First of all, this business is run out of a bar, which is not only unprofessional, but confusing and hard to figure out . Second, my husband called the owner (Mr. FixIt), asked him if he could fix my phone, to which he said yes. We told him we would be there in 10-15 minutes. It took us no longer than that time to get there, in which time the owner had left to "run an errand." I had my iPhone screen replaced for $100, and it cracked again 3 days later, after I tossed it lightly onto my bed. I've sent a couple of messages via the website with no response. In sharing my experience with a friend I learned that she had a similar experience through this service. Yes, this place is located in the basement of a bar. Yes, the whole scheduling thing is a little disorganized. But this is a small, local business run by a man who seems to be doing it all on his own. He replaced my phone battery for little more than the cost of parts and he did it in less than an hour. He also gave me 2 free pool tickets. All small businesses have to start somewhere, right? I was very happy with my experience and would recommend his services to anyone. read more

I almost gave this place 5 stars so this review would be noticed, but I can't even do that. This place is run out of a BAR, they told me my phone would be fixed one day, it wasn't, then they said it'd be fixed the next day, and it still wasn't. Not to mention, when I arrived the man wasn't even there so the bartender got my phone. I had to pay over 180 IN CASH, which no one told me about. The ATM is in the bar section, so I couldn't even enter there to get my cash out, I had to reach my arm around a wall. When I got it back, things were broken and not working that were FINE before I went in there. They gave me back my phone dead so I couldn't even check to see if they fixed it/what else was wrong. Mr. fix-it was not only unprofessional but he worked on my phone several times and within three days it was broken again and to begin with he told me I would have a warranty on it for 90 days so when I took it back to him three days later he wanted to charge me $250 to fix it and I said what about the warrantee and of course he was unprofessional about that as well so I took it to Apple because it's an iPhone and they told me that Mr. fix-it has been doing this for a while he's basically a con artist because he knows that if you have an iPhone that it is fairly new it has a warranty but if he works on it did it re-route removes the warrantee meaning he's hoping that you'll come back to him to have it fixed Apple Mac store said they are having constant problems with him . so I am having my attorney deal with him . I feel stupid that I took my phone in there four times I just didn't have the money. so I was hoping that this would be a cheaper route . But it's true you get what you pay for. however it's actually costing me four times the amount of money that I should have and all four times he was fixing it I was without a phone. Thankfully I have an attorney in my family who is willing to take this case so just let this be a warning and a teaching lesson to those out there who are looking for a cheaper way to get their phones fixed Mr. fix it is a con artist!!!! read more

I was referred by a friend. I actually shipped my iPad to him. I told him what was wrong (shattered screen) - he ordered the part. By the time my iPad got to him, he had the part and was able to fix it that day. He shipped it back the next day. It is great condition. I had it fixed previously at another company. They scratched and bent the case part of it and the very first time it was dropped, it shattered. Mr. Fix It's cost me less, and I've dropped it already and it did not shatter. I contacted the owner regarding replacing the screen of my android. He said the cost would be $135, and I'd have to pay in advance to order the part, which would take about a week. OK. I needed time to think about whether this would be worth it, and eventually decided to go for it. I wasn't comfortable giving credit card info over the phone; instead I wanted to go in and get a sense of the place before committing. I struggled to find the place since there's just a piece of paper taped to a window at a bar that kind of suggests that maybe it is in there. Of course, the bar was closed. I texted the guy again to ask where I was supposed to go. He said he wasn't in, but didn't answer my question. I asked when he would be in, and he said in a couple hours, maybe more. I could have probed further, explicitly saying OK, let's make an appointment. But that's kind of his job to say I need an appointment if he doesn't want to be available during the hours listed on his website. It just didn't seem like he wanted my business, so it was hard to feel like I could trust him with my money and my phone. read more
