waffles at best. come on you guys with such a cool building step it up. you have to do better make your own Belgium waffles not that plain no taste box ones. Uber gave me a $5 discount on a very expensive box of shredded iceberg lettuce with a few beans and corn kernels thrown in. There were a few cubes of avocado and a small amount of grated cheese. I had lunch today at Coop Wicked Chicken, which opened last summer. On their website, they describe themselves ... where punk-rock meets rustic henhouse and where the food is always #tastyascluck. That sounds about right. You are warned as you come in the door about the music. Yes, some songs had swearing and were not suitable for children but it wasn't overly loud. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich (minus lettuce and onions) and a side of fresh cut fries. The fries were good ... crispy and not greasy. The sandwich was really good. The bun was soft and warm and the inside was toasted/grilled with butter. The batter on the sandwich wasn't overpowering and it had a nice bit to it. The chicken inside was real (not processed). You can choose your own combination of pop flavours It's definitely a lively colourful spot. It was fun checking out the washroom. The ladies' had wallpaper with strawberries and apparently the men's has wallpaper with hot dogs. At the cash, there is a basket of pins and stickers. Although at the price they are charging, you would normally expect a side of fries included. Instead I got the onion petals which were great. Sauce was a bit rancid. Sauce mayo based and without the fired breading you can taste that its been oxidized. Maybe like 2 weeks old? Based on time working in the sauce industry. I also ordered breakfast huevos rancheros from the brunch menu. The avocado was not ripe. And the assorted veggies were not seasoned at all. Even the pulled chicken bits were not very seasoned. The dish needs a sauce element to tie the things together. Also, maybe its just my opinion but the plate was mostly cold. It would of been better if everything was then placed onto a hot pan to unify the ingredients. No acid in the dish, no salt or seasonings was a big letdown compared to the fried chicken. It was a different kind of batter, you'll know what I mean if you try it. Kind of a hybrid of KFC and Popeyes batter. Chunky and crunchy, yet thin. For the sauces, the New York butter tasted like a tangy buffalo sauce. I also tried there secret ghost pepper sauce. Tasty and peppery, the spiciness was around 9000 Scoville units, so order this at your own risk. Thank god I ordered the Smoky BBQ to quench my pain. All are options I would stay away from if you're ravenous. That said, they do flavour things very, very well, making the quality outstanding. Some favourites from the menu (that I find are both flavourful and decently-portioned) include the tacos, burgers, waffle fries, chicken sandwiches, and the poutines. I usually order the Hardcore Beef & Chz poutine (and you can add three types of veggies into the poutine, and three additional sauces that come on the side - I order the sriracha mayo to dip my onion petals into) or the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Less than a couple hours later we started to feel off. Ended up with food poisoning the following day that lasted over 12 hours. This is a good place if you want to lose weight - by vomiting and pissing out your ass for hours and hours. Never getting food from here again. Also just read another review of food poisoning of 6 people from this weekend where when called the restaurant manager hung up on the affected customers and said it couldn't be their chicken. Not only did I feel totally fine during and after eating the food, which was delicious, I absolutely loved the vibe. They're laid back, cool and fun. The atmosphere has just been given a huge facelift with a recent addition of a bar to give a more pub-like experience. Definitely go for the 5pc over the 3pc if you're coming for fried chicken, because they give you 3 drums and 2 thighs for the 5pc when you only get the 3 drums for the 3pc and it's only $2 extra. They give you whatever sauces you want for free (and you can choose as many as you want, unlike some chains). Service was cheery, though sometimes a little too busy talking to each other than coming around to tables.
