    Chicken sandwich close up

We've had so many yummy meals delivered from The Coop. It's definitely not the healthiest - fried chicken and all - but a delicious indulgence nonetheless. We love the chicken nachos which are extra spicy. The chicken sandwiches are very tasty too. The fried chicken itself is great - we like to order extra for lunch/dinner the next day.

Possibly tasted the best friend chicken salad I've ever had. Cocktail was okay. Our server was pleasant but they were pretty understaffed so service was not as prompt as we'd liked (we were there end of Summer during rib fest so the city was packed). Still thinking about the chicken salad from time to time

FOLLOW @roastdreviews on INSTAGRAM FOR MORE! RESTAURANT: The Coop Wicked Chicken WHAT I ORDERED: roasted sweet potato tacos, without barbecue sauce Atmosphere: This restaurant has walls covered in graffiti, and blares 90s-style music. Not my personal taste, but interesting to see. Taste: these tacos are some of the best I've ever had. The tortillas are small but doughy, and the filling doesn't come close to needing barbecue sauce to make it taste good. Service: the service I experienced at this restaurant was atrocious. I was half-ignored and half barely-acknowledged. My server didn't stop moving or make eye contact when dropping off my drink. However, I have read other reviews that rave about the service here, so it may have just been an off day. Bang for buck: $10.99 for the two tacos. It is pricey for the size, but the meal was filling, so it isn't a bad deal. Extra perks: vegetarian options available. I had lunch today at Coop Wicked Chicken, which opened last summer. On their website, they describe themselves ... where punk-rock meets rustic henhouse and where the food is always #tastyascluck. That sounds about right. You are warned as you come in the door about the music. Yes, some songs had swearing and were not suitable for children but it wasn't overly loud. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich (minus lettuce and onions) and a side of fresh cut fries. The fries were good ... crispy and not greasy. The sandwich was really good. The bun was soft and warm and the inside was toasted/grilled with butter. The batter on the sandwich wasn't overpowering and it had a nice bit to it. The chicken inside was real (not processed). You can choose your own combination of pop flavours It's definitely a lively colourful spot. It was fun checking out the washroom. The ladies' had wallpaper with strawberries and apparently the men's has wallpaper with hot dogs. At the cash, there is a basket of pins and stickers. Richard was my server and he was great ... fun and friendly. I'd go back!

It was okay. Waiter took a long time to give us menus and to serve. The actual chicken sandwich was really well battered. Seasoning was great. Although at the price they are charging, you would normally expect a side of fries included. Instead I got the onion petals which were great. Sauce was a bit rancid. Sauce mayo based and without the fired breading you can taste that its been oxidized. Maybe like 2 weeks old? Based on time working in the sauce industry. I also ordered breakfast huevos rancheros from the brunch menu. The avocado was not ripe. And the assorted veggies were not seasoned at all. Even the pulled chicken bits were not very seasoned. The dish needs a sauce element to tie the things together. Also, maybe its just my opinion but the plate was mostly cold. It would of been better if everything was then placed onto a hot pan to unify the ingredients. No acid in the dish, no salt or seasonings was a big letdown compared to the fried chicken. Overall it wasn't very good. Tldr: get the fried chicken, its good. Sauce may or may not be rancid. Disappointed brunch dishes. Price is a bit steep, medium value. Waiter was slow.

The best fried chicken sandwich I've had in the city. It was so deliciously spicy, and crunchy. The portions are surprisingly huge and so filling, just a sandwich and a side was so filling. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes fried chicken

The chicken here is definitely tasty and moist. I just don't think the price is great. I feel like you should get more for what you are paying for. The chicken sandwich is on the smaller side. The sides are not very proportional. The location is bad for parking.

Recommend the signature sandwich which was incredible. Holy Cow was so filling and the meat was juicy and tender. Had the smashed potatoes with both sauces better than old school fries. I know a lot of people have reservations paying top dollar for just a sandwich, but I'd say the quality of ingredients and flavourful sauces is totally worth it. I always get the holy cow sandwich with vamp sauce, but will occasionally get the chicken sandwich with lunar sauce. I did try the lemonade they had once, but to be honest, it doesn't quite fit my palate. The lemonade has some sort of seasoning in it. If you've had lemonade from East Asian restaurants, you would kind of know what to expect. They also give you a discount card that you can show for an extra 15% off when you visit. If you're in the area looking for a quick bite, I'd give this place a shot.

My boyfriend liked the Connecticut roll best (just buttah) and I liked the Olcott Fire roll best (calabrian chili butter); the New England roll (lemon chive mayo) ranked last for both of us. We did not think $36 was a crazy high price for the trio. There is an extra charge (I think it was 3.5%) for using a credit card. Cash is king!

Nice and clean inside, the staff was friendly and very helpful with the menu. I decided to get a karaage side dish and a bbq pulled pork sandwich. Mind you the reviews were all old over a year ago. Since COVID I do noticed most restaurants quality post COVID has gone down. Ambiance: It's pretty small with a few tables. Decor is pretty cute and modern. Also super clean with one unisex washroom. You order at the counter and seat yourself like a fast food place. Service: Service was good. The lady took our order and the food came pretty quick. We also got there at 1:30pm so it was empty. Food: We ordered a easy as pie milkshake which is like you apple pie in a milkshake! Pretty cool idea. The pics on the website looks great. However in reality it didn't look like the website pic at all. Just white milkshake. There are tiny chunks of apple/ cookies and a hint of cinnamon. But overall tasteless and not sweet. It's was like I was drinking ice milk with some texture. I was not impressed. We only took a couple of sips and it left a weird after taste so we didn't end up finishing it To share we got the Kimchi poutine. It was essentially fries that were not that crispy soaked with Kimchi and some mayo on top. It was ok a little underwhelming. The 3 sandwiches we got were different so we can try them all: 1. Sriracha honey Karaage chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit soggy maybe from the sauce. The bun was fresh. The lettuce inside was a bit wilted. 2. Pho beef banh mi sandwich. The beef was a bit dry and the banh mi was tasteless with no flavour 3. Bbq pull pork sandwich. It was sweet and flavourful but again too much sauce made the sandwich a bit soggy. Pricing is fair. But probably won't come back. For $50 I can get better food elsewhere.

Let me preface by saying that their OG The David sandwiches are not bad. The focaccia bread was nice, and the sauce is solid where they didn't overdo the truffle flavours. What they however overdid was the prosciutto. Sometimes in life, less is more. They just went 'ham' with layers upon layers of what tasted like the cheap San Daniele prosciutto (according to the website they used ones produced by local Niagara farmers), where in parts of the sandwich that didn't have the mozzarella cheese, the sandwich was inedible because it was so salty. By eating the entire sandwich, I would have exceeded the entire week's sodium intake. By the end, I had to throw a quarter of the sandwich out since it was so heavy and salty. Had they invested in higher quality prosciutto and included just two or three layers of it, it would have been a pretty good sandwich. I remember, outside the restaurant they said something along the lines of if someone ate a sandwich from Sandwich Society, he/she would not regret it like their EXs. But after having one, I experienced a certain degree of buyer's remorse. Remember, "we don't eat sandwiches because we are hungry.
