He took his wife to the dentist. He left during the work to: 1. Buff a friend's truck. 2. Fix another customer's plumbing problem. 3. Meet his wife and son who was getting a haircut. Some of the repairs he made were OK, but much of the work was not professional looking. His painting was awful. Paint was dripped on the baseboards, slopped on the trim, and smeared on the floor. I had to repaint the baseboards and trim. The floors were not adequately cleaned. After he left, I spot clean the carpet and redid the hardware and tiled floors. He was not true to his stated prices. He exaggerated the scope and the hours of his work to inflate his bill. Jacob seems sincere and anxious to work, but he is more interested in over charging than providing good service at a fair price. Do not fall victim to this unethical handyman. I never met or spoke with her and to my knowledge, she never came to the home so her accounting of what I said or what was done is not first hand. The work was spread over a week, but none of the days were full days. The water slide work delay mentioned was not on the 4th of July. Her husband took the kids to Carowinds water park that day -- a different outing. His last work day was the 3rd. I never said do the work and I'll pay. There was no final walk through; no expression of satisfaction with the totality of the work. She is repeating her husband's exaggerated work claims. For example, "trenching" was scrapping some mulch from in front of a drainage exit: "screen repair" was replacing one screw that was missing for one of the screens to attach to. And the floor cleaning: I was going to hire Stanley Steamer when Jacob said he had a guy who would do the carpet for $69, claiming that I would get a discounted price due to the volume of work I was having done and the hope of establishing an on-going relationship. Jacob also said that his wife wanted to do the hardwoods and tiled floors at cost for the same reasons. He then claimed that the carpet cleaning guy could do the other floors for less that his wife. On the final invoice, he charged $550 for the floor cleaning. He claimed 5 hours of service. The cleaner was there for 2.

Just writing another recommendation for Pioneer Home Repairs!!…read more I had another small job I needed completed - and to be honest - I wasn't even sure if what I wanted existed - but Zachrey Conner came up with a great solution which not only gets the job done - but was economical because he was able to use my existing hardware instead of having to start buying a bunch of expensive stuff I didn't need! We have a screened in porch on the back of our house - and we have a medium sized dog who we like to give access to both our porch and the fenced in back yard. We keep his bed, along with his food and water bowls on the porch and our solution up to now has been to prop open the screen door so he could go in and out. But about a week ago we had a pretty windy day and the wind caught the propped open door and bent it all the way open - which damaged the mechanism on the top of the door that is used to prop the door open. I went to Lowes to price a new screen door (thinking that was our only option) and while doing so I thought to myself - why dont they make a doggy door for within a screen door?? I looked at Lowes, Home Depot and even Amazon and did not find anything like what I was thinking would be a perfect solution - because I knew even if we replaced the bent door it would likely be damaged again in the future if we continued to prop it open. So - I reached out to Zach and he literally showed up at my door to talk about what I wanted within 30 minutes of texting him (like seriously - who does that)!! He said he was finishing a job near by and so he came right over. We talked about what I was wanting and he said he thought we could modify my exisiting door without too much trouble and he then told me my original door wasn't damaged - I just needed a new part for the existing door - and that part cost less than $20!! I was thrilled. We setup an appointment for him to return to do the work and he finished the job a little earlier today. Once again I am thrilled with the outcome. He installed the new part to fix my door and customized the original door by removing two vertical slats to the right hand side of the door and created a frame to support the changes in the actual screening - which he cut and added a metal piece to the bottom of and then added magnets in the frame of the door itself so it now swings open for my dog to go through but will stay closed to prevent bugs from entering an open hole - just like a doggy door is supposed to do!! Now I can use my door but keep it closed all while allowing my dog to come and go multiple times per day without having to physically let him in and out of the porch or prop open the door!! Zach is such a wonderful handyman! I highly recommend him for any repairs or maintenance work you need done! I can't speak to anyone else's experience, as this review is all my personal experience and opinion…read moreonly, as I know not everyone will have the same experience and I also know there are some solid techs at this company (I have personally dealth with them), but unfortunately I had a nightmare experience with mutiple bad apples in my opinion, and it unfortunately resulted in the end of my storied relationship with a plumber that I thought would be the last one I would ever need, but as they say if something seems too good to be true it usually is... I thought I had found a plumber for life, but my personal experience with Option One ended up with me feeling as though they exhibited failed ownership in addressing an issue caused by errors from their techs, lack of accountability with regard to said issue and becoming confrontational and argumentative when the issue was brought to their attention. Long story short, I had a plumbing blockage that resulted in my front yard needing to be dug up and new pipes being installed in the yard. Upon completion of the job, I experienced flooding in my yard and requested Option One to come out and address the issue. They tried to claim it was an irrigation issue not their problem, but after getting another Option One tech and a plumber from another company to come out, it was confirmed (via photos) that the flooding was due to Option One failing to connect the piping correctly. Instead of taking ownership and accountability for the issue, I was met with defensiveness, along with the above stated lack of ownership and accountability. At one point in the process I even had to ask one of the techs to leave my property because he had such a dismissive unprofessional attitude. I could go on and on but I have already wasted so much time on dealing with this issue that it isn't worth any more of my time. At the end of the day, I found another company to correct the failed work done by Option One and this company apologized on behalf of Option One, as this company felt bad that I had to go through such an ordeal, given that the plumbing industry is already viewed in a negative light by many, right up there with mechanics, car salesmen and attorneys by some. You can read my past reviews to see how much I praised this company in the past, which is why I was so disappointed by what in my personal option was a complete lack of accountability and ownership by multiple individuals across the Option One company. After giving this company multiple five star reviews over the years, I cannot recommend them to anyone anymore as the trust they gained over the years was lost in an instant and based on my personal experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone moving forward like I have done in the past.
