Last week, I had a bad experience with my regular goto Labcorp in Miami Beach when they closed their office to the public for several days without telling the patients! All because their a/c didn't work, which is understandable. Although I had a bona fide appointment with them on 08/11/25 and they have all of my information, they never called me to let me know that their office was closed. I found out after I drove all the way to their office on the 5th floor and found a note on their door that they were closed. I called them several times that day and left messages as they requested but they never called me back to this day. I called their corporate office and I was informed that I could go to this Walgreens for Labcorp testing. So that's why I drove all the way to this Walgreens location so that I could get my bloodwork done before I see my specialist next week. Unbelievable. On to the good part! I was very impressed with Yudit, the Labcorp Tech, who performed my blood work. Not only does she have a nice personality, but she also inserts the needle without any pain to my arm whatsoever! I didn't realIze that she was already drawing blood. She gets 5 stars from me. The process was quick and I was out of there. Thank you, Yudit! The reason for 4 stars is because I had a confirmed appointment here and still had to wait a half hour before my name was called to go in. The waiting room was packed, people sneezing and coughing next to each other in a small space. I hope I don't get sick. There were 2-3 lines of people waiting to pick up their prescriptions. Then you have the walk-ins for Labcorp adding to tje count. There were not enough seats available either. Some of the walk-ins were loudly upset because they had been waiting for over 2 hours to be called. I told a couple of them to set up an appointment on the Labcorp website to avoid the long waits. They didn't know that they could do that. So hopefully that helps in the future. Maybe management can take a look at the situation for a better way to handle it all. I do appreciate that Walgreens gives space to Labcorp to perform this very important function. It really helped me out. There is a large parking lot for customers as well as several handicap spots in front of the store.

The first time was about a year ago when my mom's eye drops after her surgery were out of stock. I dropped her prescription up after the ophthalmologist; went to work to pick them up in the evening. 830pm when she needed to put her drops, alas the drops were out of stock. I had to drive to the Brickell location to pick them up and take them to Mima. Today it was my turn; I had to pick something up that the dermatologist sent me. I walked over to get my fitness, walk in past their multiple empty shelves and stand in their slow line. Alas, my prescription is not available and won't be until two days later. Thankfully it's not a critical prescription but a two day delay is not a good look.

Cafeteria window outside of a shabby-looking, painted-over concrete building with doors having iron bars - so typical of Miami! It even looks like a druggie corner, but it's not. A student at one of the classes where I work raved about their fried chicken one day. Another day, another student came in with a patty that got me hungry. And well over a month later, I come into work, and I was starving... but I knew that I couldn't go somewhere far. So, I gathered up the will to walk around the block, and that I did, through piles and piles of construction materials that people called Biscayne Boulevard. I got to the cafeteria window, no line in front of me, and none following me, during high noon. In front of me, there was this Hispanic lady in her 40s looking at me, wondering what I wanted in this construction jungle. "Que tienes para comer?" (What do you have to eat?) *She points at the small glass display showing hot goods - Cuban pastries, patties, and fried chicken* *Hrm* "Quiero pollo (chicken). WAIT! Tienes un combo?" "Si. Con ..." And she mumbles on. *Ignoring the fact I didn't understand her* "Cuanto es?" (How much is it?) "Cuatro." (Four) "Cuatro Dolares? Esta bien." *Tries not to sound surprised by how cheap a combo may be - I had 7 dollars on the spot* And so she huddles around the kitchen, getting lots of rice, red beans, an admittedly tiny salad with some of the reddest tomatoes I've seen, two pieces of good-sized fried chicken, and two pieces of Cuban toast. And so for FOUR dollars, she gave me a whole meal that filled me up more than plenty. And I had to ask for a milk shake with mamey (a fruit) to complement the meal for $1.50 more. After getting 50 cents back in change (no charge for tax!), I walked back to my work to eat. And how did it taste? Well, everything was good. Salad had a simple dressing, but the produce was fresh. Beans and chicken were flavorful, and the milk shake was good also. Is it because this place is also a supermarket? That might be.... So now I rave about this place to my coworkers, to which they roll their eyes and they say "Duh." *EDITED: The price rose to FIVE dollars! It's still cheap, no worries! Goddarn chicken, cheap prices, but arrive for lunch since they close at 4. And really, don't come here to get bagged chips and sodas - you can go anywhere else for that.
