    Trent's Carpet Cleaning & Restoration

    Trent's Carpet Cleaning & Restoration

BEWARE. DO NOT HIRE! Our upstairs laundry room overflowed…read moreand flooded in Feb 2025. Our original flooring had been discontinued and we'd worked with several companies to find a similar style. After weeks of searching, we reached out to Trent's Carpet Cleaning & Restoration. He found the exact flooring we wanted and said he could start right away. We also opted to have Trent's replace carpet in areas insurance didn't cover. He said the flooring would have a lifetime warranty and would not chip or scratch. He promptly took a $10,000 deposit, only to later tell us we couldn't get the flooring we picked. We ended up reluctantly agreeing to a different floor Trent suggested. From day 1, we had issues. He positions his company as a family business operating with integrity, but I would challenge that. Trent never visited the job once work began and did not manage the project. I had to act as liaison between him and his workers. The days and times they showed up were never consistent and rarely communicated. Throughout the process, Trent tried to cut corners -- despite insurance covering the cost. Workers would show up unannounced, and Trent would call expecting us to pick up and move everything for them. With 3 young kids (including a newborn), this is not realistic. Not to mention, insurance covered moving as an exact line item. Trent also tried to re-use broken shoe molding and quarter round instead of replacing -- again, items specifically covered by insurance. Several damaged pieces of flooring were installed and they were clearly frustrated when we asked for them to be replaced. We had to constantly inspect the work and confirm items were being addressed. By the time the job was "done", we just wanted them out of our house. When it came time to pay the balance, Trent collected nearly $5,000 in additional "overhead and profit." He came to pick up the check without doing a walk through, asking for feedback, or thanking us. Right away, the flooring started chipping from the smallest things -- a Norwex mop, a small plastic toy, etc. We emailed Trent on Nov 4, which he never responded to. Shortly after, we noticed water around the downstairs toilet. A plumber told us the wax ring was not replaced when the toilet was reinstalled after the floor work. Ironically, Trent had a plumber connect and disconnect our water softener, but didn't use one for the toilet. On Nov 21, I reached out again. After several follow ups, he finally came out Dec 9. Trent acknowledged the chipping and the water damage, though stated several times they always replace the wax ring. He said he'd file a warranty claim for the chipping but couldn't return until the New Year to replace the water damaged flooring. I followed up Jan 6, Jan 23, Feb 9, Feb 16, Feb 20, and Feb 23. Trent said he was waiting on the warranty decision before addressing the bathroom floors. Despite multiple follow ups, there was no decision. On Feb 23, Trent sent workers to do the repair with zero guidance and no replacement flooring. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed Trent had never filed a warranty claim. When I asked if I could file it myself, I was told it had to go through Trent -- who clearly does not take care of his customers. It is now Mar 30. Our water damaged floors have not been replaced, the $200 plumber bill has not been reimbursed, and nobody has contacted us about a warranty claim.

Art Dept. painters are a name to remember because they are everything you would want in a painting…read morecompany for your home. We will always just call them when we need more painting. We have a good-sized home and just had them paint the WHOLE first floor (regular & coffered ceilings, all crown molding, walls, wall base, window frames, even closets). Their quote was thoughtful and reasonable, because we sure learned how much work it is to paint a home PROPERLY. A sharp & professional effort like theirs makes me see the big difference in quality. They are methodical in their work plan, and perfectionists with caulking, spackling/sanding, & painting. Every night my husband would walk around & inspect their work & comment how really excellent the quality of their work was. Their communication was good, they arrived same time every day, & their paint/caulk was very high-quality which makes more difference than most realize. A lot of people can paint, but we were super thankful that the Art Dept. painters (all of them) were also courteous, prompt, respectful, and just made the whole process easier for our family. And nice was that they all got along, talked/laughed, and often either quietly listened to books on tape or podcasts, or played really nice music. The owner, Jeremiah was lead painter w/another co. on the exterior of our house many years ago, so we were pleased to have him back again. He has his own company now and has gathered impressive others to work with him. They are wrapping up now ... I can hear them vacuuming! Yes, they vacuum! They are tidy and clean up daily! They hang plastic to minimize dust; so thankful for that. Seriously, we cannot recommend The Art Department Painting Co. enough!!! Call them!

I cannot tell you how many compliments that I have received, not only do they do a thorough job and pay attention to detail but he took the time to lay out a rendering and bounce ideas off of what color he feels would work better. Very experienced, hire them!!!

I hired them to install windows on a porch, and was told the job would include reframing and painting. Instead, they simply cut out the old screens and dropped the new windows into the existing frame -- no prep, no scraping, no paint, and none of the quality or care that was promised. When questioned, the rep hid behind email exchanges rather than addressing the obvious shortcuts taken. Avoid DGA Roofing and this representative at all costs. Integrity, workmanship, and accountability don't seem to be part of their business practice.

We contacted company due to 4 leaks in roof from the job they did less than 2 years ago in July, 2012. The previous owner of the house hired this company as they were placing house on market and home needed new roof (we purchased home in October of 2012...3 months after roof was put in). Before we contacted this company to come and correct the issues with the roof that they completed, we had another roofing company (who we were originally told put the roof on) to come and figure out what was wrong and to fix. The previous roofer carefully inspected the inside of house where leaks were occurring, and then found the issues on roof. He explained that the flashing was not done correctly and that a section of roof (very small "valley area") needed to be redone. Keep in mind he thought he was responsible for roof, so there was no reason for him to find faults if there were none. When we found out who actually put roof on later that day, we phone Midwest Restoration. One of the partners came out the next day and first thing he said when he walked into our home was that the warranty was invalid because we did not hire the company. He glanced at 3 of the leaks and began making several excuses as to why house was leaking...non of which were their fault. He said the company had a "falling out" over couple that hired them, so if they badmouthed them, I shouldn't listen. Of course, he didn't want to fix roof properly, he wanted to band-aid it with some caulk. He scoffed at what original roofer said about replacing a small section of roof and kept stating how great of a job his company always does and there is no need to fix flashing or section of shingles. He was extremely rude and argumentative entire time. It was obvious he wasn't going to put any effort into addressing the issues. He also was nice enough to leave an empty bottle of his caulk laying right in the middle of my lawn after he left. This company simply does not stand behind their shoddy work.
