I scheduled a 7AM class for Friday. Communication with Mr. Garrido the week leading up to the lesson was professional and responsive. On the morning of, Marcos arrived in a car with clear decals and I appreciated that! It lets people on the road know a student is behind the wheel and to take care hah! During the lesson, Marcos made me felt safe and that I was taken care of and at the same time, was teaching me things I was doing wrong and where I needed to improve. Remarks were made in real time and also in a final assessment email, which I believe is very valuable as an older student behind the wheel for the first time. Marcos was very patient with me but was firm when needed. Naturally, I made repeated mistakes. As a student, my perception of the road around me wasn't vast but with Marcos next to me, it was reassuring to know he had my back (he was definitely looking out for me and the safety of those around me) and this is a valuable asset to have when learning because I was still grasping trying to pick up all the things I should be aware of behind the wheel. I cannot speak highly enough about Mr. Garrido as a driving instructor. My two teens, both of whom learn very differently and have different strengths and weaknesses as new drivers, loved his instruction and he made them feel very comfortable behind the wheel. My daughter appreciated his clear non-judgmental feedback and said she felt very well-prepared for her driving test (passed first time around) and my son (who also passed the first try) said he really liked how Mr. Garrido clearly cared about him as a person and thought his instructions were always very clear and actionable. He is extremely easy to book with and his response time and communication is excellent. I strongly recommend trying at least a lesson or two with him. He really knows how to support a new driver through their fears, concerns and learning journey of driving. Fantastic instructor!! Mr Garrido was patient, calm, and gave my daughter many helpful tips and the confidence to pass her driver's test. He helped her learn the area near the DMV, gave suggestions on the best time to get an appointment, and was able to get her driving on the freeway, in the canyon, and also in rainy conditions. Mr Garrido is one of the most patient and nicest guys you will ever meet! I failed drivers test two times and I had one last try to pass. I was beginning to feel as if I was never going to get my license. It was until Mr. Garrido not only helped me with driving but change my mindset on life as well. He gave me some tips I never even heard about that really helped me with my practice such as how many miles you should go for a turn.
